I was told I won a modeling contest off of *** and invited to come to icon studios for a photo shoot.They did my hair and make up and we did a photo shoot from 3:30 to 7:30 PM. Everyone was very nice building up my confidence and telling me that I have a future career and modeling. When it came time to review my photographs they told me how well I did and how they wanted to support me and market me and my social media and they would take care of everything including building my website for $4000. Speaking with the woman I thought that after putting down my $500 deposit and thinking about it I would be able to change my mind and only purchase my photographs if I chose to. Very next day I called to tell them that I made a mistake I cannot afford a $4000 purchase or any extra bills could I just purchased a Photos with my $500 deposit and they told me no because I had signed this contract I am bound to the $4000 commitment. I am 39 years old and work hard at the anti-aging but do not think I realistically have a career in modeling and I do not have the money to support that right now. I feel like this business is a scam telling me that I won a contest to get me in there and bringing me through the ringer with the excitement of the photo shoot to get me to sign this contract . I have not received any services from them or photographs from the photo shoot whatsoever. This contract is electronically signed & I only signed one document. Can you please help? me?

I applied to a photography company that does photoshoots for aspiring models. I waited weeks for a response and was contacted for a free photo shoot because my application was handpicked. I got into contact with the recruiter who responded to me and explained that I had to reach out soon to save my spot. We communicated heavily through email snd text and discussed the next steps. I received a free shoot so I was under the impression that I need to just show up and be ready. On the application that was email to me, it states instructions for the shoot and states that a $50 deposit is needed to secure your place which I found strange because I was handpicked but I just followed the rules. IT STATES THAT IF YOU ARRIVE ON TIME TO YOUR APPOINTMENT AND STAY THE WHILE TIME FOR THE SHOOT YOU WILL BE REIMBURSED THE DEPOSIT OF $50. They say to bring the card used for the deposit to the visit to confirm the appointment but never once asked to refund or reverse payment for arriving on time as they stated on their instructions and application sheet. At the bottom of the instructions it also states that if your photos are deemed nice after the shoot they will meet with you and discuss options on packages to buy. That is NOT the case. The photographer tells you that you can't leave yet even if you don't want to buy anything because the scout I believe I honestly don't know what she does has to speak with you. Once you waited 30+ mins you speak with the scout who then proceeds to show you photos on a TV screen and instantly says we are know to give you jobs but can't make you famous. She kept saying that. After she shows you pictures she says that you need to pay for the package she suggest you needs and it doesn't make sense because you all are still making people pay even though you advertised that they will be getting a free shoot. She forces you to pay and says she needs at most 10% before you walk out. She makes you sign these contracts that are one sided. They stole money
