Luxor Hotel Stay away from the Luxor Hotel!!!

My girlfriend and I ate at the More Buffet inside the Luxor. She became violently ill causing her to end up in an urgent care for treatment. She was deydrated, dizzy, and could not stand up on her own. We had out of pocket expenses related to her medical treatment. We returned to the hotel and filed a report with their security so that we could seek reimbursement for our expenses. The hotels risk management department would not reimburse us for our medical expenses at all. The diagnosis from the Dr. at the urgent care was "food poisoning after eating at buffet". The risk manager we spoke to was rude and told us that if we wanted to seek reimbursement we would have to contact him with an attorney. We asked him for the corporate office contact information so that we could go to a higher authority. He refused to give us the corporate contact information and again said that we would have to contact him with an attorney. He was rude and completely uncaring and unhelpful with our situation. We stayed at the Luxor for a total of 4 nights and spent a lot of money at their facility only to be treated like this in the end. We are in the process of getting an attorney, but just wanted everyone to know to stay away from the Luxor!

Our first stay our room was broken into. What is odd is that the door was not damaged so we suspect it was a hotel employee. My wallet was stolen and my friends purse. The thiefs ordered merchandise from best buy. We were able to cancel the order. We lost $200 dollars cash and a $400 concert ticket. When we reported what happened we were told by the manager there was nothing he could do and to file a complaint. What kind of people do they have working there?!

I think it would be helpful if you file a consumer complaint with your state attorney general's office. It's a simple online form that has always been effective in my experience. I hope you get this resolved!

Luxor Hotel Bad service

Be aware that MANY Las Vegas hotels may be offering low rates due to the economic crisis, BUT they have hidden DAILY 'RESORT FEES' which totally defeats the purpose of having low rates at their hotels! For example at Luxor I was charged $15.00 a day in addition to my nightly rates! Now it may not seem like a lot of money, but when you stay at the hotel for 2, 3, even 4 days all those fees start adding up! And what are these 'RESORT FEES', well it turns out they're charging you extra for all the ammenities that should already be covered in the original price you paid! You're actually paying $15.00 each night for the privilege of having two 8 ounce bottles of water, the little soaps and shampoos in your bathroom, internet access (which they claim is free in their in-room advertisements), towels, air conditioning, access to the pool (which is closed all winter long anyways), gym privileges (which most people don't use at all!)!

This is outrageously ridiculous and furthermore the hotels who participate in this travesty, which is almost all of them, do not post these RESORT FEES in their advertisements, it's just foisted upon you at the time of check-in! So be aware that you will be paying anywhere from $15.00 and up in addition to your quoted price per night!

In my common sense opinion, I believe Las Vegas hotels should stick to their low prices and do away with these hidden RESORT FEES!
