On the 17th May 2023 I posted an ad wanting a builder. Two firms responded. One in Perth (I am in Qld) and the other called "Complete Home Extensions" from Ormeau. He contacted me and identified himself as "Chris Melar". We discussed this job for over an hour then he phoned the following day and discussed it again for 2.5 hours as the job wasnt straightforward. He provided a history of the company in great detail and we ended up changing original plans from building a reasonable granny flat on my property to 4 x single studios. He drew sketches and plans on the phone as we discussed the job. By this stage it was about 4.30pm Friday afternoon 19th May 2023 and I had asked him for his QBCC licence, his insurance docs and two reference sites. All of which were provided but which I have since learned were fabricated. He claimed he had spoken to his certifier who advised the studios would be fine however this would be the last job he would take as he was booked up. The alleged builder advised that he had only 2 spots left in this year and laid out the dates but in order for these to be secured, it needed to be booked in and the deposit paid. An Invoice was emailed to me immediately and I had someone else look it over and we were convinced all was in order so payment was made. It is not unusual on the Gold Coast for builders to be booked out until Christmas. He confirmed via text that he received the funds and so a week or so later I dropped into his office on a Saturday and it was closed. I went back again last week only to find the "real builder" who had no clue what I was referring to. I have filed a report with the police, registered this with my bank and also spoken to the bank the funds were sent to. What I want to know is what vetting method if any, do you have for businesses listing on your platform? Surely you would check them out rather than just have them list and too bad if they are fraudulent? I know you're just the platform and expect a hands off approach from you, however am absolutely disgusted to have had this experience with you and feel that something should be done about it. How many other scam artists in different industries are on your platform right now? I dont supposed you would know. I will never use any of your websites again and am absolutely disgusted to say the least. This person I believe is or was a builder, as his level of knowledge and ability to use industry software would have anyone believe he is in fact Chris Mellare from Complete Home Extensions.

Shady business. They earn as much money as possible and never do what's needed. Both traders and buyers have no protection whatsoever. No one gets what they paid for. Every single person receives the same emails just like everyone who subscribed.
So you should stay away from this website and never pay for their service.
We don't need your fake jobs. Keep them to yourself and stop cheating people.

Do not believe anything you read on Oneflare! I bet most of the reviews are fake, this site is not to be trusted. My experience was bad thanks to these guys. I used a service which had high rating on Oneflare and there were only positive reviews. I decided to give it a try and was very disappointed.
Then I decided to post a review about my experience, but it was deleted right away. I made another one (negative) and the same thing happened. Then I finally understood why there were only positive reviews.

I recently signed up for the trial of the company www.oneflare.com. I paid for the first month, but later these jerks started to take money for 2 months in advance. I called and sent complaints to the company. I told that it wasn’t very convenient that they took such sums from me, but these jerks only promised to change the charges. Nothing happened. I wonder if there are people, who had the same thing. Maybe you can advise me how to do with these withdrawals. Please post your ideas and comments. Thanks.
