Voluntary Repossession, car was auctioned and sold by the Pen Air
Voluntary Repossession, car was auctioned and sold by the Pen Air. Pen Air is charging me for the full price of the vehicle. I purchased a 2012 Mercedes Benz C250 financed through Pen Air. My car was vandalized. Tires were stabbed and substance put into the gas tank which caused my engine to lock. The insurance company gave me $600 to repair but the new engine cost $2500. I had just been out in disability and lost my job.. so I wasn't working. I Voluntarily allowed them to pick up the vehicle once I got behind in payments on the payments. One month later the car was sold for $12,000 at the auction in Pensacola. At the time the remaining balance in my loan was $15,000. After the sale of the vehicle I should owe the bank $3,000. However Pen Air reported its to the credit bureaus at me owing over $15,000. After I disputed this they first sold the debt To debt collector. I disputed the account again. Pen air then started to report it in my credit reports instead of the collection agency, then they reported it as a charge off... bad debt then received the tax benefits from it. After I disputed it once again Pen air started charging me interest. I have a print out from equifax showing as such. As a result I'd like the correct amount owed shown and Pen Air to not take advantage of disabled vets like myself.
