On 28/12 in the afternoon, my family and I visited the Baby Care room to attend to our one-year-old child, including changing diapers and basic care.
At the time, there was another guest with a younger baby sleeping in the mothers’ room. However, we were very disappointed with the unprofessional and rude behavior shown by one of your staff members (Male Staff), as detailed below:
1. Registration Issue
The staff asked whether we had registered upon entering the Baby Care room. We did not register because there was no staff present at the entrance when we entered, and there was no clear instruction or signage informing us to do so. The staff then said, “Next time you must write your name before entering.” This was said in an unfriendly tone, and we were made to feel as if we were at fault, despite the lack of guidance.
2. Inappropriate Way of Addressing a Baby
Our child was being a bit noisy as he is only one year old, which is completely normal. As parents, we did not ignore the situation and did our best to calm him down.
However, the staff suddenly approached and spoke directly to our child, saying:
“Adik, adik yang jerit-jerit tadi eh? Tak boleh tau jerit-jerit, ada baby tengah tidur. Dia faham ke ni?”
This was extremely inappropriate and disrespectful. A Baby Care room is not a library, and it is unreasonable to expect a one-year-old child to fully understand such instructions. If there was a concern, the staff should have spoken politely to us as parents, not directly to the child in a sarcastic manner.
3. Rude Accusation Regarding the Switch
There was a switch nearby that was turned on. The staff questioned us in a rude manner, saying:
“Is this switch being used? This is not allowed to be used.”
I replied that we did not use it. The staff then responded, “Okay, it’s fine, just asking.”
This interaction felt unnecessary, accusatory, and unprofessional, as if the staff was deliberately trying to find fault with us.
Overall, this experience was very unpleasant and disappointing, especially in a space meant to support parents and babies. I sincerely question the training and customer service standards provided to the staff. Baby Care facilities should be a safe, respectful, and supportive environment — not one that causes stress to parents.
I hope this matter will be taken seriously and appropriate action will be taken to improve staff conduct in the future.
Thank you.
