Metro Flooring Contractors review: Metro Flooring is dishonest and will not honor workmanship warranties

DO NOT HIRE METRO FLOORING CONTRACTORS. They will not honor their warranties, and they will lie directly to you. Metro is unprofessional. Just look at the Better Business Bureau’s page of the business. They have a 1 star review average and 30 unresolved service, customer, repair, and product complaints as of this writing. Do not make the same mistake I did.

I hired Metro to replace carpeting with wood laminate flooring on my main level and one flight of steps. After less than a year, two defects had emerged from regular walking on the floor: In one instance, a plank in the main level was not properly supported underneath, and over time sunk into the floor, which bent the plank; in the other, a piece of the step that Metro did not apply adhesive to during installation broke off.

I contacted Metro with a service ticket, and they were immediately hostile to my claim. “Carmen Cuck” (a manager who identified herself as such when I asked, though, I don’t believe this is her real name) instantly denied that the damage could be from installation errors without setting up an inspection.
I went back and forth with “Carmen” for two months. She would claim that she had to contact the manufacturer despite the fact that my contract has a lifetime Limited Workmanship and Service Warranty. The warranty covers any damage to the floors so long as the floor is properly maintained; no other technician has worked on the floor; and the damage is not from alternations, misuse, or abuse.

The damage to my floor quite obviously met the criteria of the warranty, but “Carmen” would ask me to wait 5-14 business days for her contact the manufacturer and call me back. Metro never once called me back. I had to initiate each and every call. Each time, “Carmen” would say that the manufacturer wouldn’t cover the damage, but when I raised my workmanship warranty with her, she flatly denied that I have one despite it being in writing in my contract. It was infuriating.

I finally managed to get Metro to come out for an inspection. I was asked to wait again for up to 14 business days. I waited. No call. I called back to follow up, and “Carmen” told me that a manager had denied my warranty claim. I asked for the manager’s name and contact information. “Carmen” only said “Carlos,” and she refused to provide a full name when asked. She refused to provide contact information and told me that the manager did not work out of the main Metro offices. She would not tell me where the manager worked, either, claiming that she did not know where the manager worked. How crazy is that?! I asked for a copy of the inspection report, and she refused to provide it, saying that the report is only for internal use. She then hung up on me.

I do not believe the people who run this business are honest or honorable people. They will lie directly to your face about what is in your contract. They will delay any service for as long as it takes for you to go away.
