I started watching Newsmax about 2 years ago. I was a devoted Fox News viewer for probably 15 years and pretty much watched them around the clock especially all the shows in the late afternoon and throughout the evening. Then I started seeing the scandals pop up. And it seemed that it was made more public than I thought it should be and even questioned the validity of them all, however when I saw some of the main personalities leaving whether it was forced or voluntary I thought that there had to be a snake involved. They even went after an individual at the top who made it all happen and forced him out. When Bill Oreilly was forced out it was pretty much over for Fox News. I still watched occasionally, but didn't watch Tucker Carlson because he came out of nowhere and they put him in the prime slot. I didn't like his style but in time that snake in the organization didn't like what he said one day and got rid of him. They replaced him with Jesse Watters, who was a reporter from Philadelphia and got his fame from Oreilly doing segments called Watters World. Didn't like him then and definitely don't like him now. It puzzles me how they chose Tucker, but even more so with Watters. It certainly has gone to Watters head. I scanned over and found Newsmax. It was the evening and thought this looks like a great replacement for Fox News.
I started watching it around the clock and enjoyed most of the programs and thought I had found a new home. I even signed up but didn't renew. Here's why. The first thing I noticed was that it seemed Newsmax started prostituting itself during their main noon shows and into the afternoon with what started out like it was part of the news cycle but turned out to be a 10 - 15 minute infomercial on, the Life Vac guy, The heart surgeon, and more. I get that they are trying to make more money, but during a news show? That is beyond ridiculous. There was also a time where they were telling everyone to tune in and watch a special about Melania. I was looking forward to it. Turns out it was Melania promoting her new book with no real info other than to buy the book. Another infomercial during primetime. Other things that started annoying me is that usually, broadcasters will tell their personalities to be aware of their speech and how they come across on the air. You got deep New York accents from several personalities like Tobacco and others and I also agree with others who mention the female who seems to fill in on every show when someone is out or on vacation. Lidia has what seems like a New York accent that spills out sometimes during her broadcasts and doesn't come across well most of the time. I know her from Greenville when she was there and she had the same issues. Which brings me to another concern. It seems like there is no control there. I watch the hosts get annoyed when waiting for a video concerning what they are talking about that never shows up and leaves them saying they don't have it. The personalities seem to be off or on vacation several times during the year whenever they want. I'm tired of seeing the owner, Chris Ruddy on as much as he is. I get that he's proud of his creation however he should have his own show if he wants to be on that much. And finally, I think the one thing that totally made me start searching for another network is that they keep having Judge Napolitano on to discuss legal matters in which I caught him several times saying totally wrong things about matters. Just one example was when he stated that Federal officers could not go into a Judge's chambers and arrest an illegal alien. I thought wow, that is not the law. He discusses several federal law issues on the show with the mindset of his tenure of state court judge in New Jersey. Newsmax could do much better with a retired federal judge. I hope Newsmax the best for the future however if they stay on course and remain with their current leadership team they have, I'm not sure they will survive let alone keep their good talent.
