We purchased our 2025 fifth wheel from Optimum RV expecting a safe, properly inspected, roadworthy unit. From delivery forward, our experience has been unacceptable and continues to deteriorate.
Our scheduled pickup was at 1:00 PM, yet we did not complete the walkthrough until nearly 8:00 PM. Due to darkness and poor preparation, we could not properly inspect the unit. It had not been detailed or adequately prepared. Within minutes of leaving the lot, the spare tire carrier fell and dragged on the roadway, creating an immediate safety hazard while our children were in the vehicle. This demonstrates a failure to complete even a basic safety inspection prior to release.
Since taking possession, we have uncovered numerous additional defects. The unit was delivered with one small battery that was insufficient and quickly failed. The trailer brakes were not functioning. The generator does not operate. The tank flush system floods the interior behind the living room television, raising serious concerns about hidden water damage and long-term structural issues.
Most recently, the slide-out has become completely inoperable, rendering the camper unusable. In addition, a water pipe behind the living room fireplace burst and sprayed water throughout the interior, causing further damage and increasing concerns about build quality and safety.
Despite repeated attempts to communicate with Optimum RV, they are now unresponsive. We are left with a financed unit that is unsafe, defective, and unusable, with no meaningful effort to repair or resolve these issues.
This reflects negligent inspection, failure to deliver roadworthy equipment, and failure to support the customer after sale. We are requesting immediate intervention and resolution before further damage occurs.
Recommendation: RUN!
