I don't know about the Kohl's return policy where your located but the one i work at our return policy is very very good. We have had people bring in soaking wet bathing suits we accepted them and gave them there money back. There was a man who this summer of 08 bring in bags of clothes with receipts dated [protected] my coworker from Customer Service spent over 1 hr going through clothes and receipts, giving him cash back and KMRC( merchandise Credit). Now that's good customer service and return policy.
I work at kohls and let me say i hate Visa and American express gift cards. I had customers go completed crazy when i told them that they couldn't use a Amex or Visa gift card with there regular credit card, this is before i even ring the purchase up so that they know. I then nicely explain that i can put there Gift card amount on to one of our gift cards but no they don't want that they scream and insist on using it. untill the manger has to come and explain that our machines take the gift card as a credit card and its nothing we can really do about it. So i am sorry that happened to you and you should have not been treated that way.
I'm a kohls cashier and its a tough job really it is.
You start of by saying Hi how are you? only to get no respond or a grunt by a disgruntled customer who decided to come to a DEPARTMENT STORE on there lunch break during the holiday season who waited in line all of 10 mins.
Next your trying to ring up the merchandise making sure you didn't scan anything twice or not scan at all.
you occasionally glance at the prices but the customer really should try to catch them but isn't because there on there phone. but they make sure they watch you really good when your taking off that 15% 20% or 30% coupon. before you even asked if they want to open a kohls charge they swiped there credit or debit card so you say push the credit debit button and then as there signing they look at the screen and say Oh what pants are 55.98?
So then they get nasty with you b/c you have to assume that they didn't want pants for that price then call a manager who then does a simple void after then your left to re-ring up all the merchandise.
So don't complain about a Cashier yes there are some nasty one out there but maybe when they came into work they were happy and upbeat only to have one screaming customer to ruin there day
BTW: We wern't hired to look at every single tag we ring up we were hired to just ring up the merchandise and if anything is wrong adjust it. not spend 30 mins looking @ every single item. belive me it takes a long time i had to do it spent nearly 35 mins on one customer doing just that do you think she was pleased? No.

I'm not 100% sure but i believe you can pay your bill online. No we cannot tell how much you owe we don't have the ability to access that we're not corporate its only so much we can do. and you should be happy about that with all the identity theft and scams going on you don't want a disgruntle employee messing with your account do you?
No you cannot pay another credit card with a credit card. you should be happy thats how people become in debt. yes its a debit card but for the 100000th time It takes it as a CREDIT CARD if it has Visa, Or MasterCard Logo its A Debit Card/Credit Card. Do not take it out on the store call corporate and let them know how you feel maybe it will change somethings. And maybe you should keep track of how much you spend then that way if you don't have your bill you can have a estimate.
I'm sorry you experiance that. its not at all Kohls. We can't accuse at all or we're fired on the spot. I'm surprise the manager didn't speak to the cashier. We get spoken to when we don't give bags out. We're forced to give the customer a bag and Shoe box we have to stand there and look stupid and give them the box anyway or we're in trouble but your never directly accused unless its on tape so i'm sorry its not all Kohls.
I work there and they do that to me. ( i'm of african american background) Lets just say Kohls isn't that diverse and i don't blame you i hate working there.
I was told by a manager if you pay with cash or debit card and you have the original receipt you get cash back, everything else is KMRC or better known as Merchandise Credit. If you don't' like Kohls you should have told your daughter this ahead of time therefore you wouldn't be in this situation. Your money? Its your daughters money.
If she paid with a Credit card and gave you the original receipt you still would get back KMRC.
I agree with Dozer. people would be running scams
this is a good thing for parents or people who have relatives on Drugs they can't get cash back.
