As a customer of Overhead Door Company of Huntsville/North Alabama, my experience was average. The service provided was satisfactory, but there were delays in response times and communication. The installation process was decent, but there were some minor issues that needed adjustment. Overall, it's a decent option, but improvements in responsiveness and attention to detail would enhance the customer experience.

Great company to work with! I had waited almost two weeks for another company to get back to me about replacing an opener. Called Overhead and they came the next day and Dan couldn't have been better! He explained the options for replacement, did a great job and then took the time to explain some features of the product. I am actually calling Overhead again today about our other garage door not working properly which was replaced last year by a different company (the one I waited two weeks to get back to me). Since I like the product installed by Overhead better (much quieter belt system not offered when the previous company replaced it) I may just have it replaced by their product. Thanks for your great service!

This is a commendation for Scotty V. for the excellent job he did in the installation of my family's new garage door opener and all the peripheral components. Scotty has a wonderful personality, and he readily answered our questions and provided additional information. He volunteered to program the remote controls of both of our vehicles, and he replaced our outside remote control, which is attached to the house, and programmed a new one replacing the old one.
Scotty works and communicates very completely and efficiently. It was a pleasure to watch him work and discuss what he was doing. We think that our garage opener works so well that we have a new garage system. Thanks to Scotty for a job well done.

Outstanding and professional experience! I was in need of assistance with tensioning the two/dual replacement torsion springs I installed on my two-bay garage door in mid-October 2022. The technician arrived at my property with all the tools necessary to get my main garage door back to 100%. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. He was extremely helpful in providing tips to keep my door in proper working order after my previous single torsion spring had snapped. He even inspected my other single bay garage door, which was working without issue. The technician went way beyond the simple spring tensioning I required. He is an asset to Overhead Door Company of Huntsville/ North Alabama and a throwback to premium customer service. I will use OHD of HSV for all of my future garage door needs.

We had a minor problem when my daughter forgot to open the garage door before she started to back out. Fortunately--other than minor adjustments--only the bottom door panel needed to be replaced; unfortunately, the door panels are the insulated variety, so it took a few weeks to get the needed panel in stock. The folks at Overhead Door Company of Huntsville were very helpful and professional. They called me as soon as the panel came in and we scheduled installation for the next day. The technician arrived at the house as scheduled. After explaining what he was going to do and about how long it would take, he completed the installation, and cleaned up behind himself. (A lost art these days, it seems--and we appreciate it.) Everything now works perfectly and you'd never know the door had been damaged. Thanks!

Said what they were going to do, then did it. When I called in the problem of a broken spring, The phone dispatcher tried to get a tech out immediately. None were available as it was late in the business day. She was very apologetic even though completely understandable. She said someone would be available the next day and would call when they were 30 minutes out. Promptly at 8:00 am the next day, Dan the tech called and arrived within 15 minutes. He told me the price for the work along with how long (~ 20 minutes) it would take to complete. Payment over the phone via credit card was simple and done in a minute or so. Dan was polite, respectful, and eager to answer any of my questions while he efficiently installed the new spring. He even gave a block of instruction on maintaining my garage door before leaving 20 minutes later.

This is a Class Act company, from the very pleasant and helpful receptionists Jess and Channing, to Mitchell who very patiently listened to our unusual needs, to Jerry the owner. They were able to provide service the very next day and the technician called 30 minutes before arriving, and arrived well within the time period of the appointment. Our technician Shawn was Amazing. He fixed everything even better that it was before to accommodate our new needs. He is very knowledgeable and displayed a great work ethic. He even noticed a need to improve the safety feature that we were unaware needed improvement, and we are grateful! It was obvious that he cared about us, the customer, and that he also took pride in his work. Overhead Door of Huntsville/North Alabama has provided service for us since 2014, and we are very happy to recommend this company!

I had occasion to call Overhead Door Company of Huntsville for a garage door repair and had decided beforehand to upgrade my current unit. The receptionist quoted me a price for the upgrade and scheduled a visit for the next day. A technician came out, diagnosed the existing problem, and quoted me again the same price for the upgrade as well as installation of an exterior keypad. The technician got right to work and had everything running smoothly in no time. He demonstrated how everything worked and went over maintenance of the system before leaving. My wife and I are very happy with the new unit and we couldn't be more pleased with the quick service. We have had Overhead Door Company products installed in all of our previous homes and are very satisfied with the brand. The Overhead Door Company of Huntsville carries on that fine tradition and I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Overhead Door Company of Huntsville did excellent work for us! Our garage door stopped closing on Sunday, and I called Sunday evening before they closed (a little before 8). They had a technician to us on Monday morning at 8:30am! Our technician was prompt and professional, and he did a wonderful job explaining what he thought the possible options could be, and potential costs, before getting started. He kept me informed with what was going on throughout, and identified the issue quickly (wiring) and got us back up and running quickly. He also explained the important steps to upkeep the garage door to keep it running longer, which I appreciated. I appreciated the fact that I didn't feel like he did more work than what was needed, and I feel like I could trust the work this company does moving forward, and definitely will call them again if we ever have issues!

Your service was impeccable and timely. My wife and I were unable to manually lift the door which prevented me from getting my vehicle out. However, your service technician skillfully lifted the door without any assistance (he indicated you had to know where to lift to be successful). He then explained the service he was performing (replacing the counter-balance spring) thoroughly and provided recommendations to me for preventive maintenance operations I could perform to extend the longevity of the door. Once the door was functional, he operated the door and made minor adjustments to improve the overall performance and eliminate some of the "squeaks and creaks" he noted when the door was operated. Overall my wife and I are completely satisfied with the service we received and our service technician couldn't be more highly recommended. Again thanks for the great work!

Upon arriving home last night I discovered our garage door wouldn't open. Once I inspected the door I discovered our spring was broken, I looked up the number for Overhead Door and called them just prior to their office closing for the evening. I explained the problem and the person ask if it was an emergency that the door be fixed tonight or could it wait until tomorrow? I said no emergency and that yes it could wait until tomorrow. We discussed the price to fix it and scheduled a time to have it fixed today. I was surprised to receive a call mid morning from Dan saying he'd be there in about 30 minutes. Sure enough Dan showed up 30 minutes later and once he inspected the problem it took him about 30 minutes to fix the problem. He was very nice & professional and even gave me some tips for preventative maintenance. Overall a great experience & I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new garage door or just a repair like we had done.

Scotty Johnson came to my house Jun 30, 2021 to check out one door that wouldn't open at all and another one that had recently become noisy and clunky-sounding. Turned out the one that wouldn't open at all was a very minor problem, quickly remedied. The noisy one needed a bit more, but was accomplished quickly and efficiently. He graciously answered my "how" and "why" questions and explained how some easily done preventive maintenance on my part would prevent future problems of the type I had.

His friendly, helpful, and pleasant personality was greatly appreciated. When finished, he asked if there was anything else he could do. I asked him if would see what the small black object at the edge of the lawn was on his way to his truck. He did and it took him 15 seconds to put my sprinkler head back to rights. I'd have been just as pleased with his identifying it! Service Above and Beyond! The office person who took my call was very courteous and helpful also. Thank you, Overhead Door and Scotty!

Overhead Door of Huntsville does not stand by their work. I had a nylon gear replaced in my opener last year and had them replace an outdoor keypad while they were here. I already had a LifeStyle screen door from another company that worked beautifully for years. I didn't notice it immediately, but when "Dan" replaced the gear ($269) he neglected to make sure the door was properly adjusted. As a result, the LifeStyle screen will not close because it does not clear the bottom of the raised garage door. Overhead Door wanted $125 to come out and adjust the garage door so the screen would close. Apparently "Dan" is the only technician willing to drive "all the way to Hazel Green" and no other technicians are available. I'm sorry, if "Dan" had done the job correctly the first time, I wouldn't need him to return. It is so disheartening to find a company in my home town of 65 years that does not stand behind their services. I want everyone to know this before they choose this company to install or repair anything.

Customer Service Representative was very polite and knowledgeable and listened to my concerns and requests but when it came down to the day which was scheduled 4 days ahead and that no one could be at the home before 3pm on a Friday(due to work schedule), I was told it would be in a block from 12 noon to 4pm, I then asked could we be last in the route due to his work schedule. She said not maybe but YES.

Come Friday I get a call from the technician approximately @ 1:58pm and said he was headed to us and I asked could he wait or make it later, he said sure but that we were his last. By the RING doorbell he arrived @2:20pm and drove off @2:38pm.

I called the office and asked for the manager or supervisor he informed me that the technician went to another job and they set it up by GPS and we were second to last. So the technician lied. Then they said they couldn't come out out at all today, mind you I called the office @3:01pm.

Bad business to tell someone something then go back on your agreement, then lie about the time.

I seldom follow up if I don't put a review out there at the time (which sad to say I often fail to do), but this company 100% deserves the solid reviews it has. I was worried it would take a long time, but I called in the late afternoon, and they apologized they couldn't get here until the next morning. Scotty had all of the tools and materials needed, and knocked out the spring replacement in no time. He mentioned the opener itself was likely going out. He guessed it's approximate age correctly and said it likely contributed to the spring going out (when I tried to tighter the chain). He later showed me where the sprocket was coming apart. Point is he asked if I'd like a new unit and gave me a deal and said he could knock it out in just a bit more time. Threw in a keypad as well. It fixed some other issues we were just living with (e.g., non-functional light), and the whole thing now is sooooo much quieter and nicer. This is one of the top companies we've ever dealt with. Scotty was both professional and personally relatable, wasn't slowed down one bit and we are extremely satisfied.

4pm Thursday my garage door wouldn't go all the way down. I thought I might need a new door. So I called Overhead Door Company of Huntsville/ North Alabama.

Why? Because they had serviced my garage door for years at my previous home. They were always dependable, courteous, professional and friendly. In 2008 they replaced my wooden garage door with a Overhead Door (R) Garage Door. They did a super installation. We moved into this home in 2016 and whenever I wanted service or help with my garage door, they were responsive and their charges were reasonable.

The Manager that answered the phone said they could work me in Friday if I only needed 30 minutes lead time. Thank you!

Friday mid-morning Scotty called and asked if he could come. Yes! Scotty was knowledgeable, experienced, friendly, understanding. Scotty explained what needed to be done temporarily to get the door to work properly. Told me that two of the five sections of the door needed to be replaced, how much they would cost and approximately when they would be here to be installed. Scotty to the rescue! Thank you Overhead Door Company of Huntsville/ North Alabama for being dependable, courteous, professional, knowledgeable, experienced, understanding and friendly!

Friday evening I heard the tension spring break on one of my garage doors. Within the hour, I called Overhead Door Company of Huntsville and a local live person on a Friday evening answered. The next day (Saturday), salesman/consultant [Name] came to my house to arrange for service and to answer my questions about some other concerns/problems I had with both of my garage doors (bad squeaks; a broken opener on the other, unused door). There was absolutely NO "sales pressure"; he didn't try to upsell me. In fact, I was thinking my 19-year-old doors might even need replacing, but he advised against it - said they were still in good condition. Monday, technician [Name] came. He arrived when he said he would and had the needed replacement spring for the first door and new opener for the second door. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything he was doing, explained the new opener's features, and answered all of my questions. He was very efficient and prompt, but gladly took the time to explain and answer. He cleaned up and left no mess. He took away the old broken spring and opener and the new opener's packaging. He lubricated both doors' hinges, springs, etc. I was very impressed that Overhead Door Company was available on the weekend. And I was VERY impressed with the knowledge and friendliness of all three employees I dealt with. They earned a five-star rating ... and my future business, as needs arise.
