National American University [NAU] review: Financial Aid problems 13

I WENT TO NAU FOR ONE SEMESTER AND I OPTED OUT BEFORE THE SECOND SEMESTER BUT STILL THEY TOOK OUT LOANS IN MY NAME THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT AND NOW THATS ON MY CREDIT REPORT PLEASE HELP

About a year ago I had enrolled in NAU's online campus and attended for about two weeks. I had to drop out because they had started me unprepared and without the proper materials. I informed my student adviser via voice mail that I would be dropping out and he never returned my call. Just last week I received a call from a collection agency informing me that I owed the school in it's entirety for the entire term. I know this isn't correct but I am stumped as what to do, I was using my Federal Pell Grant as well as government loans to fund my education which I am not sure were even dispersed to the school so now I may have double the expense to pay. What can I do?

I'm more than willing to partake in a class action suit against NAU. I attended school there in 2002 less than a semester and dropped out because I didn't have money to pay for my classes. I just found out that I was granted a pell grant for $625 and a Stafford Loan when totaled together was over $2900.00 for my classes. I enrolled at a school last semester and that's when I found out NAU has a hold on my transcript because they're saying I owe NAU $688.00 for a class I attended for a quarter and with interest it's over a $1000.00. I never knew I had qualified for any money. I was told in 2002 by their financial aid rep that NAU was not set up to receive pell grants and that I would have to apply for a loan so I did. In the mean time classes started and I still hadn't heard anything about the status of my loan. I went to the financial aid dept and was told that my loan did not go through. I dropped out based on the information I was given and now they tell me I did receive money and they had to send my money back because I dropped out. I SMELL A LOAD OF CRAP BIGTIME. NAU won't release my transcript until I pay them $688.00. I was told by the people in SD office they'll waive the interest because my story SOUNDS CRAZY but they believe me, (I wonder why they would). I think it's because they're actually very familiar with complaints. If anyone out there knows of a suit being filed please email me and let me know. I want to add my name to the pot for sure.

quit whining, no one forced you to stay with NAU and further more financial aid is for education purposes, not for supporting you personal finances.. even FAFSA will clarify that for you. And yes its correct --the less hours you take, less financial aid you receive.. clarify that with FAFSA.

If you read what I wrote, you'd see, once again, my wifes-not mine- had an experience different to yours. And her complaint was the exactly like several others in different forums. They have all been mislead and deceived by NAU's financial department...so her complaint is valid. I am helping her with this for she has 2 jobs (and WAS going to school) and needed the help.
And your explanation was that of a child...how did you even graduate I wonder?
Just because dog food is on sale, you do not buy it if you do not have a dog. ...and "I" never said "I" wanted to [censored], I said I have received many e-mails, and in 2 of them, the "writer's" wanted to because they feel whatever it is they feel...I dont know their lives, maybe a touch of mental illness too, either way, they are people and deserve to receive what they paid for.
You are actually quite a mean person, i'm sure without friends, so I understand why I saw you had almost 150 on line forum messages such as these, possibly too much time on your hands.

I AM DISABLED AND WAS BUSY WITH THERAPY, DOC'S..ETC..SO A STATE CAPITAL RALLY WAS CANCELED JUST B 4 THE FINAL FAX WAS SENT IN TO RESERVE THE DATE, ..BUT A NEW ONE IS COMING ALONG WITH LEGAL ACTIONS, AND THE POSSIBILITY OF RETRIBUTUIN TO THE VICTIMS OF THEIR DECEIPTFUL ACTIONS, EITHER THRU A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WHICH I HAD TO RESCHEDULE MY 1ST MEETING, OR INDIVIDUAL LAWSUITS, FOR JUST 1 SUCCESSFUL LAWSUIT CAN SET PRECEDENT FOR OTHERS. THERE'S EVEN FACULTY THAT MIGHT COMMENSE WITH THIS.
I WAS ALREADY CONTACTED BY THE CITY PAGES AND A MAN FROM THE "AP"..ALL WHO HAVE HEARD THESE STORIES OF NAU BEFORE!
