Um, the driver of the Coke car wasn't at fault?

So that would mean you folks were?

That being the case, why are you questioning them want to collect?

Your insurance should cover this. Unless of course you were driving around on a tractor with no insurance.

I'm sorry, but I don't see this as a valid complaint. If they had hit you, you'd want to be paid for your damages wouldn't you?

We don't pay gratuities added to our bill when it's not our choice. A tip or gratuity is for good service. When they earn it, they get it. Restaurants don't have the right (far as I'm concerned) to charge you for gratituities.

But...18% is not a great tip. Minimum tip (standard) is 20% here. We give more when the service was great.

Ask the pharmacist if they carry a "generic" variety of the drug. Most of these types of medication have generic versions which cost about half the price. Cialis (according to data from the doctor's drug reference book) has effects that are supposed to last up to 36 hours, which means you don't need all that many of them (2 a week maybe?) in a month. $16.50 a pill is a pretty hefty price, but I have no idea what the normal pharmaceutical cost for that is. Anyway, I'd recommend checking at different pharmacies and asking if there is a less expensive alternative - just ask your doctor if there is one that is less expensive.

I'd be leary of any on-line pharmacy offering huge discounts - they probably are not safe, and as you unfortunately discovered, they are often nothing more than placebos.
A few questions:

1) Is this a new computer?

2) When Norton "pops up" what is the message?
If you don't want it, then uninstall all the Norton products on your computer.

First thing to do is run the uninstall and see if that stops it.

If it doesn't, you might need to download the Norton Removal Tool afterwards - you can download it here for free http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039.

DO NOT RUN THAT TOOL UNLESS THE FIRST UNINSTALL DOESN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

DO you have a copy of the warranty? And of the receipt?

With Canadian Tire you have to read everything. A lot of warranties on repairs are not transferrable, and it says when the purchaser. The warranty may only be applicable to the person who purchased it, not to the next owner of the car.

While I have no love for "Crappy Tire", it isn't their fault if the warranty wasn't transferrable. The person who sold you the car should have told you it wasn't.

We never use them for car repairs.

That has nothing to do with Moneybookers. The scam was by the lady, not moneybookers.

I use moneybookers rather than paypal. Moneybookers has been way better than paypal and I handle my business transactions through them with no problems.

Your problem isn't with moneybookers.

To be honest, I don't care at all about orange pop. Hate the stuff. Matter of fact, I don't drink pop at all. It's bad for you. Don't give it to my grandkids either.

Drink water. They've got that everywhere.

Generally what happens in most restaurants is that the drink lines are contracted, so if Coke has the contract, only coke products will be in the pop dispensers. If another mfg. has the contract, only their products are sold in the dispensers.

Lots of restaurants...most I can think of are the same.

How is the bank responsible? Most of these online shopping jobs are not real. You need to blame the company who sent the cheque, since they are the ones who didn't send a "real" one.

You also should check out online and anywhere else ANY online money-making scheme before you sign on. Generally, if something is too good to be true...it isn't true at all.

No real company I know of sends you money and asks you to cash it and send part of it back.
We have stayed at many different Days Inn's and have always been pleased. We've never had anyone (not managers, nor desk clerks, not servers or even cleaners) be rude to us.

Your missing the reservation was too bad, but why didn't you call when it was apparent you wouldn't make the reservation? This sort of policy is used by almost every hotel chain we've ever used, and I'm pretty sure you'd be aware of the policies and the very least make a phone call, instead of waiting til you were charged for it.

This is really not a valid complaint since the fault was yours.
No, I didn't overlook the point of the complaint. You must have missed the last line of my post.

You really shouldn't give out that sort of information on an internet forum. Giving people your full name and address is an invitation to identity theft. You need to contact the forum administration and ask them to remove your complaint because of the personal information. Down at the bottom of the page is a link for e-mail. Click that and send an email to the forum admin.
Vista Print.ca lists return address labels as $4.99 and vistaprint.com (US) lists them as $3.74. That's the regular price though. There current specials aren't on address labels.

I've ordered stuff from vista print (canadian one) with no problems. Don't know what happened there with the address labels, but I've recommended vista to others who have purchased things without problems also, so I don't class vista as a scam, but something seems to have been wrong...do you happen to remember which vista website you were on?

It doesn't install any toolbar on my computer. I've got it on four computers in our house and I've never had to install the toolbar. We've got firefox on 3 computers, and IE on one. Wonder what's up with that install.

You should be able to uninstall the toolbar part though - here: http://free.avg.com/faq.num-1241#faq_1241

After reading that, I understand why we didn't get it - I have my preferences set to disable the link scanner.
Why would you buy a pair of shoes without trying them on in the store? Secondly, why would you throw the box away before you even tried them on? This really isn't the store's fault if you couldn't take the time to ensure the shoe fit before you purchased it.

I think you might have gotten a defective pair, but to say they (Thom McCan shoes) are a "scam" is a little strong. Did you try to return the shoes yet?

I purchased 3 pairs of Thom McCan shoes last year in November while visiting the US (at a K-Mart in Georgia) and all three pairs are still in excellent shape.

Before you make a public complaint you should at least try to resolve the problem with either K-Mart or the manufacturer.

I'm afraid I can't help you getting a refund from that company, but if your computer still is infected, I can show you where to go to get some real help.

Try this site: http://forums.whatthetech.com/forums.html (What The Tech)

They'll tell you how to fix it, step by step and tell which is the best software to use, and I can guarantee most of the software they'll list for you will be free (Open Source). And it works. Better than most of the software you pay for. Not only that, their assistance in walking you through a PROPER fix is...delightfully...also free.

Start with the "site orientation" forum and read that - it will tell you how to get started.

Go to your gmail account and in the upper right hand corner select the "settings" link.

Then click on the "accounts" tab (there should be tabs for general, accounts, labels, filters, etc.)

The second option down is "get mail from other accounts" and just below that option it says "learn more" - click that.

On the next page is a tab for "other issues" (that's the last option).

That tells you how to turn off the mail fetcher option.

I'm not sure what the complaint really is...the TV is an "LG" so the warranty of 1 year is probably the mfg. warranty, not the store warranty. You should complain to LG. Or you should have purchased the extended warranty. The parts aren't under warranty, so you'd still be paying for them no matter who did the repair. You expected the store to obtain the part from the mfg. at no cost?

And in truth, as much as it sucks, today's products (especially electronics) are basically designed to last only a year, though most will last longer. That's why most warranties are only for 1 year (what I've been told, at least 3 times by 3 different sources now). It seems with a lot of stuff in today's manufacturing, it's almost as expensive (if not more sometimes) to repair the product than to buy a new one.

34 years ago when we got a TV as wedding gift it was a 25" (big back then) and came with a 5 year warranty (it's expected life span, but it's still going strong with two minor repairs - replacement knobs and 1 tube), but the cost was $675.00 for that TV. Today you can buy a 25" lcd TV for about $200, which essentially is a repair cost on that old TV.

I'd probably expect (like most people) that it actually would last more than a year (maybe 3 yrs.) before needing expensive repairs, but yours is not the first complaint I've seen about LG products.

Okay, I've just realized you took a new gmail account; I have one of the accounts from their start-up.

From that page you posted, look on the right had side for a heading that says "Recommended Articles". The first one should be "Mail Fetcher". Click on that and you should come to the page in my third step with the tabs. Look for the tab that says "other issues".

When that page loads it tells you how to disable the mail fetcher.
I am sorry to tell you this, but things were different for you and I. Teachers no longer scold or admonish children in class, as thats a surefire way to get a parent to file a complaint, which puts you on automatic probation.
Not where I live it's not. Teachers DO still remind children not to speak in class without raising your; not to speak with other students during class; not to be disruptive; etc. Children in our schools receive punishment for offenses if they've been warned about them. Can't imagine a school that doesn't deal with this kind of thing, because if there was, then there'd be precious little teaching or learning happening.

Besides, that really wasn't the point of the complaint.

On the point of the original topic - I totally agree. Those pop-in ads for other shows in the middle of a movie or program drive me insane. It's particularly annoying because I watch very little TV anyways - a good movie, maybe once a week (if there's one on), two shows on Friday night that I like, and sometimes History channel's "ancient civilizations". Not much more. It's getting so you don't want to watch at all.

Apart from those complaints...I'm really fed up with all that reality crap. We have reality in our lives every day. Give me something entertaining for crying out loud.

Are you on Canada's National Do Not Call list?

If not, get on it. Here: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/insnum-regnum-eng

It takes a few weeks (3 wks to a month I think) for it to kick in.

However, once it kicks in if they continue to call you, then you report them.

Company's you have or still do business with have the right to continue calling you. Currently companies can be stopped by having them remove you from their call list, unless it is a specific problem with your account. Companies you no longer do business with but have done business with during the past 18 months may call you for up to 18 months after your association with them has ended.

Make sure you keep track of the phone numbers that these calls are coming from - you'll need that to file a report. The page I linked above has a place to file complaints as well.

The DNCL has actually (and finally) begun to work for us. We got on when it first came out, however there seemed to be some problems with the early list because we got MORE calls after signing on. A couple of months back I rechecked the list and our name and number was missing, so I signed on again. Last month, almost all our telemarketing calls just stopped. Only one company has called after the list kicked in - they called twice, two days in a row. The first day I requested no more calls and reminded them to check the DNCL list. The second day, I told them again about the DNCL list and told them if I received one more call from them, I'd report their number and company. There are hefty fines for ignoring the list.

To date, I haven't received any more calls from them.

Good luck.

Well, "non-refundable" means...non-refundable. Did you buy insurance on the tickets?

To be honest, pretty much all airlines will have similar policies on "non-refundable" tickets and the fact that you knew they were non-refundable means you really haven't got much of a complaint.

If they make an exception for one person (ie: you) they'd have to make exceptions for everyone with any sort of valid excuse.

Are you saying you purchased "Open Office"? Because Open Office is "Open Source" or "FREE" software...there's not cost to get it.

When you saved the document or file in Open Office did you save it as an MS Word document? Open Office has export options for saving in different formats; it won't automatically do it, you have to select the format.
You should not have thrown the packet away. You should first have contacted the manufacturer, who most likely would ask that you send them the package with any remaining product in it.

They can't have their labs check anything without that. Besides this "piece of glass" being accidentally inserted during the packaging process, it could easily have been inserted through the packing by anyone outside the company who handled the product. Without the package, the company will not be able to follow this up properly.

The only thing they could not is issue a recall on that Lot No., but without some form of proof, they may not do it.
