Palmetto Solar review: Terrible response and service

My system was installed and within only one month of use, the inverter failed. And for days, it went unnoticed. They didn’t reach out. They didn’t notify me. Only once I opened the app to randomly check on things did I see that there was a “critical error” detected in the system. It prompts you to wait to see if it can be remedied remotely. I waited. Nothing. So I reach out. No responses for days. Finally get a response, they say they will try to fix it remotely…as if nothing had even been done up to this point. Chats, emails, phone calls - all went unanswered for days and sometimes weeks until they confirm the system is not working and cannot be fixed remotely. So they will send a tech out. Okay great - almost two weeks until someone can get here. They get here, finds the bad inverter (again only 30 days of production use before it failed), and replaces it. All is good for production.
However - I ask about a refund of the month that I paid for solar (and electricity) when their system was not operable. I get delayed responses again, and then they just close my case and mark it as resolved. They state it’s because they evaluate production guarantees every 3 years, per the contract. Well the contract also states that they will notify me of production issues, which they did not. And also that they will fix the situation in a timely manner. I wouldn’t call one month’s time an appropriate amount of time! If my furnace was broken and I had a service contract with an HVAC company to fix it, would it be okay to wait 30 days without heat? Of course not.
So as much as I like the system when it’s working, their product clearly is a failure, you need to check the production daily to ensure no problems, their customer service is absolutely terrible, and they try to skate-by without doing the right thing when there’s an issue. Avoid at all costs. Terrible company.
