We were promised six months of solar payments as part of signing our contract. Everything was installed and we fulfilled our end of the agreement, but the promised payment never came.
For weeks, my husband tried repeatedly to contact our sales representative, Joe Parkinson, and left multiple messages with both him and customer service. No one returned our calls. On May 19, we sent an email explaining the situation and asking for someone to contact us immediately. Instead of resolving the issue, we continued to be ignored.
Eventually, the company did respond by email, and we provided documentation supporting the promises that had been made. After receiving our documentation, they stopped responding altogether and completely ghosted us.
To make matters worse, we're now receiving sales calls from Our World Energy trying to sell us solar — as if we aren't already customers. The representatives have no idea we already have a system through their company, which is yet another example of the company's lack of communication and coordination, both internally and with its customers.
The issue isn't just the unpaid incentive — it's the complete lack of accountability and customer service. If a company makes promises to earn your business, it should honor those promises or, at the very least, communicate honestly when there is a problem. Ignoring customers after the sale is unacceptable.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Our World Energy. Even after we documented the promises we were given and provided that documentation to the company, they still failed to honor their commitments and stopped responding. If this is how they treat customers after the sale, don't expect written promises alone to protect you — they certainly didn't in our case.
Recommendation: Do not do business with this company
