NEXT Financial Everything was fine until …

Everything was fine until card was lost for the first time and 3 months later still no replacement card. I contacted customer support on numerous occasions and they keep regenerating a new number in hopes of a replacement card finally showing up in the mail. They have no phone support so everything is via email. That is the main reason people sign up for this app in the first place, a card for their child. Whoever is reading this, if you think your child will not lose their card think again. When that happens if you need a replacement card, I truly wish you the best of luck.

NEXT Financial Customer Service is Terrible!

I am a parent. I changed mobile phones and cannot get logged into the app to transfer money to my daughter. I have followed all directions and emailed Copper support 5 or 6 times. They keep telling me to look in the email I used to register and look in junk mail. I’ve linked both places and have received no email with reset code. I’ve told them this in several emails. Now they are not responding at all. There is no number for customer service only an email. I can’t even create a new account because it’s linked to my mobile number and it tells me to look for a reset code in my email.

NEXT Financial My issue is with linking accounts

I used this app because my daughter was going out of town and she could have some kind of an account without having a wad of cash. Ok so I link to my credit union on May 25. I understand Memorial Day weekend was coming up but the funds are still in transfer from my credit union. There were two full business days before the weekend, don’t get me started about Saturday not being a business day but as of today the funds are still in transfer.
But no problem transferring from my debit card that includes a fee, that is instantaneous!
I understand the app needs to make money but come on man!

NEXT Financial HORRIBLE READ BEFORE STARTING!

recently it was my birthday & my mom signed me up for copper so I can start a little savings just because I turned 15 & soon I’ll be able to have a actual savings account ! My mom deposited 30$ In my account so I bought bath & body works dor pick up right? HERE IS THE WEIRD THING the copper thing kept my order on hold that has never happened with any other of my cards so I couldn’t get my items ! I couldn’t buy anything now my card is “info unavailable” & I can’t see my card info this whole app is a scam! If I could rate it 0 stars I would ! The support team is trash YOU CANT EVEN CALL ANYONE YOU HAVE TO LITERALLY JUST EMAIL & THEY TAKE FOREVER?

NEXT Financial Please just go with a regular bank, one with in person branches!

I really hate copper, like it was really, really great in the beginning, but I had to move my money into a Chase account because their app got really buggy. First it was the taking forever to get allowance, then sending allowance several times in a day, now allowing charges to take the account into the negatives when it previously did not allow it to do that

My recommendation? Go to an actual bank, with real branches that you can go in person to to deposit and withdraw money. Banks like Chase and Truist (Merger between SunTrust and BB&T) will always have someone waiting in line and have 24/7 phone customer service just in case something goes wrong.

NEXT Financial It’s a rip off - welcome to the Hustle

I had Copper for my son. I used two different debit cards, and at first it was fine. I then was not able to use either of my debit cards. I contacted customer support (terrible and they do not care) to investigate why I wasn’t able to use my debit cards. I received a couple of lackadaisical responses telling me that I “had” to link my bank account. I did not wish to do this. I was told by customer support if I didn’t link my bank then I could not use Copper. I needed up getting ripped off for $15.00. I eventually uninstalled and deleted the app and went with GoHenry. In conclusion, if you like your customer service with a lot of attitude, you’ve found the right place.

NEXT Financial Terrible experience

My kids school recommended this app and even said my kids get $15 if I follow their link and activate an account for them. I did and added my two other children. I tried several times to add my bank account and cc’s but was unsuccessful. Out of no where I get an email saying I violated their policy and they immediately closed my account. I have been back and forth with customer service they can’t tell me what I did to violate their policy but they did state I can never open an account with them again. They have also not given any clarity on releasing my kids money. This is a total and complete scam and their are so many options other than copper that are so much better.

NEXT Financial Please don’t use this banking system

When I first got copper I was so excited! But as time went on I realized one of two things, this card keeps failing almost every time I try to pay for things. And the register person will say that it failed, then the money will still be taken from my account and it will say pending for a while. And eventually transaction failed. But my money is still gone and it has only once come back to my account. Or I pay for something online and it says pending, then it will say transaction failed and somtime so sufficient funds if at the moment( when I first orders the thing) I had enough money, but now I don’t. And I never get the money back, I have wasted hundreds of dollars from using this card. So please don’t get it.

NEXT Financial Horrible Experience!

My son and I were with Copper for over 2 years. In that time his card has been hacked three times. The second time it happened they completely closed his account without any forewarning or communication. Luckily, they were able to reopen it without too many issues. However, the third time he had an unauthorized transaction was 2/6/23 in the amount of $604. When I reported it through the app they again closed his account without letting us know anything. At this point, it is 4/4/23 and I have emailed them at least 20x trying to get this resolved. All they have said is that they’re investigating it. It’s been almost 2 months with very little communication from them, no updates and no results. As of right now it looks as though my teenage will never get the $604 he worked to save I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

NEXT Financial Best banking app for teens out there (from a teen)

This is the best banking app i’ve used! It was so easy to set up and very little time. The app is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I’ve had cards that you can’t use online and only irl or visa versa but this one works for both. you can use a physical card or apple/google pay, very convenient. and on top of everything else, ITS FREE. it was so easy to convince my mom to do this because she didn’t have to worry about monthly fees and subscriptions.

Another amazing thing is that it gives you free things! After setting up your account you have $5 already. And now with the inventing program, they offer 1 free stock. All i did was set up my account and now i have $5 and a $5 Spotify stock.

I highly highly recommend this app for teens and parents. it’s so user friendly and easy to navigate. words can’t express how thankful i am for this app

NEXT Financial Won’t explain why…

Set my 15yr old daughter up an account it took extra long for her card to come in with her name on it ( she was super excited about that )
When the card did finally arrive we activated it and I transferred her a little bit of money. The next day I checked to see if she has used said money only to find out that the account has been permanently closed citing that we violated the terms of service and if we felt like it was an error to message support. I messaged support to get the same generic closed due to violation of terms. When I advised all we did was open/activate/fund the account how is that a violation? I was told they do not know it was decided by their compliance team….. so why tell me to message support of support can’t help….. apparently there’s no way to get in touch with compliance to see why either and to top it all off she never got to use the card and my money is still gone/on it!

NEXT Financial One star let me explain why-

There’s really nothing you can do in the app. I’d HIGHLY suggest using the step app as its more kid friendly and actually has a YouTube channel dedicated to teaching teens about finances, they have a discord server as well and there’s many more options in the app. You can customize your card and they’ll send it in the mail, you have the option to save your money towards a specific goal—you can also toggle a button on one of these goals so that when you buy things it’ll round up and the extra money will go to the savings goal you picked (example: $2.67 spent on carvel will round to $3 and the 33¢ will go to your savings goal) They also launched investing not so long ago, haven’t tried it out yet though. Overall, step is a really kid and adult friendly app that’s easy to navigate through and I’d highly recommend it over Copper. I haven’t even used my copper card yet, and honestly I want to throw it away and unsubscribe from their emails because I don’t use it.

NEXT Financial Never again

As a High schooler, it’s essential to have a saving account as soon as possible. So, When I heard about copper from this spokesperson I was excited to finally have my own spending money and not be a leech on my father’s bank account.
When the spokesperson was getting everything setup for us, I decided to check the reviews and see what others have said about this app. Sadly, it seems to be more negative than positive.

First red flag that I noticed was sending a message to my parent/guardian for this.
Although it doesn’t seem that bad at first, it gives this company a connection that I didn’t want. Funny enough, my father was confused on why we were doing it.

Second red flag that I noticed is that this app is specifically “for teens.” Now, yeah, cool. However, I NEVER had heard about this app until the spokesperson came to my school to talk about it.

I feel like this banking app just came out of nowhere and is constantly promoting itself to a younger demographic to stand out apart for the likes of cash app, and other money related apps.

Lastly, this app has been problematic since I downloaded it. I noticed that when I made an account I was transferred money, but after the school day was over, guess what? The app said not only was the money that was in my account was used, but to add salt to the wound, was also terminated due to violating TOS.

To be honest, I’m glad that I’m never touching this app again. To all students that get tricked to download this app. Read the reviews.

NEXT Financial Guess I’m out of luck

I thought this company was great. I’ve had step and current and both of those banks gave me issues when it came to spending the money I earned, resulting in the switch I made to copper. Not even one month in and I’m having so many problems. First off, you cannot buy $5 of gas unless you have at least $100 in your account. It charges $100 dollars off the rip just to activate the pump. Don’t got that much? Your out of luck! Good luck filling up your car (in my case I need it for a lawnmower.) Then, we have the customer service. There are no real humans only robots to assist your financial problems, what a great world we’re making. I got robbed from an ATM, I was trying to take out $100 cash but instead it charged my card $250 and didn’t even give me the money. The transaction is still pending after a month and I am being told by both the ATM Company and this bank themselves to just call the other person. I call the atm, they say call the bank. I call the bank, they say call the ATM. I’m stuck in a loop where no one is willing to help me with my chinsey $250. Brings me to my point why cash is dominant, never pay a bank to store your money on a piece of plastic that the numbers determine what you buy? Ridiculous, I can get robbed and be told I’m out of luck but these rich companies can’t just give me my money back? What should be happening is I get double if not triple for making me suffer, he’ll I should AT LEAST BE GETTING MY MONEY BACK. If the transaction is still pending, why can’t I just cancel it and get a refund? Cash is dominant, get a gift card if you really want to shop online, otherwise support your local businesses with cash. So after this being the third bank to rob me for my hard earned money I came to the conclusion that credit / debit cards are very very risky and not worth the struggle. It’s really pathetic these companies rob little kids considering this company makes profit off of me depositing a check on this cheap piece of plastic. Wish I could get my money back but it’s been a month and weather I call the cops or commit crime I will never recover from this major setback. It’s $250, it doesn’t seem like a lot but it really is when you don’t get free handouts and have to work to survive on this planet that we should be thriving off of for free. Numbers can just be generated on this piece of plastic and taken off without proof, that’s $250 out of circulation without tracks. This bank simply robbed me and should be exposed.

NEXT Financial Verification Code Error/No Customer Support/App issues-READ BEFORE FOLLOWING THROUGH

I don’t typically make reviews, but this is literally the first time on an APP. This company I should of listened to the terrible reviews off Reddit before I even went further because the customer service is beyond terrible, however they make sure every hour to post TWITTER SMH. Something bad could literally happen to your account and the worst thing is you have to be chatting with A ROBOT/BOT from your app which is scary/pitiful. Take advise MR CEO of company this is BAD. Nobody will feel comfortable linking bank/debit card info and if they have problems with their app or money they can’t get a hold of a live representative! The main issue i currently have and probably will have until they get their crap together is trying to close my account because their verification process is terrible! how is it that I was able to successfully create my parent account with the verification code being sent to my phone but my daughters phone is having a hard time receiving?!? I had to personally create her account from my PHONE so that way she gets the verification code and it keeps saying it’s incorrect?Called Apple support and phone company so it’s not an issue with her phone. It’s an issue with the app - something on your side . BUT main issue is I’m not getting the support I need as a customer to get this resolved. She already has an account so why does she need to put her phone number in each TIME to log in to send a verification CODE. VERY SILLY. The log in screen process needs serious WORK. Once your already signed UP you should use phone number AND/OR USERNAME AND PASSWORD! OR your email address! it literally doesn’t make sense to ask if you have an email address if you can’t use it to log in . So every time somebody has to log into the account, they have to use PHONE NUMBER AND VERIFICATION CODE!? I understand you’re a new company but it’s 2022 I’m sure there’s over 20 people that tested this app out before it launched. The sign in and customer service 100% needs WORK. You need either username,email address/phone number for log in and not stupid verification code for each sign in. When you already have an account the app shouldn’t greet the user as if they are NEW. Also if your hiring for customer service REPS I’ve been in the game a long time and would definitely help you as a long time customer service -independent contractor so I’m here if you need help! I believe in due time this company will eventually be what it needs to be in the eyes of what they see,however things need to seriously be improved. I love the concept-idea, etc. I will come back maybe soon to see if things get better but I don’t think it’s for me yet.

NEXT Financial Don’t use this app

My daughter was encouraged to use this app by a speaker that came to her school. I set up the parent side and mistyped my email address, making it impossible for me to do anything else within the app, as all communication goes through their bot and email. Fortunately I had not entered my bank account information, so no harm done, but for a company that handles money to not have some kind of contact point is ridiculous. When we do decide to set up a debit card for our teenager, it will not be through Copper.

NEXT Financial Terrible Customer Service

I Deposited funds to my account and they immediately deactivated and shut down my account without warrant for their actions. Attempted to reach customer support via the email link the automated algorithm provides within the app to no avail, just another time consuming dead end and my children asking me about what happened to the app their mother and I were setting up for their allowance. Really disappointed.

NEXT Financial Zero customer service. Don’t bother with this service

I got copper months and months ago. Since then I have been trying to get my two kids their cards. They never arrived. Good luck trying to get customer service to contact you. They have a dysfunctional AI that asks you a ton of questions and tricks you into thinking someone will contact you. Then they say you will get an email within 12 hours. Never happened.

Don’t bother with this app. A great disappointment

NEXT Financial Terrible app

Firstly the app, it is a very basic app with the bare minimum of features and options to do anything. Secondly, my daughter lost her phone so lost access. We tried to get back into the account, but were unable to do so. Sent a message to the company to get it restored and they didn’t even respond! So now I have a useless card with money on it and an account she can’t get into! Very upset with this company!

NEXT Financial Scam

I wish I could give no stars. This app came to my school illegally and solicited to the students. They target naive vulnerable people who happens to be 10 to 15 year olds. They completely surpassed the parents. This also has a connection to snap raise who also scammed my cheer team. This is not a bank this is a company do not trust it. Everything you do on here you can do through your bank with safety and security.

This banking system is terrible they constantly need fixing they don’t even have a proper number for support. And if you need a new card. You only get 2 in a 3 month period you can’t even buy a new one there is no option. So if you have adhd and lose your card often well your out of luck. Definitely not inclusive I wish I could give this bank zero stars. So If your a teen and need banking cash app is a way better option.

This app allows you to get a free app account on your phone but it does not let you do that you have to go to your phone go to your friends you gotta go to your parents you wanna go to so many people just to get it and how to get free money and five dollars but then it’s fake because I want my parents I want to do it and it said I had zero dollars even though it gave me five dollars from the beginning this is fake this is a live an app don’t do it waste of time

NEXT Financial Giant headache and garbage app

You cannot transfer money out of this account at any time, for any reason, only in. You cannot call customer service, no phone number exists. Trying to resolve issues via email is useless and ineffective. As soon as I figure out how to regain access to this account (it’s been a week and multiple emails back and forth with zero progress) I’ll be closing it. Absolutely terrible.
After reading other reviews it’s pretty obvious most of the 5 stars are not real reviews.

NEXT Financial Crazy atm deposit fees

I thought this be the answer for my teenagers. In a world where we have electronic checking and transfers, Cooper decides to wait five business days when you transfer from another bank. how ridiculous and slow. Wanna write a check to one of your kids or they get a check for their birthday nope can’t deposit it.This is a free account however if you want to give some of your kids money from your ATM card it is a ridiculous fee. For $500 deposit they want 20 bucks in fees.

NEXT Financial Extremely disappointing

App guides you how to transfer funds to the account and then rejects it arguing they don’t allow direct transfer. Ridiculous. Had to pay fees for the transfer they guided me to do and then they refused to reimburse the fees.
Feels like a fraud or dishonest. They extremely limit your options on how to transfer funds to the digital wallet and only allow options that have ridiculously high fees!
DONT BOTHER TRYING IT. NOT RECOMMENDED.
At least costumer service was responsive and effective.

NEXT Financial Unsettling experience

I had an unsettling issue with my account and when I tried to get in touch with customer service, they wouldn’t answer my questions about my account and so I’m not sure if someone hacked into it and now I’m very nervous about the information I entered. I can’t get anyone to reply and there’s definitely no number to call. So I guess this app is fine unless you have any concerns about entering all of your valuable information into one place but never being able to get any answers about a potential breach.

NEXT Financial Do not let your teen use this

M sons card was compromised and was charged 4 times for an amount over $200. No direct customer service number until you rrrach the highest escalation. After finding out they are backed by another bank (Synapse) they looked through the charges and deemed them not fraudulent so he won’t get any of the money back. Almost $1000 and that means a ton to him. I have never seen such terrible service or lack of communication in the banking space. Garbage at a minimum. Seriously do not waste your time or your teens time.

NEXT Financial Do not get this app they will screw you over

I’ve been using copper a little over a year and haven’t had too many problems with it until a transaction came through for 94$ and it put my account in negative , I’ve tried contacting copper and no response. It said it was taken from Apple Cash but my Apple Cash is shut down and can’t send or receive money. Apple Pay support said they saw no transactions and that my bank had to fix it . Copper just keeps ignoring me and doesn’t even have a actual support number. Save yourself the trouble and use your local bank .

NEXT Financial This bank is horrible

My son tried to buy something the card denied it 2 times and could not purchase the items because copper denied them. Than he had no money on his account because the transaction are no pending. The worst part is trying to talk to someone at the bank the only response you can get is through email and says pending transaction will take up to 7 days to fall off so now I’ve either got to pay more fees to instantly transfer money to his account or let him have no money for 7 days of which I’m sure they are making interest in there account..

NEXT Financial Incompetent Support

Updated to add that after not being able to fund my account and zero assistance from customer service, I received an email stating I had violated their Terms of Service and my account was closed and would not be reopened.

Unable to add funds to my account so I can transfer to my teen. Transaction continues to mark as failed. Support is unable to assist. They tell me to remove banking information and add manually. Tried it. No difference. Then they suggest hard closing the app - tried it and no difference. It’s continuous back and forth with no progress made.
