I spoke with a Financial Services Representative from E*TRADE about how to get my late husband's name, Frank Nelson Kidney, removed from our Joint Account with Rights of Survivorship (676 396584). On November 25, 2021, I wrote E*TRADE to request this and included my late husband's original death certificate along with a Cost Basis Adjustment and a Complete Investment Account Application. Almost five years later, this request has never been fulfilled.
On July 5, 2022, I received an email from Sr. Financial Services Representative, Gary Rowley, that my application is now "...old and not useable..." Case #27440857. I filled out the forms again. They were never processed. When I later called in, they made me fill out the forms for a third time. Again, they were never processed. After several years, multiple calls, and being locked out of my account multiple times, a new joint account was finally opened on 12/26/2025 with my son-in-law, Tom Heidt (377 873898). But funding from the old account never transferred.
On January 21, 2026 a person unknown to me, Zyaire Williams accessed my old account. He sold two of my stocks then tried to wire himself $35,000. Thankfully, E*Trade recognized this as fraud and stopped the transaction. So now my old account which should have been closed several years ago is frozen while this is being investigated. I filled out an IC3 complaint regarding this incident.
Desired outcome: My account with my late husband needs to be closed and the money needs to be transferred to my new account. I also need full access to my account.
