This has nothing to do with the real Google.
Just so everyone knows.
Agreed, it is a scam, but has nothing to do with the real Google.
Making money on line for real isn't easy and you don't make millions. There is no easy money, unless you happen to be one of the scammers.
Hydro One (ie: the old Ontario Hydro) is definitely one of the most expensive electrical providers in Ontario. Your costs seem rather exhorbitant, even for them. Given your location, I wonder if it's the distribution cost that is really high, as opposed to your cost per kwh. Do you know what the per kilowat hour costs are for your area? They should show on your bill. For instance our pkwh fee is 5.6 cents (small town, with town owned power company).
I don't know if your community currently has the options for the smart meters yet - they will eventually be installed at all homes. Smart meters might help in at least establishing exactly how much energy you are consuming, but I suspect it might be the energy costs that are the highest parts of your bill.
If you aren't supposed to be paying the "pay down" fees for Ontario Hydro's over-spending, and you aren't paying taxes, you certainly would think you bills would be considerably lower than they are.
@ wb2009 - Um, they do tend to be scammers in the sense that they you have a 7 day trial, which begins the day you order it. And you often don't even receive the product within the 7 days because they delay shipping to ensure you don't receive it in time to cancel. I won't list the hundreds of people I've seen complaining about that issue.
@momof3 - good luck with your refund. I hope it comes through before they charge you a couple more times - that's usually what happens.
Probably not unless your contract states something to the effect that if you don't gain any business from it you can stop paying, I doubt that's the case. Yellow Pages doesn't work that way. They guarantee to place the ad in their listings, but I don't think they guarantee increased business.
I guess you will no longer be shopping there.
They are unlikely to ban anything, just cause you don't happen to like the contents. Kids certainly don't view these books as a problem, and a Christian I see them as nothing more than fables and fairy tales.
Churches and religious schools may have banned them, but they don't rule the world or make the rules. And, as far as I know, our library still carries not only copies of Harry Potter books, but DVDs as well.
Actually, you would still owe a lot if all they have you paying is the minimum payment every month. Just like a mortgage. You can pay that for 10 years and still not have paid off more than a couple of thousand dollars. It all in how they calculate the interest.
A piece of advice for future - no matter where you borrow from - never just pay the minimum required payment. Pay 25% more than they ask for every month.
You didn't sign up for Google Ads.
Google's AdSense program is free.
You signed up with a scammer who illegally uses the Google name.
Well, when you sign up for those "packets", there is a Terms of Service you need to read.
They usually say you have 7 days to cancel your account, and if you don't cancel in 7 days they take these monthly fees. The biggest trick of all is that they rig it so you don't receive the package til long after your 7 days are up...the 7 days start the minute you sign up for the packet.
This has nothing to do with Google or the Google AdSense program, which is totally free.
It's scammers (the "google" scam can be found under hundreds of different names) using Google's name and their AdSense program to trap consumers into buying a "program" that guarantess "big money".
AdSense doesn't work that way, and doesn't pay big dividends...certainly not for many, many months after you get started.
I hope you went back where you got the packet and cancelled your account right away.
I'm sorry to tell you this, but you didn't buy this from Google.
You bought it from a scammer using Google's name.
Google doesn't charge for it's AdSense program. It's free. No cost, no kits to buy.
You need to go back to the website you bought it from and cancel your account, because when you signed up for the $1 or $1.97 kit you signed up for the "program". The information is there in the very very fine print. They charge you a monthly fee. You need to dispute this with your bank and/or credit card.
Suing google will get you nada, except legal fees, because this has nothing to do with them.

What a load of garbage. Proof, got any?
This has nothing at all to do with Google.
Unfortunately, it is a scam and you were taken in. They are using the google name ilegally.
The AdSense program that is run by Google is free. They do not charge anything to sign up, and nothing at all to use the ads on your site to earn money.
You are lucky you actually got someone to cancel your account. Many of these scams run, there are hundreds of different names for it. And thousands of people who have been unable to reach anyone to cancel their accounts.
Google didn't rob you, but someone sure did.

This has nothing to do with Google actually, it's a scam. And if you bought the products on ebay, then yes you did give them your information.
These might only cost a few dollars to get, but it's listed as a "trial" for free, you pay shipping. Then, if you don't cancel in 7 days they start charging you the monthly fee. The 7 day free trial starts the minute you "order" the thing. Which means you usually don't even receive the product until long past the 7 days are up.
Google AdSense services are free.
Have a look at this site: http://scam-googletreasurechest.blogspot.com/2009/07/ftc-vs-google-treasure-chest.html
The person who wrote that site has been through the same sort of thing, and there's lots of information on what you can do about it.
This has nothing at all to do with Google.
These guys are scammers who illegally trade on the Google name and reputation. Google's AdSense services are totally, completely free. There is no charge to apply for an AdSense account, and there is no charge to earn money from AdSense.
If you understood anything at all about the real Google, then you'd know that most of their consumer services are free.
That popup wasn't from Google. They don't use popups for advertising. They also don't sell products. The only "make money" thing they have is AdSense, and it's free.
Probably because you ordered a trial of their "scam product" and gave them your credit card info without reading the fine print. You have 5 days to cancel the trial and if you don't cancel in 5 days, you start paying the monthly fee. The unfortunate part is that you might not even get the product within the 5 days.
You need to go back where you got it and cancel that. Then either cancel your credit card, or dispute charges. If you used your bank card, then do the same with your bank.
This is NOT a "GOOGLE" company.
It has nothing to do with google. All I got to say is "show me your proof" that this company is owned by google, cause it sure as hell isn't.
This company is a scam, and it's been around for a long time. Under various reincarnations of it's name. You can contact google, but you won't get anywhere since they don't have anything to do with these people. There's lots of these companies all across the web - different names, but all of them are illegally using the Google trademark and name.
I suggest you take it up with your Attorney General or States Attorney. This company already has lots of complaints against them.
What is the names of the two programs you bought?
Your title says "spybot", but Spybot Search & Destroy is a free program, so it couldn't have been that one.
It looks like MBDetails is a company that does the billing for a lot of different internet sales, so unless you have the names of the products or the websites you purchased them from, you won't have a lot of luck.
I'm not sure whether or not you can actually get anywhere, but have you tried disputing this with your bank or credit card? If you have phone numbers and emails that are not answered and provide that, you might get them (bank or credit card) to place a chargeback.
I found a little more about them that might be helpful to you in getting the charged removed.
The website HP Hosts (lists harmful sites) has MBDetails listed as an "FSA" category. According to them: FSA - sites engaged in the selling or distribution of bogus or fraudulent applications
The record for that is here: http://www.hosts-file.net/?s=mbdetails.com
