I am requesting another Compensation and Pension Exanimation. On 07/12/2023, the exam was suppposed to be about the Migraine Headaches I suffer which was to be the focus of the exam. From the time I walked into the examiners room to me walking out the door, took less than 10 minutes. During which time, I was not asked or allowed to tell the Nurse practitioner how my condition affects me. The first question asked of me was the nature of my visit. I explained that I was there because of the dibilitating affect of the migraines I suffer. I was asked if I took medication for the condition and what that medication was to which I responded. I was then asked what did I do if I run out of medications and had a migraine. I stated that I used prescribed pain medication and in the past I had used alcohol to cope with the pain, although I reinterated that the drinking had stopped over a year and a half ago and I now regularly attend AA meetings. The entire focus of her exam changed to my relationship with drinking and the legitimate medical issues of migraines became of minimal concern with respect to her focus. At one point I felt as if I was under tremendous scrutiny about drinking to the point of her checking my eye movement consistant with a field sobriety test. of the exam turned direction and became the focus of her queries and we never again visited my migraines again, her focus was entirely on drinking, which was very frustrating as that has not been a factor in my life for over a year and a half it however became her present focus for the exam. In closing i was prohibited from presenting my statement nor my witnesses Statement in support of claim. I am requesting another Compensation an Pension Examination so that the VA will be provided a more accurate and complete report of my conditions. Nurse practicioners and physicians assistants should NOT be presumed competent to render medical opinions in a Compensation and Pension Exam.
