I worked there and it was the most awful experience I have ever had. They never told me they had installed monitoring/recording software on the laptop that they said they were giving me to use at home. I am openly gay and one time after work when my boyfriend was out of town I looked at a dirty website. It was only 1 time and very briefly. Weeks later I got into an argument with my boss over not being able to work when I was sick during covid. I was sent a termination letter stating that I was being fired "for watching gay porn on company property" with a screenshot. I believe they did this so I would be too embarrassed to go to the labour board regarding a wrongful termination and unfortunately they were right. I felt so degraded and humiliated that I could not bear the thought of having to relive it. The most hurtful part of it all was feeling their hate in that they wanted me to be ashamed of who I am and to use those insecurities to shield themselves from any repercussions.
