6/23/08 spoke with Gary Arnold who assured me he could consolidate my Mother's debt into a 400-500.00 mortgage payment, but he needed $1000.oo within a 2 wk period in order to begin his work. On 6/23/08 I express mailed a check for $500.00 (I have cancelled check) and on 7/6/08 I express mailed another 500.00. The cost for the expressmail totalled $48.00. I have sent numerous faxes which has cost me approximately 75.00. My last contact was Armi Trinidad on 11/4/08. She claimed I had to fax more paperwork at a cost of 20.00. On 8/27/08 I called Mason and spoke with Diane Graham who said I had to deal with Robin or Jaunita. On 8/27/08 Robin said the paperwork was ready to be submitted to my motgage company--First Franklin Loan Service. I called back on 9/8/08 and they declined the consolidation, saying my Mother's debt exceeded her income, therefore they wanted me to provide more proof of income, which I did over the phone on 9/8/08. On 11/5/08 I faxed more proof of income. This runaround by Mason has been going on since 6/23/08. They have my $1000.00 and have done absolutely nothing for me. Now I am 7 months in arrears on the mortgage as I was told by Gary not to pay the motgage for 4 months. Hence, I now face foreclosure proceedings, I am out another 1100.00, and receive no correspondence from Mason Capital Group. They have done nothing but scammed me and taken my $. I am outraged and facing serious problems. I demand my $1000.00 plus aprox. 100.00 in express mail fees I have incurred. There should be a class action suit against this scam company and the Attorney General of CA must take action against them. Can anyone please help me? Sincerely, Cynthia Salmieri

    GretchenFox.org

I had paid $4000.00 for GretchenFox.org to help me doing loan modification since Aug 08.

It had been 3 months and I am getting no results out of it. They told me to keep checking their web site and I see no update.

Today, I called them to check on my status. They told me the person who was working on my case is no longer with them. Therefore, they have to find me a new person to work on my case.

My lender had started foreclosure proceeding on me and I am here losing another $4000.00.

I agree the Attorney General of CA must take action against them. They are totally a scam company. They should be stopped before more people will be scammed.

My family has been dealing with them also. The "deal" they claim to have gotten for us is the EXACT same deal that our Mortgage company offered, that we couldn't afford. I spent 20 minutes trying to talk with them about the fact that they had done nothing and asking to speak to my "case worker" with no luck. She was busy. I finally demanded my moneyback and now am 3 more months in arrears in my mortgage. Do they actually refund the consumer or is that a rip off too?

I was doing my due diligence to see which company I would work for as my reputation is very important to me. I have been in business over 15 years in the Mortgage business and clients have always came first, even if that meant it would cost me money to make them happy.

I am obviously not going to work for this company after reading this and insteadwill be working for the competition which I checked out throughly and have not had one complaint filed aganist them for the 12 years they have been in business.

My gut told me there was something wrong with this company, and after reading this and other complaints, I know I was right.

I had a friend that went through the same thing. She luckly got her money back but only after threatning to call lawyers and the district attornies office. Mason Captial is breaking a Calf law that states they are not allowed to collect any monies until services are provided, which of course they take your money upfront. You also can file a complaint with BBB.
My freind had to file Bankruptcy Chapter 13 in order to save her house. She was to the point where the notice was in the paper with her sale date and luckly she had filed the Chapter 13 to stop it.
Also, we noticed Mason Capital has modified thier application to where you wont get $500.00 back (if you filled out the updated package)
I also researched the company after all this crap happended and Mason Capital has 3 different addresses that they provide. Two of the address, even the one that's on the letterhead, is the address of a rental mailboxs. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD! Also, somebody said they are from Isrial and drive Lincolns and crap like that. I googled the actual address and come to find out they work in a wharehouse somewhere.
Good Luck! I know you are desperate right now, but look into the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, it may be the only way at this point to save your house.

We got invovled with Mason Capital in 8/08 they have 2900.00 of our money. We were not behind but looking at an ARM and needing to modify payment down slightly. We were told no problem. We are now going into forecloser and Mason is saying the deal they did make for us was all they could do. it was for 150.00 permonth off payment without ARM being addressed in anyway. We have asked for refund which is falling on deaf ears. Now Grechen Fox Assoc. is saying Mason is no longer in business and they don't know what will hapopen to all the people contracted with them. They will let us know as soon as they do. The source that got us into this mess (A local reality company) is saying no no they just changed thier name to American Financial Group. New number is [protected]. I can't verify this true as I have not as of yet reached anyone at that number.
Maybe this will help someone else. We are running into even more barriers as we are in Oregon and the companies are in California.
We are left trying other sources in an attempt to save our home of 23 years.

Maybe if all who have had this experience need to to band together as it seems they do have a large of amount of struggleing families monies.
