I was shopping in a Denver store at Krameria and 14th in the Mayfair Shopping Center on July 20, 2020 shortly after 6 p.m. The guy at the meat counter had a bandana as a mask with "BLACK LIVES MATTER" in large white print on a black background. I told him that an unavoidable political statement is the last thing I want to see while shopping. I said I'm not just talking about Black Lives Matter, but about any political statement.
He didn't say much in reply until I asked him how to contact a manager. He said "What manager, " and I replied "any manager." He said he was the "meat department manager." Well, I said, "you have a conflict of interest." He replied "Then you have a conflict of interest."
I told him I was offended by having to see a an unavoidable political statement while shopping and wanted to file a complaint. He referred me to the "guy in charge up front."
I talked to the guy in charge up front, and he called a higher-up manager. No success, so he said he would pass my complaint along to the store manager. A few minutes later, however, I saw him talking and laughing to the meat department guy in the BLACK LIVES MATTER mask.
I surmised that my complaint was dead on arrival.
