I ordered a 9x7 and a 16x7 commercial garage doors in June of 2023. I was told they would ship on Sept 22, 2023. I had an installer scheduled to install it the following week. The order was pushed out a month and when the doors finally arrived my installer was a few month out. I figured i would do it myself to get them done. I started the project with the larger door first and was soon stopped because the installation manual didn't match my door. I called ideal and the technician was stumped as well. He said the manuals hadn't been updated to keep up with the new doors. He said he would have to get with the engineers to get an answer. A few days after my initial call he responded with installation instructions. I did exactly what i was told and had a problem with the large door. I called again and 2 weeks later I had a new set of instructions that would change the location of the upper roller brackets. This change in location would overlap existing screw holes. The new location would only use 1/2 of the old hole and would enlarger the hole leaving a void in the hole. This was aluminum and weakened the panel. I was also told that I would need to use a special I bracket. I didn't have the I bracket that was supposed to come with the door so the instructions were changed again. They had to change instructions again. This new change enabled me to get the doors up and working. I have upper panels that I am not satisfied with because of the enlarged holes. I'm worried the upper panels will fail and someone in my household will get hurt. I was told that Ideal would give me new upper panels and a $650 in-store Menards credit for my time. I get a letter that I had to sign stating my warranty and anything that happens with the doors are no longer Menards or Ideals problem to the credit and the new panels. I spent $6500 on garage doors and they want me to sign off liability for their faulty not updated installation instructions. WOW!

Claimed loss: I have a potential safety issue with these doors because of the 1 1/2 oversized sized holes in the aluminum on the upper panels of both doors. These upper panels will fail at some point.

Desired outcome: I would like new Upper Panels and the $650 in store credit without signing off any liability or warranty on these doors.
