Meritage Homes review: Personal residence and negligence to complete community as filed with the county

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction for the list of items Meritage has failed to complete and correct in our community at Canopy Creek in NC. It is with great concern that I bring attention to numerous defects and subpar quality of construction which have caused significant distress and inconvenience. First and foremost, I want to highlight the alarming structural issues that have been identified in the framing of the home. My personal residence and others in the community have severe separation (I can stick my fingers in it) where the wall and ceiling meet, cracks throughout the home between the wall and ceiling due to improper framing and drywall which was confirmed! A crack down the entire garage ceiling and all throughout the concrete slab. They attempted a cheap fix on the interior, but it has done nothing more than come back with even more damage. When resubmitted claim was denied. I am also on the board and have been dealing with numerous items throughout the community such as: Meritage never servicing retention ponds prior to transfer resulting in needed repairs, failure to complete irrigation in community which resulted in needed repairs in buried unused irrigation system and large areas of dead trees and grass. The blueprints submitted to the county include 3 irrigation meters, but Meritage decided to only install one which was not enough for the entire community. After months of back and forth we finally got one more from them, but they refused the 3rd as per the plans documented with the county. I have records of all items I am referencing as well. They also installed an irrigation timer box but had no power run to it, so it is useless. When questioned about this item our land development manager stated at the time, they didn't get the meter set there so they decided to run off cheap battery timers thrown in the ground. The county approved 3 meters, yet Meritage has zero answers as to why the others weren't put in. This has been a horrible, time consuming, stressful experience dealing with Meritage. In addition to the structural and workmanship issues, I have encountered multiple instances of negligence and oversight on the part of your construction team. These oversights have raised serious doubts about the thoroughness and competence of the construction process. I must emphasize the importance of addressing these issues promptly. As a homeowner, I expected the highest standards of quality and professionalism from Meritage Home Builders, and the current state of the construction, and disregard to properly correct, falls significantly short of those expectations.
