Misleading Sales Promises, Higher Electric Bills, Roof Leaks & Terrible Service!

I strongly caution anyone considering Palmetto Solar. My experience has been a nightmare from the beginning.

When we purchased our home, we had lived there less than TWO MONTHS. The sales representative estimated our electricity usage based on questions about our household and consumption habits. We were promised significant savings and that our solar system would offset our electricity usage.

Instead, we now pay $251 MONTHLY for solar PLUS approximately another $251 to TECO! Our system has NEVER produced what we were promised.

When I contacted Palmetto, a representative claimed our system was sized using our previous 12 months of electric bills. IMPOSSIBLE! We had lived there less than two months! She then acknowledged the salesperson likely forgot to account for charging our Tesla.

Rather than correcting their mistake and adding panels to meet the original expectations, their solution was that WE COULD PAY FOR MORE PANELS! Absolutely ridiculous!

Then things got worse. We experienced a roof leak caused by the solar installation, with water entering our home. It took OVER A MONTH for a technician to arrive. On October 2, 2026, he temporarily repaired the leak and said a replacement part was needed. We have received NO UPDATE since.

Even worse, I discovered the technician SHUT OFF OUR ENTIRE SOLAR SYSTEM without notifying us or explaining whether it was safe to restart! Meanwhile, we continue paying for a system that isn't operating.

We purchased solar to SAVE MONEY, not spend approximately $500 monthly between solar and TECO while dealing with roof leaks, poor communication, and unresolved repairs.

I am requesting financial compensation, permanent repairs, and accountability. I am seriously considering legal action to terminate this contract.

I feel completely misled and scammed. Palmetto Solar has failed to deliver the savings promised and has shown little accountability when problems arise.

BUYER BEWARE! I would NEVER recommend Palmetto Solar based on my experience.
