The place at *** was wrongly advertised as 2820 sq ft when it's actually 2,376, according to the VA appraisal. One of the Agents from Real Star Property Management made this mistake. I told the Agent about the error, but they didn't fix it and keep advertising it wrong. They won't correct the issue. Please let the company know so they can fix it. We rented our property through Real Star and trusted them to take care of it. They told us we needed to replace the carpets in two rooms, so we did. We got complaints from our neighbors about our tenants running an illegal childcare service in our home. We called Real Star and asked them to check it out. The pictures clearly showed that the property was being used as a daycare, but they couldn't provide solid evidence, so the complaint was dismissed. After that, we decided not to renew with Real Star or our tenants.

Two weeks after the tenants moved out, we received our keys back and there were "no damages" and no charges. However, when my realtor took over the property, it had a strong smell of weed. I called Real Star and told them about it, but they claimed it had been more than a month since the tenants left, which wasn't true. They then arranged for my realtor to visit the property and said that during the inspection, they suspected the tenants were growing weed, but couldn't prove it, so they didn't charge them.

We recently moved back into our home in Killeen after being gone for 2 and a half years due to a military Permanent Change of Station. My tenants had placed a few work orders for AC, which seemed odd since the unit was only 2 years old. On 2 different occasions, less than 3 months apart, I was charged nearly $600 from Quality Air Service of Temple. I read the work order details on the first one, and it said that the company put 10 pounds of 410a and charged close to $250. On the second work order, which was no less than 3 months apart, it said that they tightened loose wires and did some kind of cleaning, and I got charged nearly $300. I called the owner of the AC company in Temple, and he sounded somewhat defensive of the services performed, so I called Real Star and requested all work orders go through me. The maintenance tech tried to caution against it, but I successfully changed it so work orders would go through me. A few months after the tenants placed a work order claiming the AC didn't work and of a strange smell. I contacted a local company, and they cleaned the condenser and said the AC worked fine, and they only charged me the service fee to go to the home and did not charge me for parts or labor. Now that I moved back, my fence is damaged, and after providing 2 different estimates and getting the one of the lesser dollar amount approved, I conveniently only owe Real Star Property Management only $591. I'm being charged for the utilities while the home was getting prepped for me and my family after the tenants left, which is understandable, but I'm also being charged for services done to correct normal wear and tear like nails in the wall, painting, my carpets, and even my flower bed. There are still several nails and screws in the wall, spots where paint is chipped or scraped, stains on my carpet, and upon inspection, the weed preventer/tarp in my flower bed was never changed, so we had to take all the mulch out, replace the weed preventer tarp, and put new mulch on. My fence is damaged to the point that it leans halfway into the neighbor's yard, and several pickets have been chewed by the tenant's dog. Also, the company that provides the services to replace the normal wear and tear, Standard Maintenance Company LLC, has the owners of Real Star Property Management as their president and vice president. I have several pictures to prove that those services were not performed as claimed, and the painting they did was used with gloss finish paint, but my walls are painted with eggshell finish, so there are several blotches of shiny spots on my walls, in addition to several nail holes and several nails and screws still in the wall. My wife emailed these pictures to Isaac and even called, but apparently, he went to lunch and never returned her call. I guess the only bright side is that I have until the end of the year to pay them the $591 I owe them.
