Lambda School charged me a lot of money for my education even though I never completed the program. They kept pushing me into new classes, but I was still working on courses that I had already passed in the frontend part. I never even got to the backend and failed the sprints, despite attending after-hours sessions and receiving extra tutoring. I couldn't move forward and receive a certificate of completion. I attended from March until January , but I had to drop out because I became homeless and couldn't attend classes anymore. Now that I'm unemployed, Lambda School is threatening me to pay off my balance. But how can I do that when I don't have a job? I used to work for Accenture, but I didn't have any involvement with fraudulent claims while I was there. I don't think I should be obligated to pay the remaining balance to this school.

I applied for the Design course at Lambda School in early June , not knowing that the school had received a citation from the BPPE on March 20. This citation came with a fine and an order to stop operations, including accepting new students. I had to take a break due to a medical condition, and when I found out about other issues from my classmates (and realized I hadn't learned anything during my time there), I decided to withdraw. They claim they didn't receive my withdrawal request and automatically processed it when I didn't return. Either way, I didn't want to be involved with the school anymore. At the time, everything seemed fine. I was following the agreement with the servicer, and there were no issues or penalties. I spoke with lawyers to understand the situation better. But when I tried to contact the servicer later on, they didn't help and directed me back to Lambda School, who hasn't been cooperative so far. The only thing they did was apply the new refund/prorate policy to my account, which doesn't solve the problem. I joined the school when they weren't authorized to accept students, according to the citation from the BPPE. The contract, as far as I can tell (and multiple lawyers have told me), shouldn't be enforceable. I've already filed a complaint with the BPPE and will be reaching out to other organizations in the future. I want Lambda School to cancel the contract and inform the servicer so they leave me alone. I don't owe them any money, and I won't pay.
