My Cousin Angela suggested a Church to go to the Mormon Church in Lancaster, CA that would help me to relocate to another county because of an ex's abuse toward me and my children.

I attended a couple of services and partook in their communion services as well. Well it had something in the water they were giving out because it felt as though it like a tranquilizer of drug of some sort. A strange feeling came over me whenever I drank the water they were giving out to the Members. Nevertheless, My cousin Angela suggested I go in and speak with the Bishop to get help to relocate to Northern CA, Tehama County. So I did. When their Members, only men, no women, were coming to my house, they kept wanting me to say Joseph their leader was a prophet sent from God. I did not. When they helped me relocate they told me to check in with their Church in Tehama County. So I did

I attended once and got a very uncomfortable feeling. So I stopped atending, nevertheless, they continuted to come where I lived and kept harassing me into saying there Leader was a Prophet sent from GOD, well I did not, I moved to another apartment and they kept following me where ever I went or moved and continued to harass me into a saying this.

I never did, the only Prophet Joseph, was, is a profit of money from his members giving up oney from their pay checks. It was very parciular, there was never a woman sent, only men, not one woman from their Church harassed me, only the men recruiters for their Church.

They are wolves in sheep's clothing and just want members to give up money from their paychecks to support what ever purpose they want it for. This is how they make their money, the Church Heads don't work, they get money from the Members so they don't have to work.

The only prophet I see in this Church is the profit they get from Members hard earned money. It is just a scam, and they have their own Bible, they took parts of the King James Version and put it into their own version, which is plagerism.

Plagerism is against the Law, you cannot use someone else's idea for your own...

Wow, you must be a member. No I didn't use them at all. I actually welcomed them into my home and fed their members because they claimed they did not have food or other means to support their missionaries. The person being used was me, and harassed on a regualr basis and being forced into something against my will.

I don't answer to Mormon's I answer to God. Maybe you should do the same!

There are only 2 kinds of fruit, that that is good and that that is bad. Which one will you choose? I have been to many churches throughout my life beginning in Childhood. There are those that talk and there are those that walk. You either "Bare Good Fruit" or you "Bare Bad Fruit".

Update by SweetSag12

As you can see, there are those that bare good fruit and there are those that don't. Just read the comments...All I did was put the truth of what happened to me, and look at what has become of it. Who sounds like a "Phycho" to you? There are some in the churches that did not hurt me, but there were other's that were just ruthless, just to get what they want. No I don't Judge I just do the writing of what is true and what is not...All I was doing was visiting and this is what came of it...I am only a simple messenger...

What I do know is that I am a better person for going to church and striving to be more Christ-like. I don't spew negative degrading comments at other people. I work on overcoming my deficiencies and loving my neighbor. HOWEVER, I also know that when I believe in something that helps me to better myself and my surroundings, and when someone is so hell-bent on focusing on the negative and trying to get everyone around them to be miserable with them, than I say something. Quit spreading half-truths and opinion-laden statements, if all you are going to be is a downer, continually trying to "rain" on others entitlement to praise GOD how they want and to be enlightened if they so choose to be! Be a light to this world, not a black hole of pessimism! You will get more out of life if you do!

Xenophob: Oh, it was "fulfilled", by the coming of Christ. Anyway, it was "changed". And the reason that the mormons were forced out...way off! Try, they were being harassed, persecuted, and killed for their beliefs and way of life. I guess if you consider large families a slave mill, than maybe, but you are missing your mark. Obfuscating is clearly not the intent, but deeper reflection on what really happened, and not some opinion of a radical "scholar" who has a vendetta against the church. Besides you posted:
...Any Mormon isn't bright, sunshine. They practice polygamy and dictatorship, and they twist up the Bible's words to excuse their desires. Which is funny to me why they won't accept gays, seeing as how they do the same thing...
Now where in the bible does is say to accept gays. In fact, multiple times it speaks out strongly against promiscuity and laying down one man to another. It doesnt get any clearer than that what is being said...Or is the bible "obfuscating" the message that you want to get from it. Who is "twisting" the gospel. His message was spoke back then, and it is the same for today: Homosexuality is wrong. It is "next to murder" in his eyes. Ya "got em right here", right?
GOD spoke, and continuous to speak, to those who are worthy and in tune. Revelation for his Gospel and also personal Revelation.
The message hasn't changed. Society has and they are trying to change the meaning of the Gospel too. Besides, your comment about Mormons not being bright? Name calling is so juvenile...and immature. Just shows your character! Grow up!

why don't you google "cain and abel"? You will find that almost every ancient religious text has history of this in some form or another. Coincidence? I think NOT. Just something to ponder!

xeniphobicon: why was the mosaic law stopped, when Christ came? Who knows the answer to why blacks couldn't receive the priesthood until recently. I suppose there will always be the people who want things NOW and complain at the speed of progression. Our country is still progressing, along with the world. Democracy is new for other countries, just like running water is new to 3rd world countries. It doesn't change the essence of the message because it is new. Why are there different colors of skin? As we have been told, it is because it was a curse, a "Mark", on Cain and his posterity, for killing his brother, Abel. Read on from the Bible...

"9Then the Lord said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?"
"I know not, " he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"
10Then He said, "What have you done? Your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground! 11So now you are cursed [with alienation][44] from the ground that opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood you have shed. 12If you work the land, it will never again give you its yield. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth."
13But Cain answered the Lord, "My punishment[45] is too great to bear! 14Since You are banishing me today from the soil, and I must hide myself from Your presence and become a restless wanderer on the earth, whoever finds me will kill me."
15Then the Lord replied to him, "Therefore, [46] whosoever slayeth Cain vengeance will suffer vengeance seven times over. "[47] And the Lord set a Mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. 16Then Cain went out from the Lord's presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

I lived in a small MORMON town for years. I have never seen so many hypocrites in my life! When you first meet them the first thing they ask is "ARE YOU LDS?" "HOW DO YOU SPELL YOUR LAST NAME? and "WHERE ARE YOU FROM? They don't even accept other mormons from other towns and especially the city. If they were honest people they wouldn't have to hide their alcohol, drug use. The state of UTAH has one of the highest prescription drug abuses in the nation. The divorce rate is extremely high. The children are BRAINWASHED from the time they could walk. I could go on for hours but they would only deny it.

While this website caught my eye and what was a simple statement of one's experience, then to read everyone's comments. I find myself bewildered beyond believe.
I find that most of all of you who are leaving comments to know one thing or another of what you are talking about, but lack the True compassion of who God our Father, Jesus christ our savior and even for those talking of the spirit.
Now, I'm not throwing stones, but find myself pondering the delusion of questions.
I have read so many comments of blaspheme, contradiction, bantry, attacking, verbal and mental abuse...and most all have dictated to preach of some form of religion.
It may have all started out innocently enough, has proven to me that most of us need to really think and search for the answers we are so trying hard to spread.
If you take offense to this in your heart, then you know who I am speaking to...

I happen to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am very offended at the way some of you are talking about my religion, furthermore I am upset that you don't know what you are talking about. Yes, Joseph Smith was our first Prophet. We do NOT have plural marriages. We do not practice Paligamy. We do have certain Garments that we wear for Protection, and we do believe in the Holy Bible. We also believe in the Book of Mormom. Christ is our elder brother and we are all children of God.

Scorpionprincess: Yep, I guess I did miss it, along with all the other incredulous news of "the century". What those males did was way far out of the spectrum of sane actions, by almost everybody's standards. It happens with Catholics and alter-boys and amongst uncles and nieces and nephews and siblings and ...! It is the actions of individuals, not of the principles. Or do I need to drop that MAJOR fact of what is going on. ...AGAIN! I laugh at you and your rebuttal! YOU REALLY DON'T GET IT!

I have had my fair share of occurrences with them, but to slander a "whole" because of one "part". It appears to be human nature to fight against something that "offends" you. Now, the real maturity lies in the persons ability to separate the human error out of the equation, even if that means admitting some negative personal flaws; and we all have them. This whole tangent is merely a call to look deep within one's self to sort out your "own side of the street" as they say in AA. And when one is truly able to be completely and utterly honest with ones self, than the views of how people truly treat you will be TOTALLY TRANSFORMED. In this instance, I believe that NEVER AGAIN is REACTING vs. RESPONDING to the outside environment and associated factors, and then adjusting the facts to fit the aforementioned above story to their liking. Most fellow Psych. clinicians would tend to rule towards this prognosis. But, as surely as one is completely convinced that things happen in a certain way, than they are as sure to believe a false to be truth as to the ends of all reasoning.

never again: you really have a way with words! NICE VOCABULARY. This shows me your true side. U R FULL OF HATE! It's easier to dish on others than to face the truth inside. From the sounds of it, you had to lie to even get a temple recommend, which explains why you are already pissed off. You found out that there is no secret, and now you were asked to live a biblical law of tithing, but you were going to have none it! Now you want to make fun of them and the ceremony process within the temple. Way to attack a character. What about the gospel. Typical. You are all about the personal attacking. Have fun with your drama filled life!

What the hell is your problem Dr ###? This ### did happen, and I don't lie you inbred ###ing piece of ###! I did not conform to their "standards" so they made my life a living hell! I dont care if you believe me or not. I know what happened and so does my real family, not those inbred mormon pieces of ###! That piece of ### bishop DID make me turn over my paychecks. Im just glad I got the hell outta there when I did! I also pissed them off more than once cause I refused to go to their temple and do their secret handshakes and chant "Pay Lay Ale" 3 times! Lets not forget how absolutely stupid they look in their bakers caps, and stupid white angel shorts! What a crock of ###! Lets all remember the green aprons too! The temple looks like the conference room at the Holiday Inn! They got way pissed at me when I refused to give them my brothers DOB, and DOD. They wanted to do some "dead dunking" with his name and info. It never happened. I also dont believe that some dude named Joe Smith is a prophet...PROFIT maybe. Does the current "for profit" Monson have a revelation when he clips off a turd, or beats off? Does he still have sex with his counselors too? I heard that Monson is a butt pirate! hahahahahaha! Screw you Monson! Wait, wait, there it is...AN or***** with his screwing buddies also known as the 1st and 2nd counselors! hahahahaha!

If it walks and talks like one, it most likely is one. And, your story is a fresh serving of s$%t talk. Anyone who actually engages their brain would see right through the "smoke screen". you somehow got offended and now are just lying about what really happened, just to make yourself feel better. Who are you kidding? Oh yea, YOURSELF. I bet your whole life is a miserable place to be: Drama everywhere, people lying to you, you being "cheated" out of life. When in fact it could be simple and happy. Just accept people, treat them fairly, DON'T LIE ABOUT YOUR ENCOUNTERS! And have faith and trust that there still are honest people out there. Not everybody is out to control you *(BTW, what an egotistical mindset! Are you really that important or have that much wealth that someone wants to control you?) From the sounds of it, you are so broke that you couldnt even buy two sticks to rub together for heat. What good would controlling you do? People really do care about you. Quit pushing them away, and take some responsibility for your actions. Maybe than your life will get better. "look first within for the change before you go looking to change others"

I had to move 700 miles away to get away from them. Look on ex mormon.org, and you can find anything out about them that you want. The website exmormon.org only spends about $150.00 a month to run it, and the Mormon church right now is spending thousands on their TV ads and computer ads to enlist new members. They also "boost" their membership numbers, but they don't count all of those who have resigned. I was pressured into joining, and I regretted it from day one. I started planning my escape on that first day, and unfortunately it took several years for it to happen. I almost lost my life because of their mind games. I escaped from them with only the clothes I had on my back, and my cat. NO way was I leaving her behind! She was all I had left. I lost everything to their cult. My money, my health, and my posessions... It took my family that lived 700 miles away 8 months to deprogram me. At times I even wanted to go back! That is a sure sign of a cult. the wanting to go back, cause the person doesn't know any better, and they are convinced that the cult members are their only friends, and that the individual does not need any outside family, especially if a persons outside family are NOT members, only fellow culties. I see a counselor now, and I have come a long way. Sometimes the recovery for me is 1 step forward and 2 steps back, but somehow I get through it. They made my life a living hell cause I would NOT conform, and become an obedient, submissive wife! There was always that little part of me that they couldn't break and that is how I ultimately survived. The bishop also required me to hand over my paychecks in order to pay "back tithe", and "fees" that he felt I owed to them. This left me little to no money to survive on, including going without heat for over a year, and never having enough food to eat. The women have a big tendency to "spy" on each other, and it is one big gossip fest with the rumors of bad behavior getting back to the bishop. I have heard of cases where one of the members will ask to use someones bathroom, and they then go thru the cabinets and drawers looking for forbidden items such as birth control, cigarettes, etc, . The bishop then tells the member that he wants to visit with them. He will then "council" the person. Doesn't matter how they find out. We were always hungry. That is also one way that they control their members, not enough food, being physically uncomfortable. I think of myself now as a survivor and NOT a victim. I have done outreach to a lot of ex culties now, and have managed to keep at least 6 people from joining them. Best wishes.

We are to be concerned about everybody --- want the best for them. But everyone's religion is their own choice.
These days every denomination has been tainted by false leaders that have their own agendas that they work to bring about even through Washington. Every so often "Reformations" are needed. In Jesus' day it was some of the Pharisees-- not all. Today it is some of the Bishops -- not all.
Passivness has become a teaching that is really contrary to the Bible. We are to RESIST evil wherever it appears -- I am not talking about giving in to violence. But as yet there are enough people with belief in moral right and wrong that without violence we could let our opinion be known and speak out --- all that believe in right and wrong -- . Washington for example listens when the majority speaks. But the majority has not spoken in some time. And Silence gives Okay to everything.

The Church authorities would be wise to listen because their members are leaving in protest. But the Bishops may be so obsessed with their own agendas they won't hear. The Devil doesn't let someone go easily. O you don't believe in the Devil any more? Or Evil? Well, I am sorry to hear that.

Standing for something is not easy. We are all human and too easily influenced. That is why a belief in the Bible was so important. But the Devil sneaked in "evolution'" and that was okay as long as it was admitted to be a Theory.

When something can't be proved it is a Theory.
The Christian belief in God is a Theory. Because none of us can go back to the beginning and show proof of our beliefs. Evolution is still a Theory. The Catalyst for evolutions beginning that brought 'life' to inanimate things can't be proved. The Christian believes that God's Word was the catalyst. But we can't "prove" it. Neither can the evolutionist.

Neither can the Mormons or Methodists. We should each make an attempt to find the belief we are willing to bet our 'souls' and the years of eternity on. This life is just a split second and time ends with physical death. But 'you' live on and on. Making the best choice possible is very important. And since no one knows when the end will come (according to the Bible) it seems wise to do the best we can while we can.

Completely LAME post. Are you really suggesting that they put something in ONLY your water, because I am sure others would have stood up and said something if it really happened. It is sad that people have to attack other religions with crazy stuff like this, but I guess that freedom is one thing that makes this country great. Gotta take the good with the idiots...

I live in salt lake city, utah, home of the mormons, with my LDS sister and her husband and kids. I am not LDS, but obviously am around alot of them. For the most part they truly are kind and helpful, BUT yesterday my 20 year old nephew was talking on the phone to a friend about how all the mormon missionaries in Japan are safe (the earthquake and tsunamis just had taken quite a toll on Japan), but then felt he had to say "There has to be a reason Heavenly Father is punishing them", that is where I have a problem. They truly do think they're Gods' people, the "lost tribe" of Israel, I feel for Japan and it's people. I'm not going to turn on them because I believe it is Gods' will.

How does JerseyGuy46 KNOW that half the Mormans are pedophiles? That is like anyone saying that in the Catholic religion half the priests are sleeping with young boys. One thing is certain though. From reading the comments here, IGNORANCE KNOWS NO BOUNDS.
Now, before anyone says that I am a member of the LDS, I am NOT a member of any church. Do I believe? Yup, I do. BUT, I also believe that in this country EVERYONE has FREEDOM of RELIGION. Everyone has the right to worship, or not, as they please. Protestant, Catholic, Morman, Jew, Buddhist, Musslim, Jehovas Witness, Baptist, Methodist...WHATEVER...you're FREE to worship how YOU want.
It appears that SweetSag12 DID use the church to help her move. But if she felt so uncomfortable about the Mormans then why did she "check in" with the local Morman Church where she moved too? Things here just don't add up

There is a lot of cyber bullying going on here. The original poster had a bad experience with Mormons. She's entitled to vent. I've also had bad experiences with them. I've also had bad experiences with members of other faiths. I choose not to bad mouth them. I will say that the best experiences I've had religiously are with members of the Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists. The JW's I've known have always been honest and respectful people. The Adventists have always been hard workers and very pleasant to talk with. I'd rather focus on the good experiences than the bad ones.

You are really a tool! Aside from the fact you should consider going to school to learn how to spell your story is full of it! I haven't been a practicing Mormon in many years, but that is not how the Church operates. They take your money so they don't have to work? Heads up. They don't get a dime from the Church and do what they do from there hearts! They relocated you and helped you and this is how you thank them? Bashing on them? Something in the water? Yeah. Chlorine. It's tap water your drinking! Why didn't you go to the Catholics, protestants, baptist, or Muslims to help you. Better yet. Social Services. Go to one of those half way houses and wait for housing. I couldn't care less about the Church, but pisses me off every time they help someone and people like you then talk crap!

DB2010 - Your obviously a religous nut who had spirituallity help you at some point.
If your so for this, why can't you accept others beliefs. Your just as bad as the people your hating on.
I am open to all religions. I have my feelings against many of them, but its a free country [censored] and people can believe whatever the hell they want.
Me personally, I believe every word of that lady. Men are pervs. Religious nuts (and I mean only the nuts) are psycotic and will do anything to give their lives meaning.
Try watching the south park episode that dumbs the morman story down a bit. ITS A GOD DAMN SCAM TO BRING NIEVE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR MEANING IN THEIR LIVES TO FORK OVER THEIR CASH!

want something for nothing and we all pay for it.A very shame on you!

First of all, if you thought the water was being drugged why didn't you go to the ER and have it checked out? I mean ###! You are being drugged and you don't take the time to go to the hospital to see if you're going to be OK. You know what I think? You're a mental case. No serioulsy. I bet you have bi-polar disorder or pschiztophrenia. This must be it. You imagine you are being drugged. Members of this church want to hear you say that this Smith guy is a prophet and they won't leave you alone because they care so much about you believing that Smith is a prophet of God. Don't flatter yourself. No one gives a ###. If you must know I am not a Mormon, but I have a PHD in theology and sarcasm. Honestly, are you on some kind of anti-depressent, Halidol, Seroquel or someother mind controlling drug because you are damned paranoid. Let analyize your far-fetched tirade. A) You say, "help me to relocate to another county because of an ex's abuse toward me and my children." Ok this in itself would be OK, but it is followed by so much ###. You blame everyone for your problems. It's ok you psycho, most mentally ill people do. B) Your next ###ic statement, "it had something in the water they were giving out because it felt as though it like a tranquilizer of drug of some sort." Now a logical thinking human being is obvisoulsy going deduce, as a result of you paranoid delusions, that you downed 30 mg of xanax right before communion. C) Now you state incorrect information, "They are wolves in sheep's clothing and just want members to give up money from their paychecks to support what ever purpose they want it for, " and continue to make a complete ### out of yourself. The members of the LDS church pay tithings because that is what real christians do you mess of a human being. Maybe you should read the old testament. No actually if you did that I'm sure Moses would jump out of the bible and harass you. Oh I want to belittle you so much more, but I will finish with your last ###ic statement, "Plagerism is against the Law, you cannot use someone else's idea for your own..." Let me ask you something. Do you think plagerism was a law in the 1800's you dim witted ###? No, I don't think so. And if it was, what about all the other scrolls and ancient documents? The bible was copied from these documents and even manipulated to fit Constantine's whims for gain. I guess the old and new testament are just works of plagerism and lies. In conclusion, YOU ARE A ###ING PSYCHO. NOTICE HOW YOU BLAME EVERYONE FOR YOUR MISTAKES. I am sure your husband is a much happier man without all of your fantastical ###. And I must say that is the reality of it. You live in a paranoid-dellusional fantasy, so have fun with it. BTW, watch out for the aliens and zombies. They are coming to eat your brains.

Coming from someone who was raised mormon for thirteen years, and then broke off into athiesm. Mormons do have their ways of, I guess you can call it harassment. They do follow you to make sure that you are still active. The men, missionaries, are the ones who go to houses to pass the word, and the women stay in the church and teach to the children. I think your just being paranoid and rude towards people who were willing to help you. You used them and now your bad mouthing them.

Well after reading every post on here...nobody has the right to judge another. I AM a CONVERT to the LDS! I was born and raised Catholic, I tried pentecostal, Lutheran, Baptist, Christian...The one thing that is the most important thing is EVERYONE believes that Jesus is the Christ! Thats ALL that matters! Everyone has their own beliefs and their own info they get their own experiances etc. We are ALL children of GOD! No matter the "religion!" We could be here all day arguing facts and false facts but the most important thing is we all belong here and have our purpose here on Earth! There is soooo many false facts about mormonizm as also with any other religion. I am sorry SweetSag 12 that you had such a terrible experiance...we are not all the same! I felt the same feeling when I first partook of the sacrament...and I still feel it evey time I take it...I believe it is the Holy Ghost! ( For ME it is anyways) it may be something completely different for you. However I hope in the future you will not judge anyone even after having a terrible experiance. WE ARE All CHILDREN OF GOD and we do make mistakes tooo! I hope you and your family are safe! God Bless you and your family!

I have never heard of a missionary forcing a person to say Joseph Smith is the prophet... they would NEVER force anyone to say that. It's sad that so many people will use the church and the people of the church and then say they are stalking or harassing them when they are simply trying to spread a message. Drugging the water? wow... paranoid are we? lol Tithing is something we all (we all meaning Christians) take part in... it's commanded in the Bible... you know, the book that you said we "plagerized" haha, regardless these people would still bend over backwards to HELP you even while badmouthing them. Try to think of that while judging and condemning them...

Wow. Where to start? Ok...the chick who wrote the complaint should have done some research on the church and their recruiting practices. It's not like it's a secret. But the fact that tells me she just used them without being mindful of the consequences was her saying how she attended services. You made all the right moves so that the church would infer from your actions that you had intentions of becoming a member once your personal situation became less chaotic. From what I have witnessed personally, Mormons have a strong sense of community, so they are willing to help whenever they see the opportunity. You cannot go to services and prayer groups, doing everything except commiting and fully joining, then accept their help to get you out of a desperate situation. Then once you are relocated and starting to get settled in, continuing to participate at the church all the while, you start withdrawing because they are pressing you into officially joining. Your actions say "Well thanks for the help suckers." People who attend several services of a church and accept help in that large of a degree would be expected to join. So...you acted like a ### and since Mormons don't get the messege that way, your online looking for sympathy. Also, about the whole God Jesus thing...are you guys bored or just ###ed? Since all religious texts say in one way or another that NO MAN KNOWS GOD'S PLANS, I don't understand why people argue over something so asinine. Since we all can agree that God haas a plan for eveything and everyone, how is anybody confident enough in their own faith to belittle another's beliefs? The FINITE cannot comprehend the INFINITE. If God is all powerful, he can do anything that he want's, even the stuff that a person doesn't agree with. Why can't God be Buddha or Krishna? Wouldn't He make His lesson's known to man without infringing on his free will to live in the culture of their choosing? God isn't powerful enough to share his spirit with chosen people so they can show people not just in speech but in action that we are not alone? And what's all this about why doesn't God do anything about all the evil in the world? If got got rid of all the evil in the world, then there would probably be no people. Or way less than there are now, and faith would have no meaning anymore. In giving us free will, God basically handcuffed himself against taking direct actions either for or against humanity. Faith is what people need to be able to hear the messege inside their spirit and see the signs around them in the world and in other people, to let them know that there is a God. There is a higher power. It is very arrogant to assume that we know all. It is even more arrogant to assume that your faith, your beliefs are the only right ones. Because when we are honest with ourselves, most peoples beliefs are 3 quarters inherited from the culture they were raised in and 1 quarter influenced by life experiences. It's silly to hold yourself in high regard based on something with so many variables, something so fickle, as the teachings and beliefs of other humans.
