This department was ill equipped for the pandemic unemployment volume. I tried for over 6 weeks to get the Unemployment side of PUA to release my social security number so that PUA would even fill out an application for me. Since this was never accomplished by either side I missed the deadline WAITING FOR THEM to do their job. I was told by a regular unemployment side worker I was eligible for regular unemployment since they didn’t release my social security number in time and I was “in luck!” She was WRONG. BOTH departments were not prepared for this kind of volume of claims and even after the smoke settled years later I tried to get the PUA department that was “tying up all the loose ends” they too, failed to help my claim. All around this was mishandled and I’m sure I’m not the only person that got left behind. I have complained to both my local congressmen and local senators office and no one can get the Ohio department of Unemployment to take this failure of the PUA DEPARTMENT to do their jobs properly

I am a single mom. Self employed caterer that has lost most of my clients because of this pandemic

Desired outcome: PUA to settle my claim and grant me the assistance I WAS ELIGIBLE FOR PRIOR TO THE ORIGINAL CUT OFF DATE
