I signed a contract and paid a deposit of $1299 for a window and a Bahama shutter in May . It took five months until October *** when I noticed leaking around the window. Then, another five months passed, and in March 2022, the second installation date arrived for the reordered window. However, it turned out to be nearly 1.5 inches too short, causing more leaking around the window. The project manager assured me that management would be notified, and a correctly measured window would be ordered and installed as soon as possible. They also mentioned that the *** shutter would be installed shortly thereafter.

In July 2022, I decided to contact Jansen to check on the progress, only to find out that a new window had NOT been ordered. It was quite disappointing. Finally, in September 2022, Jansen sent their best installer to fix the problem by reinstalling the original improperly measured window. However, by October 2022, the leaking around the window persisted, and I also noticed cracked caulking on the outside.

Overall, my experience with Jansen Shutters & Specialties has been frustrating and disappointing. The repeated issues with measurements and the lack of communication regarding the new window order have caused unnecessary delays and inconvenience. I hope that they can address these problems promptly and provide a satisfactory resolution.

A few years back, Jansen Shutters put up hurricane shutters at my vacation home. Recently, I discovered the cause of repeated water leaks (a few buckets of water per rainfall) in my house. The issue was the incorrect installation of shutters on one of my windows. The bottom end of the shutter frame was placed at the bottom edge of the window, unlike the other shutters where the bottom frame was installed about 2 inches below the window edge. This mistake led to rainwater being directed towards the bottom of the window. With every rainfall, this window endured a water torture, eventually resulting in a leak underneath. I reached out to Jansen Shutters, and the owner, Travis J., inspected the problem and assured me that he would find a solution. However, several weeks passed, and he never returned my call. I am now seeking a proper re-installation of the shutters on the affected window.

I moved into a house on June 3, 2022. Jansen was the one who installed a big fish bowl (picture window). Right away, I noticed the work wasn't done well. The trim was all crooked and not put on right, there were scratches and caulking that didn't match the color, and the weatherstripping was sticking out. Jansen said they would fix these issues since they were still under warranty, but they kept making appointments and then not showing up. This has caused problems with money and work because we have to set aside time to be at home, and we even confirm through text and phone that they're coming, but they never show. We have to call them and they act unprofessional, rude, and don't seem to care that we've been waiting. They know they did a bad job with the installation and don't want to fix their mistakes, so they probably think we'll get tired of it and go somewhere else. But we won't give up until they fix the expensive mistakes they made. There's no excuse for them not showing up three times and not even bothering to call and let someone know they won't be coming to do the repairs.
