PSG Surveys unethical behaviour

Disgusting, crafty, company! Sends letters to your neighbours after looking at planning applications telling them to instruct PSG and you will pay, total vultures! Our neighbours have stated that they felt under pressure to sign, and that it was implied that they needed to go with PSG and not our Party Wall surveyor.
Once we pointed out all the poor reviews which are all over the internet to our neighbour, and the lack of need for an additional surveyor they were devastated they had fallen for this, and immediately asked PSG to cease and not to do any works. PSG then tried to say that we owed them 3 hours for works they had already done at a rate of £180 plus VAT per hour. When we challenged what work they could possibly have done, and asked for a breakdown, they then stated to forget hours, and that to not do the works we owed them £540 plus VAT! Daylight robbery! Needless to say we will now postpone our build so that we don't have to give this horrible person a penny of our hard earned money! The man seems to have no scruples at all!

PSG Surveys surveyor

Contacted my elderly neighbour and persuaded him to sign a form that confused this person into thinking they were at serious risk unless a survey was conducted.

I spoke to the individual who confirmed, as I suspected, that he had no qualifications, did not belong to a professional body and had never been to the area where we lived. He also was not aware of our planning application.

If you are approached be mindful of new gdpr legislation - you should ask to do a subject access request and if no response within 40 days, take the buggers to court. Horrible individuals.

PSG Surveys dishonest letter asking me to instruct them at my neighbour's expense

My neighbour has applied for planning permission for an extension on the far side of his house so the Party Wall Act does not apply.
PSG wrote to me asking me to appoint them, saying the following in bold letters.
Paid by your neighbour.
If your neighbour has sent a party wall notice do not sign the notice, send it to us.
PSG also ignore the fact that if the Party Wall Act did apply it would save my neighbour a lot of money if I appointed my neighbour's surveyor.
Had I been fooled by this crooked letter PSG would have charged my unwitting neighbour hundreds of pounds for unwarranted work.
I have reported PSG to Trading Standards – watch this space.

We have the same experience with our neighbours with PSG company. As our neighbours are eldery people they were led to believe they had to sign the letter send to them. They never replied to my email when I was enquiring about the cost. I only learned about it when he sent the invoice of £1560 for only one party wall survey! This is nothing less but legalised daylight robbery - the law needs to be changed and protect us from nonprofessionals shaming the industry!

Hi, Did you have to pay the money? We are in the same situation at the moment.

We believe our neighbours have received the same letter and will be discussing with them how we can move forward. I completely agree that the tone of this letter is misleading and assumes a Party Wall Surveyor must be appointed in all situations. My main concern is that our neighbour is not properly informed.

This guy sent a letter to my neightbour informing them that I had instructed him to act on my behalf for the party wall during our building works. He told them to sign a form and send back to him which they did. He then sent me a letter to say that my neighbour had instructed him to act on their behalf and that my plans for the build may be sent directly...
