I’m a bit fan of the website interface of CoinTracker, but I simply cannot use the iOS app because of all the rendering issues. I cannot change the timeframe of the portfolio page, so it uselessly shows my asset history back to 2017. The transactions page has text overlaying text so I cannot actually distinguish anything but the latest transaction. The prices page doesn’t show my actual asset value by asset class across time, it shows tiny graphs with needless white space of the asset’s unit trading price.
At least the wallet page is basically fine.

This app used to be okay, it was never great but now it’s not even worth installing. My login works perfectly fine via my PC web browser but the exact same credentials on the app tell me my login/password are incorrect or do not exist. Same error even if you try to login via a mobile web browser. My theory is that if you enable MFA (multi-factor auth), this is what happens. That’s the only change I’ve made to my account since I last used the app. Either way, super disappointing for the amount I have paid for the last 2 years. Looking for another option.

I pay $14.99 a month for this app. Come to find out in order to file your taxes and the whole reason I pay for this app, they charge additional fees to get your tax documents. The only reason I signed up was for the tax documents and it will cost me over $100 additional on top of the $14.99 a month I have been paying for the past 6 months. Over $280 a year just to get the tax form. Don’t buy this app. This is a rip off. The tax form shouldn’t be gate kept when you can literally get the same cost basis information by looking at your exchanges transactions and figuring out the cost basis yourself. I also had to correct errors that CoinTracker made because it was not correct about some of my assets cost basis.

I love that this app can track my transactions and help me see my overall gains/losses. However, there are two issues with this app that are limiting the information it gives me as well as showing inaccurate data.

The first issue is the chart on the home screen. It defaults to “all” but when I try to change the view to “3m” or “1w,” the other time frame options disappears and the graph stays the same as it does when viewing the “1y” format.

Also, it says my portfolio is worth a lot more than it truly is — tens of thousands more. I know that isn’t true. I think they have their decimal in the wrong place.

Hopefully they fix these bugs in the next update. I really like this app and hope it is improved over time. It’s very valuable information to have.

I've used this service for three years. I've enjoyed the simplicity and utility of tracking multiple crypto wallets and filing taxes.

It comes down to no response from staff members. I understand that using a chatbot/AI is a logical tool for connecting questions to answers. My issue is the chat bit is the only interaction I'm having with CoinTracker. I have filed four or five tickets concerning my account. Each ticket was submitted over several weeks, providing time to read and respond. I have seen any message traffic. I am not aware of another approach to work through my issue.
Why would I continue to use and purchase this service? I'm writing this review in the event that it spurs a more proactive response. If resolved, I'll provide updates.

So I never write reviews, but I thought I’d write one for CoinTracker because honestly, they deserve it. Everyones quick to write negative things, but rarely does anyone say the positive.. anyway, If you’re anything like myself, you try a ridiculous amount of apps to track your crypto assets and never find one that meets expectations. CoinTracker provides all the necessary data needed on a clean and user friendly platform. Not sure if anyone else had this problem when looking for an asset tracker, but most platforms are tacky, gaudy and offer an overwhelming amount of data, which is not only annoying, but unnecessary. Also, I really like the historical data aspect of how transactions are priced and recorded. It makes manual entries a breeze and last but not least, I use mine to easily export data onto spreadsheets and the ledger aspect is VERY useful. Shoutout from phila Great job CoinTracker

I set up an account with CoinTracker on my desktop and downloaded the companion app just after I started purchasing crypto a few months ago. I synced all my exchanges and wallets (except for my Theta wallet as it won’t support it). It was keeping track of everything beautifully, until I transferred a bunch of alt coins from binance to my ether wallet. Out of nowhere it increased my cost basis by several thousand dollars which shouldn’t happen when transferring to a wallet. Then some of my coins disappeared from my dashboard, and were only visible under the wallet tab. It created a new un named wallet and placed several of my coins in this wallet. I tried to find a link to call someone or even send an email and it doesn’t exist. I created an account with CoinTracking, immediately after. Then I set up all my wallets and exchanges, and it pulled in all my data using API. Everything in cointracking pulled over perfectly with the correct cost basis and many more powerful utilities and tools to examine every trade, balance, loss, gain etc. I would recommend cointracking over CoinTracker without hesitation.

I’ve paid over 700$ for all the premium products and for the ability to get help etc… but they are horrible at helping they do not offer any type of phone or immediate help and even when you finally get an email then if you write back it takes weeks and weeks for a response I’m actually right now in my fourth week waiting for a response and it’s just horrific!
Plus you have to wonder how proficient they are with English because you can ask a question like,
One the CVS form I’ve tried changing the header to look like this for the upload and it still won’t work….
And their response is, we do not offer tax advice if your looking for tax advice please find a CPA….
Doesn’t even make any sense right?
And I keep saying I have a CPA I have a financial aviator I’m not looking for any of that I’m just look for someone to please help me figure out how to upload a couple of excel files that don’t match their version of uploads and for someone to help me with the error reconciliation that they have….

I’ve spend hours and hours connecting my crypto sites and uploading other forms and I’ve paid tons of money to them and with taxes only a few weeks away they have me in a Vice! And I started all this in January so it’s not like I left it to the last minute!
So buyers be ware! And warned!
You will get Zero help even when you pay for it! I would recommend if you haven’t used this company DONT START!

CoinTracker could be great, but it doesn’t track lending or staking and they have horrible or should I say non-existent customer support. It’s a shame. I had really high hopes for these guys.

Every couple of weeks the app automatically logs me out and then won’t recognize my valid login credentials and/or tries to get my permission to insert some 3rd party app into the login. I am really sick of this!

Got my new phone and the app crashes as soon as I try to open it. Love the desktop/browser version but they need to get this fixed. I’ve reset my phone, downloaded the app, deleted and reinstalled multiple times and nothing.

FYI - In November 2022, CoinTracker's database was allegedly breached. Even if you don't use your CoinTracker account anymore, it's important to protect any info that was exposed. Only because of this, will stop using this ASAP.

This has happened before but now it’s persistent. Try to log in with Coinbase and it gives a terribly unhelpful message like “woops can’t log in...” Not sure why this happens but can’t find a solution and now feeling incredibly annoyed.

The wallet is so outdated even when I refresh it it is not accurate. Not worth it.

Update: they said they fixed the problem with an update but that is not true still shows my wallet/portfolio as 2 months old and won’t update to todays portfolio.

It’s missing support for Uniswap, BNB and Binance Chain tokens, and Ravencoin. Unfortunately without these CoinTracker is completely useless in tracking my portfolio and, more importantly, in tracking my taxes. I hope all of these are on the roadmap for 2020.

My data from CoinTracker showed up on the dark web. Enough said use at your own risk. Not like your crypto is worth anything these days but if you want to hold on to your assets, don’t use this platform I was notified by my identity, theft protection services.

I heard CoinTracker was hacked, and my information was found on the DarkWeb. CoinTracker has assured me my password was Not compromised. All beware, your email may have been exposed. I would recommend changing your password associated with your email on CoinTracker, 12/2022.

This app used to be fine until a few months ago, when it seemed to switch to a new authentication service (expo.io). Now it consistently logs me out once in a while, and half the time I can’t log back in for a few days due to varying server issues (endless redirects, server overloaded, etc.).

I just downloaded the app today, synced my coinbase. Now whenever I open the app, it says my wallet is empty and when I try to refresh, it gives me an "Error getting latest data" message. It gives me this message even when trying to access Settings.

I purchased the hobbiest tax service through the app almost two weeks ago and it is still not being reflected in the app. Also when I call in there is no one to answer the phone and I have been waiting over a week for someone to respond to my support email I submitted when I couldn't reach anyone by any other means.

Stop freaking updating the app already if you can’t just make it work. Every time I update it I’m loosing my user and pass, the funny thing it doesn’t even remember it and doesn’t asks for Face ID.
In addition who is this shady EXPO.io that what’s my password? I can log in because of you and your shady side companies that steal our info!

Let’s say you have 1k and then added 5k to your account, app will show you made 5k in “returns.”

Anyone with 0 number intuition would’ve learned that by spending 30 minutes on investopedia.

I wish they disclosed what prevented them from properly calculating it.

It could’ve been some technical issue, and I would’ve gladly kept supporting them till they fixed it.

There new update doesn’t solve anything.

If you want to do your taxes incorrectly and pay more then use Cointracker.

You can’t remove scam coins/tokens.

You can’t take a loss on rug pulls.

Transaction adjustments take an hour to update the whole system.

They’re website has the same issues. Good luck printing your tax forms.

This will cost you 3 times more than a big competitor.

I like the app and the website and I have used them for my taxes last year. However, the app is still showing my holdings of coins from over two weeks ago, some coins aren’t in my wallet anymore yet the app still shows them and the everyday value of my portfolio is incorrect. I tried pulling the page for it to update but no luck, tried it multiple times, no update for the app, and I even logged out and logged back in but nothing changed, please fix this!

I use Coinbase and Binance US, but I move my coins to Trust Wallet to trade on Uniswap. Cointracker reports back all kinds of incorrect data. While my Coinbase and Binance wallets are correct, and it sees my ERC20 tokens in my ETH wallet, It doesn’t include any of those trust wallet coins in my portfolio or dashboard. In fact, my dashboard is way off. Too many errors to be useful. Sorry to have to cancel my subscription and find another solution. Super bummed!
