Trevorr - In seasonal items I was refering to something like clothing. I would understand not putting Halloween costumes on Layaway! lol! As for the thievery going on, I just don't see how these things are not caught a heck of a lot sooner. "They" say "everything is on camera", so I why aren't they caught? You would think with the Telxon and everything that they would notice quicker. At least on something so scarce as the Wii. But then, we don't have security guards, either. And only 2 people check in the high dollar stuff and then they bring it directly to the department. So if anything is missing, the first place to look would be the 2 people checking it in.
Yeah, we had an Assistant Manager fired for "Integrity issues". And for almost a year, no one got their MyShare bonuses and a hiring freeze. I heard the regional manager got fired for embezzling. Some how that affected the bonuses. So i don't understand why Walmart didn't make good on those bonuses and issue them to the associates that worked hared for them! I wouldn't have gotten any of them anyway as I was a recent hire. Some people are only honest to a oint, then see an opening and steal like hell! You would think there would be many safeguards for this!
At the Walmart in my area, lanes 17 and 18 are where you have to go for tobacco. Lane 1 is the 10 item or less lane. Either way, someone is always going to be unhappy with the way it is set up. Although why anyone would buy their smokes there is beyond me. They are more expensive at Walmart than just about anywhere else.
If you have the receipt for the weedeater, Walmart wil probabably refund your money. The return policy on that item I believe is 90 days, unless it is posted somewhere. I have seen a pair of rose clippers (VERY BIG ONES) returned after the season and it was still within the return date and a refund was given. I have also seen used garbage cans returned.
How did money get on the card? If you win something, you never have to pay to receive it.
I would contact Corporate on this to have them look into it.
No one seems to cmplain about their purchases being checked at Costco. They expect it. I don't see the big deal. It took all of, what, 2-3 seconds? I always leave my receipt out until I leave the store, just in case. It is NOT a personal attack against you, for crying out loud!
Maybe Walmart should pipe in some Rap music. Or maybe Bluegrass! Or how about some Emo? And I highly doubt it was "Arab" music anyway. Maybe it sounded like it to you because you are hearing impaired and only hear certain sounds that all sound the same. Why don't you just fill up an Mp3 player with "Christian" music and listen to it when you shop? As for the "Islamic" hot dog vender? Most white males would consider it beneath them to hawk hotdogs all day! Most young men think they should be paid $15 an hour for working at a gas station or McDonald's!
So you didn't mention if the return was successful or not. If it was, then what is all the fuss?
It was not deliberate. There would be absolutley no point to that. As for the credit card company, they needed you to verify as to thwart fraud. I mean, 2 $1000 computers being purchased at different stores IS mighty suspicious! On ANY expensive purchase, verify the product before you purchase it and leave the store.
Costco and Sam' Club (a company owned and operated by Walmart) check your receipts and no one complains. Why do people feel so indignant and personnally attacked. Theft is getting out of hand and this is a VERY small way to try to deter it. It is just another sign of the future, like having to wear a seatbelt, putting your kids in carseats, mandatory vehicle insurance. Now these things are "normal". Get used to it or stay home!
Lately, Walmart has been cutting a tremendous amount of associates that are on the floor. Where 2 years ago we would have 5-6 people in the Electronics Department, now there is only 2-3! We aren't ignoring the customers, they are just spreading us thin. We don't have enough associates to to hold hands with the customers while they shop. Every body is stressed in this ecomomy. Maybe a lot of Associates don't have their happy face on, because their hours have been cut and they are deciding if they can afford milk at dinner. Getting your hours cut 5-7 hours a week is NOT pleasant!
Why does everyone feel that the moment they walk into Walmart, every Associate should be there to be waiting on them hand and foot! Electronics is a specialty department. The knowledge we have to learn is overwhelming. Then customers expect us to know EVERYTHING about EVERY product, then get upset when we don't. This is Walmart, folks. Not the Waldorf! And when a customer calls, they want us to be their personal shoppers and give them the price. Then they ask you to go look at some thing else. I've had several calls where a customer wants to know every tv we carry and the prices. We had a customer the other day who didn't want to bend over to look at a prepaid phone! We aslo hate the people who just wander in, unload their full shopping carts on the counter and then just stand there waiting for one of us (who IS with a customer) to come over and ring them up. Then they say something stupid, like "Is this register open?"! People think the Associates are uneducated? What about the customers? Every day I am truly amzed that over 50% of the customers are even capable and competent to take care of themselves in society. Then they have the gall to say we are rude. Try explaining a product to some one who has obviously been drinking (and probably drove to the store) and you are trying not to gag from the alcohol breath and at the same time be "pleasant". I see probably over 1000 people a day up close and personal. Imagine the odds of how many of those people are rude to us! Stop complaing and get over it! Oops, sorry to go on, but reading these things makes me wonder how anyone would even want to be in retail. It would be nice if some positive feedback could occur for positive shopping experiences.
I just can't believe that some one would allow a 9 year old child to go into a store, and under the watchful eye of their guardian, take the caps off shampoo containers to smell them! Are companies going to have to shrink wrap shampoo now? I have never met a 9 year old involved in the process of chosing which shampoo to buy, if that was what she was doing. I think she was just doing what she wanted. Great lessons for the next generation! Total disregard. I don't want to purchase shampoo that had sombody's nose in it! Gross!
Walmart is NOT your personal bank! They cash payroll and Government checks as a courtesy, not a right! Get a life and get a bank account!
