IAA My car was repo to their lot

My car was repo to their lot. I paid for the car before the car made it to their lot (so they say). My daughter picked up the car and we didn't know to look in the "box" of things for ALL of our belongings. I'm not understanding why they went into the car when it was paid in full before it got to their lot. I didn't arrange for a pick up for my things, they went into my car and stole my garage opener, my magnet for my phone (which is unless without the other part that's on my phone), and my daughter had some *** in the trunk which are missing as well. The representatives were very unprofessional and actually hung *** in my face because they were lying about what was in my car. This place should be shut down because all they seem to do it steal people's belongings and get away with it. They need to be stopped ASAP!

Scammers! I bought a 2008 Rav 4 from their branch. IAAI posted the vehicle as a 'Run and Drive'. I live far away, so I relied on their advertisement as a 'Run and Drive' vehicle. I bought the vehicle and paid over $1300 for transportation. When the vehicle arrived, the ENGINE was bad. That's clearly deceptive and false advertisement. They gave me the run around and now I am stuck with a worthless vehicle.

Bought car taht was advertised run and drive. When delivered car was not going in the reverse. Called manager he said his mechanic said it was running. That does make no sense. They don't want to take car back. That is shameful and false advertising. You can't trust these guys.

IAA I am the owner of a company who is a registered dealer and IAAI buyer and have been for many years

I am the owner of a company who is a registered dealer and IAAI buyer and have been for many years. I purchased a vehicle from their *** and resold the vehicle to one of our good customers. Unfortunately, when our customer took the title they gave us to their local DMV they were told the title "wasn't worth the paper it was printed on" and that this was an older duplicate version of the car's title. IAAI advertised this car as having a clear title. As big as the company is, you would think they have a process for verifying titles prior to reselling vehicles. My feeling is that someone didn't do their job. Anyway, it's been over 6 months and they have failed to provide a good title for the vehicle they sold us. The customer service has been terrible. Multiple times the manager (***) stated she would get back to us by the "EOD" and we never hear from her. Very poor customer service there.

It is very unfortunate that you make people miserable. I saw a 2012 *** Elantra that says run and drive with no engine issue. The dealer bought the car, we paid over $4000, I mean over $4000 when the car was dropped off at the mechanics behold it was a totally damaged engine. I was also made to pay $250 to pick it up. This is absolutely wrong and fraudulent. You really need to change this deceptive attitude.

Crooks, plain and simple. They lie about virtually everything. If ya call them on it and act as though you are not pleased to be screwed... You very well may find your account revolked. Take a few moments and read the rules they set out for themselves. BUYER BEWARE. They will stand behind nothing that they put in print.I spent a good deal of money with these folks. They changed the few schedule again...I asked them, what my fees would be. 30 days later I find a fine fellow who finally tells me. However in the 30 days of emails, I became revoked.Stay with Manheim or Adesa, those folks are at least logical in the s*** of dealers

IAA Scammers

Scammers. They sold a vehicle to *** which I bought. I understand it's a buyers beware market, but they did not even sign off on the title. Multiple sites show they once listed the truck I bought. I have the number and pictures. I guess IAAI and *** not subject to the same laws as the consumer? They can commit fraud and title jumping? They were actively trying to hide the history of the auction. *** bought the truck from IAAI, and even though IAAI had it listed as "*** NOT RUN AND DRIVE", *** changed it to "*** AND DRIVES". I guess the pandemic hasn't been hard enough on the average American. People dying, financial stress, people relying on used cars because they don't have many option. No humanity. Business like this think apparently think they above the law and scam every last bit out of the little guy. Just completely gross human beings. What's worse? They are going to completely get away with it. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Stay away from this company. They force you to use their IAAI Transport for pick up and if you dont, they charge storage fees starting 2 days after buying if not picked up.

Some damage happened to the tire of my car. The cost was over *** dollars and my insurance company took my car to this place. WORST PLACE EVER DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. Wasnt happy with my options but I decided to take my car somewhere else and when I called this place no one picked up. I called 20 times in one day and left 10 voice mails. They go through your car which Im not happy about they shouldnt be doing that. They took off my license plates (which I have no idea why) and worst of all its been 3 days since Ive called them and still no answer. Dont recommend this place.

IAA in the towing company towed my car. I spoke with an employee who was rude, so I asked for a manager. She connected me with the supervisor, who was significantly more unpleasant! Rude! Interrupting me. Not paying attention to anything I was trying to communicate. She persistently talked over me and kept reiterating her points. She frequently used phrases such as 'Like I said' whenever I attempted to converse with her.

I was in a car accident on May 12, 2022. My car was first towed by a local service in my hometown and then it was towed to an IAA branch in the region. Somewhere between the initial towing service and IAA, some money was taken out of my car. It wasn't a small amount; it was around $200 or more. My car was totaled, and when I went to collect my belongings from my car that was then at IAA, the money had disappeared. I called both places and reported the missing money, but neither company seemed to care that the money disappeared while in their possession of my vehicle. No company has the right to go through my belongings that were in the car and feel that it is okay to help themselves to whatever they may like. My insurance company will be filing a claim, and a complete police investigation will be conducted.

IAA IAA has caused me so much stress

IAA has caused me so much stress. The customer service is Truly the worst Ive ever experienced in my life. I purchased a car through them for *** dollars. IAa listed the car as a run and drive vehicle but it was a lemon. the car did not start, it did not move it did not shift gears . The car was inoperable. After picking the car up I immediately had it checked by a professional mechanic and was told that it needed a transmission. I spoke with a manager by the name of *** 8-12-22 he agreed to refund me my money that following Monday. After reaching out to him on Monday to sign the paperwork a different manager by the name of *** answered telling me that *** had been fired. So that he would offer me $300 for my losses. I did not agree . so then he told me to contact the branch manager *** who have not been able to contact for three weeks now. I would never do business with this company again. And I will continue to take further action until this problem is resolved.

These people are scam artists. They advertised the car as having a certain mileage, but when I received the car, the mileage was significantly higher. They told me I should have examined the pictures more closely and refused to take the car back. They did not offer to reduce any fees or charges. This is a total scumbag company. Please beware, people.

IAA I had a great experience with Summer at the main office

I had a great experience with Summer at the main office. When I called about selling my car to them through Peddle.com she was very helpful at getting all my information correct unlike the last place I tried to sell my car. She set up a pickup time that best suited my time frame by the next day from when I had accepted terms to sell my car. I then was in contact with *** the morning of pickup to verify it was scheduled. He confirmed my pickup time between 12 and 5. The last person I talked to was at their ***, *** branch, and she was very helpful as well by getting in contact with the driver to make sure they were still coming that day. She was unable to get an ETA, but he would call within an hr of pickup. I verified that it would be OK that my fiance was there at time of pickup since I had to be at work, and it was. I received a call around 3pm from the very nice driver that he would be there in about an hr, and he was. Gave title, and received check. Driver started car and put on lift, and was done within 5 min. Very easy, friendly staff, and great experience. Would do again if needed.

IAA IAA in Virginia (Tidewater) received my vehicle after it was in a collision and assumed as totaled

IAA in Virginia (Tidewater) received my vehicle after it was in a collision and assumed as totaled. They looked over my vehicle and my insurance company deemed it repairable. This branch then put my vehicle ON THE IAAI WEBSITE listed as auction not assigned, not ready for sale, and title wait AFTER my insurance company confirmed they would be picking up to take to my mechanic for a tear down inspection. They claimed this is standard protocol because we use the website as a form of inventorying the vehicles on the lots but they have pictures, VIN, and a video of my car running. I can understand if it was in a different tab specifically for inventorying vehicles but its in the same place as all the vehicles that are currently being bossed on. They put my car on the website to entice potential buyers. I am going to be bringing in authorities because you have NO RIGHT to have my car listed for your benefits because it IS NOT YOUR VEHICLE. I have pictures of my car prior to IAA and the pictures show that they took pictures while it was raining, with the windows down and showing that the interior was soaked from the rain! Disgusting how they have treated my vehicle when they dont even own it!

IAA I came to interact with this business through Carvio

I came to interact with this business through Carvio. The phone conversations and set up for pick up was with employees who identified themselves as calling from Insurance Auto Auctions. Last night I left work early to wait at home for a four hour period for my car to be picked up. I was originally asked to be there 8a-5p but I asked if it could be narrowed down. I was told the pick up time would be 4p-8.No one showed up, no one called, no one emailed. This morning I received a call at 11a. It went to voicemail because I was in the middle of a repair at at work and unable to answer. When I check the voicemail they say they don't do pick ups 4p-8p and want to reschedule. Looking through other reviews regarding pick ups it doesn't look like rescheduling helps, and it just causes me to miss even more work. This was after a week and a half of playing phone tag because I would be called while I was driving or in a lesson. When I called back I would hear a message saying to expect a 60 second wait time, and five minutes later I'd give up and leave a message. Now they have a copy of my driver's license and car title (my poor decision and I'm quite embarrassed at this point), I still have a car sitting in my drive way. "

IAA Misled by Vehicle Listing, I Unwittingly Bought a Junk Title Car

You will Pay for Their MistakesI found interest in a vehicle that was listed with a Certified Pre-Owned Label. IAA markets/encourages buyers to purchase these units due to their clear history and titles. I purchased one without a title to rerun wholesale through another auction. Upon picking up the vehicle, I noticed that the certification company Sticker/Label was removed. I later discovered that the seller was in fact an Insurance company NOT a rental car company. I did some more research and found out that the title was Junked. The certification was Clear but the car had a Junk History. Some bidders are unable to bid on junk titles, and had it been disclosed beforehand, I would've never purchased the unit. It is unlikely for the rental car companies to sell junk vehicles, which is why I let my guard down. Had I known that an insurance company was the seller I would've been more cautious. The branch (IAA North) exhibited unfair/deceptive marketing practices which led me to purchase a vehicle I would not have purchased had all of the information been truthfully disclosed. I spoke to the Branch agent and IAA and corporate agents Twice, and all I received was an admission of the mistake. Although everyone understood my issue, no one was willing to do anything about it. I feel deceived and taken advantage of. I feel like my business is not held at any value.

IAA My vehicle was delivered to IAA in Dale, TX, on November 24, at 10:00 AM via tow truck to be inspected for an estimate of damages

My vehicle was delivered to IAA in Dale, TX, on November 24, at 10:00 AM via tow truck to be inspected for an estimate of damages. The vehicle was removed from the tow truck at 10:08 AM and moved again within the site at 11:50 AM. Oddly, the battery was removed/depleted at 6:00 PM. On, November 25, I was informed my vehicle was to be totaled or salvaged due to the damages, thus, I needed to pick up my belongings that were still in the vehicle. At 3:30 PM, I arrived to IAA and noticed the vehicle has been RUMMAGED through with my belongings SCATTERED everywhere from side pockets, center console, the trunk, and in areas that were not located near any damages to in be inspected. After retrieving my scattered belongings, I discovered all of my coins from the center console and my Broadway rearview mirror attachment were missing. I do not mind the missing money, but the Broadway mirror had sentimental value to me as it had original photo stickers on it from over 10 years ago and cannot be copied. I initiated contact more than several times for the past several weeks while speaking to various people such as Gloria (representative), Jessica (representative), Yesenia (representative), Blanca (supervisor), and Jason (yard manager) ; however, it seems IAA is ignoring my case and have not made any progress nor attempt to offer a solution. Therefore, this business seems to condone theft and should not be trusted to conduct any future businesses.

IAA Transaction with Peddle delayed due to logistical issues

The purchase was passed to Peddle. Peddle assigned a driver from Insurance Auto Auctions (IAA) to pick up the car I sold them. I was given a time frame of 8-12pm for pick up on June 4th with a call 30 min to 1 hour before pick up. I called IAA at 11:40am & noon. Was told both times they were running late but would call me soon. I called at 4:30pm and was informed they were still behind schedule. At 5pm, I was told the driver had been contacted and I should expect a call shortly. When I called again at 5:15pm, the office was closed. Between 5:15 and 6pm, I called Peddle three times but they were unable to reach the driver. They had no alternative contact methods. A Peddle representative attempted to email the IAA office, but there was no assurance it would be seen before Monday. The supervisor managed to contact someone just before the office closed, but they were unable to reach dispatch since they had left at 5pm. I was informed that my pick-up might be postponed to Monday, but the Peddle agent couldn't confirm this. As of 8:35pm, I have yet to hear from the IAA driver. Friends had to wait with me since noon for a ride home, which inconvenienced them and me. Since I must be present for the title exchange, my entire afternoon and evening were wasted.

I have two series issue within this week first Key issue, second the car description has change from Run& Drive to None firs car On Tue Apr 7 I have bought 2009 Mercedes *** Stock #*** Selling Branch:Long Island (NY). in the car description say's the Key Present. Today I send Drive to Pick up the Car, they didn't give him the Keys, when he ask for key, the Iaai told the driver they don't have it. he call me and I call the Branch to find out the resolution for this issue, they are told me they are not have it, and they are not guarantee and they are not will do anything for it and it's in the policy, they told me I have to get the key by my self and I have to pay for it and they . I call the Mercedes Dealer and I get Roughly estimation with $800-$900 for key and Programming Plus Towing which I have to Tow the car to the dealer. and IAAI branch they are not cooperative or helpful, I call again need to talk to Manger after I get who I'm and the reason for calling and kind of police question before they transfer me to the Manger, and they but me on hold then they disconnect the call , I call back I get another Clerk and get same question and get my phone number and she said give me few mint to call me back and never did, until time passed 5 and closed. As no body will help or could help after long years of buying form Iaai, and help a lot of others to buy from Iaai 99% of cars bought we export, I feel i get misleading and not honest that will make me and any body I knew or help them to get exporting licences to buy form Iaai think twice before I buying or not buy anything in future.

IAA IAA branch in the Midwest has the worst management

The IAA branch in the Midwest has the worst management. As an owner of a used car dealership that only sells rebuilt title vehicles we purchase from IAA branches nationwide, this branch's management is the poorest. I bought a vehicle on my floorplan in August and still haven't received the title, and it's almost January. I'm frustrated with waiting and incurring curtailment fees. Despite contacting buyer services, I'm always redirected to the branch, where I'm met with a new person each time, forcing me to reexplain my situation. As a business owner, I'm appalled by the lack of communication from the branch manager or any IAA management to resolve the issue of selling a vehicle without a title. While customer service agents are understanding and try to help, my requests for the branch manager to call me have gone unanswered, despite multiple emails. This is indicative of very poor management. In over 5 years of buying vehicles from IAA, I've only needed to resolve an issue once before at another branch. After emailing the manager, I received a call the next business day, and we resolved the issue within days. While I know not all issues can be resolved quickly, a call from management would at least show proper attention to customer concerns.

IAA We sought a truck sale quote from Clunker and got a response from Peddle

We sought a truck sale quote from Clunker online. Immediately, we received a text from Peddle, despite no apparent affiliation between them. Peddle guided us on title completion and mentioned the tow driver would reach out on 10/8. Upon arrival, the driver handed us a check for $770.00, and we handed over the title. As an ex-bookkeeper, I scrutinized the check while the truck was towed. It was issued by a bank in America, but the company was from another state. The check's format was unusual, with the check number preceding the routing and account numbers, and it lacked standard security features. When I tried to verify the account on the bank's website, it was untraceable. Even the bank's merchant verification system couldn't recognize the numbers. The driver, on call with an IAA representative, was instructed to retrieve the check once I suggested verifying it at a local branch. Clearly, they were averse to verification. Anyone dealing with Clunker, Peddle, or Insurance Auto Auctions should be wary of checks with an unconventional number sequence as it may indicate fraud. I captured a photo of the check before its retrieval and plan to report this to the bank for further confirmation of its illegitimacy.

IAA I arrived at the *** North branch on 12/17 to pay and p/u a car

I arrived at the *** North branch on 12/17 to pay and p/u a car. I was not driving my vehicle that day and didnt have a mask with me. When I walked in to the lobby I was immediately questioned about the mask. I explained and pulled my shirt over my nose and said this should be ok right? Im here to pay for a car. The representative was *** and she said no but I will sell you a mask. I said Im not interested in paying for a mask, I need to pay for a car. Then the branch manager *** said in a loud tone you need a mask. I said Im not buying a mask, are you refusing to take my payment? Then he comes out to the lobby and gets within two feet of me and said do you think I want to where this mask? I said to him do not to get any closer to my face. He said I'm not in your face. Them a yard worker came up to me and said here I got you a new mask you can have it and gave it to me, I put it on and then *** said where is your vest? I said I dont have one with me, I need to pay for a car, do I need a vest to pay for a car!? Then after a brief moment *** accepted my payment. I did leave some feedback on the IAAI app but thought maybe it was just a bad day, so I didnt go further with a complaint. On 12/23 I arrived at the *** North branch to pay for a purchase (had my mask and vest) and gave the representative my buyer # and check for purchase. I was told its over my check writing limit she would see what can be done. After around 30 minutes she said she needed manager approval. I explained to her that I can also provide the manager with my account balance though my bank app so he would see that funds are there. *** branch manager said no cant do it. I went to my bank and completed the purchase, but not after inconvenience and my time waisted. I am a Dealer, a frequent buyer and have been a IAA buyer for several years. I cant believe an individual like this is a branch manager. I would like IAA to reimburse me for my most recent buy fee for this treatment. The stock # is zero zero zero three one six one seven two two seven. I have contacted IAAI customer service several times and they opened a complaint case, but have yet to get back with me.

IAA My IAA Buyer ID and location are confidential, and I am a motor vehicle wholesaler.

My IAA Buyer ID is confidential and I am a motor vehicle wholesaler. My IAA membership expired in early March 2022 and I chose not to renew it because IAA had suspended vehicle previews due to COVID-19. However, after receiving an email about the reinstatement of vehicle preview days starting March 7, 2022, I decided to renew my membership. Despite this, when I visited several branches to preview vehicles, I was informed that previews were still not permitted. Out of five vehicles I purchased, which were all advertised with clean titles and in running condition, only one met my expectations. One had a bad transmission and a detached exhaust system, another was missing a catalytic converter, and one had a severely compromised front-end suspension. The remaining two vehicles had undisclosed issues that were not mentioned on the website. I am apprehensive about the condition of the next vehicle I am scheduled to pick up on April 29, 2022. The lack of preview opportunities and accountability for sellers with undisclosed vehicle issues is frustrating. I believe IAA should offer refunds for these problematic sales or charge the sellers for their lack of transparency. If IAA does not follow through on their promise to allow vehicle previews, the upcoming pick up will be my last purchase, and I will seek a refund of my membership fee.

I sold my 2015 Kia for a certain amount on November 23. I tried to cash it today and it won't let me do it. I'm mad because I need the money and everyone I call is giving me the run around, and the bank is saying the account doesn't exist.

I am a car dealer running a small business, and I have encountered significant difficulties when dealing with IAA auction. Firstly, they have charged exorbitant fees for subpar service, both in-branch and over the phone. Attempting to reach customer service often results in waiting for over an hour, and the rationale behind these high fees is unclear to me.

Secondly, I have purchased several cars that had more damage and missing parts than what was indicated by the online sale pictures. Despite reporting these discrepancies to the very busy branch, no resolution or refund has been offered. Their fees are considerably higher than any other place I know of, and the service is the worst. The fees for each car can total between $700 to $1000.

Furthermore, they show no leniency with their charges, yet offer no assistance, refunds, or reimbursements to buyers like myself. I am seeking support for the following issues:

A. I recently purchased a car that was delivered without a bumper, lights, and grille, all of which were present in the sale picture. When I spoke to the receptionist, she informed me that they could not locate these parts. I am requesting reimbursement for this missing equipment.

B. Another car was advertised with an attached bumper in the pictures, but it arrived damaged and detached from the vehicle. I reported this to the manager at IAA and endured long wait times, but received no assistance. My account with IAA is under my business name, Queen's Auto. The recent purchase was a 2012 Kia with Stock#: [protected], and the older purchase was a CRV with Stock#: [protected].

Additionally, despite multiple calls and filing an online complaint, I have received no answer or response. It's hard to believe, but when I took my wife to inspect the damaged cars, they charged me $75 on top of my membership fee, which they refused to waive, and an additional $20 to accept my money order in the branch.

On November 22, 2022, I participated for the first time in bidding for a 2008 Navigator at the Phoenix Branch. My maximum bid was intended to be $1500. As the auction commenced, I noticed a suspicious bidder who consistently raised the stakes whenever I placed a bid. Eventually, I won the bid at $2200, which totaled about $3100 with fees included.

Living 120 miles away, I was unable to visit the branch in person to preview the truck. I also heard that they were often closed for viewing due to limited parking availability. The truck's images, showcasing a flawless body and clean black leather seats, seemed questionable. Additionally, a brief video of the engine running for 10 seconds didn't seem characteristic of a 5.4 Triton engine. Driven by skepticism, I conducted my own investigation post-purchase and discovered through VIN checks and the previous dealer that the vehicle had been involved in a lawsuit in 2019 where the owner had defaulted on a $9000 payment. It had also been voluntarily repossessed and had failed to match the pristine condition depicted in the photos.

On November 25, 2022, I requested current videos and pictures of the vehicle, but my request was denied. They only agreed to send a photo of the keys on the seat and the underside of the truck to confirm the presence of the catalytic converters. When I inquired about photos of the vehicle's four sides to ensure transparency, they refused. This situation is alarming and should be considered for criminal investigation, as it suggests the possibility of a fraudulent listing or manipulated images.

The ease with which a phone could capture the true state of the vehicle makes their refusal to provide additional evidence all the more suspicious. The vehicle is not in 'run and drive' condition as advertised, and the title is compromised with a potential duplicate existing. It's likely that the engine has the well-known issues with phasers and timing chains, which I could accept, but the dishonesty is unacceptable. They even refused to provide a live video of the engine starting when requested. Despite their misrepresentation, they are unwilling to waive the renege fee.

I purchased a vehicle from iaai at their online branch, and the listing indicated that the vehicle was operational with intact airbags. However, upon receiving the vehicle, I discovered that both the seat belts and airbags had been deployed and then concealed. Additionally, resistors had been inserted into the wiring to prevent dashboard warning lights from activating. The transmission casing was damaged, rendering the vehicle undriveable. To further disguise the damage, the front end had been assembled with a radiator and miscellaneous parts that did not belong to the vehicle, presumably to justify a higher asking price. The inventory number for this vehicle is 000-[protected].

IAA I am disabled 10 yrs and finally recovered enough to do something to subsidize my disability income

I am disabled 10 yrs and finally recovered enough to do something to subsidize my disability income. I needed a black *** to start a high-end Limosine svs in my beach town where I live. I saw a *** Listed on-line at SCA as *** w 18,107mi. I called IAA where car was sitting to ask them to check the mileage. I said it was the BLACK *** 244 stock #***-She said its not required"-"its not necessary...I said Its very Important. She said it would take a while and would call back.Left VM saying mileage 181,076mi. I called and asked her to change the listing and asked her to check the car for unspecified front end damage noted on website [DAMAGE REPORT YES- FRONT END NONE] AGAIN I specified 'the *** BLACK ***#.We waited while someone looked. I talked extensively about how "Excited I was to find a BLACK *** there very rare and intended to start a limosene service, and Had to have a black car." She put me on hold 2x for long time, came back asking again which car stock#and color. She stated she needed to talk to her supervisor and hung up.I did not hear from her again. The morning of the auction they changed the listing to "DAMAGE YES - FRONT END UNKNOWN but not mileage.I called and INSISTED miles changed AGAIN noting *** BLACK *** Again "its not required"and its not important I discussed why it was Critically important. They revised listing 30 min later. The car was also listed as black w a company "***" SCA offered link to buy a more detailed report. This is where I found 2accident reports front end ALSO stating" BLACK and 81K mi". I won the bid.Car arrived is BLUE. Purchase date 02/2/22 Car delivered 03/09/22 I spoke to IAA explaining my disability/eyes(2x) hoping they would paint it or refund me 100%.They refused both offers. I am loosing jobs almost daily and the stress has triggered my illness. Their email addresses now reply undeliverable.

We purchased a crankshaft from one of your partner companies. The crankshaft was shipped by a logistics provider and delivered to our house. Upon arrival, we discovered the crankshaft was broken in half. The logistics consulting firm is refusing to issue a refund or accept any responsibility. They have ceased responding to our calls, texts, and emails. As you are in partnership with this company, we kindly request your assistance in recovering our $1,035 US.

On 05 Oct 2022, I was involved in a single car accident. My car veered off the road and collided with a roadside reflector post (the green ones shaped like a U, made of 1/16 inch steel, about 4 inches wide, standing approximately 5 feet tall on the roadside). The rear right quarter panel of my car sustained some damage, and the plastic bumper cover needs to be replaced. I took the car to Maaco, located in the shopping center. They estimated the repair costs at $6,500. Due to technical issues with USAA's app, it took over 9 days to get in touch with an adjuster. When I finally reached an adjuster, he insisted that I have the vehicle towed to their facility for inspection by their specialist. Despite my reservations, I trusted USAA to act in my best interest. However, their specialist was at IAA, which is an auto auction house, not a repair shop. I was informed I had one day to retrieve my belongings from the vehicle, but mere hours later, my car was already taken away. A friend, aware of such deceptive practices, warned me that there might be an attempt to take my car. The following morning, at 7 AM, I called USAA demanding the return of my car. It wasn't until Monday evening that IAA returned my car, now with the front valence destroyed, the driver's window left open, the driver's seat and floor completely soaked, and the electric motor for the seat adjustment no longer functioning. Furthermore, a significant amount of my property was missing. While most items were carelessly thrown into the trunk, anything of value was gone. Among the missing items were a tube of 1-ounce silver coins, my Blue Point tool set, and all the loose change, which included about 5 pounds of dimes and quarters that I had been collecting for their metal value. Additionally, while the first shop quoted the repair job at $6,500, this new quote from the auction house's recommended shop was an exorbitant $16,500.

IAA charged a $200 annual renewal fee to my credit card without any warning or invoice. I did not knowingly request an "automatic" annual renewal. They offered me a free account. They emailed me (on a Saturday) informing me that they had charged my credit card on-file. That same day, the *** that the renewal was "due" I tired to cancel this payment, which I did not knowingly authorize, and they did not respond, nor did they "allow" me to use their chat function. They claimed that I was not able to supply the proper credentials to do so. I have entered a dispute with my bank against this charge. I have entered a complaint in their on-line system (a week ago) and they have not replied beyond an automatically generated email that states they will get back to me - which they have not. Also, when I tried to delete my credit card info from their web site, they would not allow me to do so stating that the account was needed to process their payment. I also tried to change my account to NOT have "automatic" renewal, and their web site would not allow that EITHER. I am concerned that they are stealing from many other people as well. I have screen captures of the communication w/ IAA if that will be helpful. Thank you.

I paid a fee to bid on vehicles online from IAA unbeknownst to me there are additional fees which have to be paid once auction is completed. These extra fees were not mentioned when I initially signed up for the auctions. I consequently won a vehicle but by the time the extra fees were added the vehicle was no longer a bargain. I contacted IAA on multiple occasions to no avail, after complaining I was no longer able to bid or buy anything. I paid 200 dollars to be able to bid/but salvage vehicles. Since I am unable to bid/buy I would like my money back

I would like to know after hitting a deer in my jeep progressive insurance towed my car to IAA an auction salvage yard before I was notified of the estimate and that they totaled out my vehicle. I had no idea where my jeep was When I found out an estimate for what I believe was a low settlement price and a high estimate on how much it would cost to fix it I knew something wasn't right I called another progressive agent and they said my jeep was totaled And to my surprise it was at IAA an auction yard in *** I went there today to retrieve anything I may have left in my jeep after I got permission to get in my own property finally Why is my jeep at an auction Yard?At this point and from day 1 after I received the estimate MY MINDSET IS TO GET THE *** AND FIX IT So today I go to IAA in *** Remember I own my jeep I hold the title This manager comes out and pretty much Questions me about what I am taking out of the vehicle I own Paid off for 10 years I am agitated and told him I am not stripping my own jeep I have the title I asked why my license plates are off my jeep He says Quote We take all the plates off so we can take pictures for auction vehicles. And how would that be possible without a title? This is my vehicle I own it So yes I voiced my opinion I get home and instantly check their auctions at *** IAA There it is my vehicle picture after picture inside and out and a video with the engine running advertising the sale of my jeep dated the day progressive had it towed to IAA Before I knew the settlement or that they totaled it out and looks like it has been on their website for days I have not signed anything or agreed to any settlement He knew my jeep was on their website when I was there and tried to back out of his statement How is this legal to advertise anything you don't own? I will check *** and take the necessary steps to stop this By the way Progressive advertises on The IAA website

I purchased a 2020 Cadillac XT4 at an auction on August 4, 2022. The sale item was labeled as 'A'. I have a buyer identification number, which I was assigned at the time of purchase. The vehicle has a specific stock number and a VIN that were provided to me. The purchase price was $12,250.00, not including additional fees. Unexpectedly, I was charged a sales tax of $796.08, which I did not authorize, as I was unaware of this charge due to my residency in a different state. I am seeking advice on how to obtain a refund for the sales tax that was applied to my purchase, as I understand that one should not be subject to double taxation in two different states. Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. My contact information includes my email address.

MADE MY FIRST PURCHASE WITH THIS COMPANY ON NOVEMBER 7. I LATER DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT THE VEHICLE DUE TO MANY HIDDEN FEES AFTER THE PURCHASE. THIS COMPANY CHARGES AN ANNUAL BIDDING FEE OF $200.00 SO I DIDN'T THINK THERE WOULD BE ADDITIONAL BUYERS FEES ON A PURCHASE. I CALLED THE COMPANY TO ASK WHAT THE PENALTY WOULD BE TO RENEGE ON THE PURCHASE. THE WOMAN I SPOKE TO ON PHONE WAS HARD TO UNDERSTAND. HER ENGLISH SPEAKING WASN'T GREAT. I MISUNDERSTOOD HER WHEN SHE SAID WHAT THE PENALTY WOULD BE. I UNDERSTOOD THAT THE PENALTY WOULD BE 15% OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OR $1000.00, WHICHEVER IS LESS. I ASKED SEVERAL TIMES IF IT WAS ONLY THE 15% THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AND SHE SAID YES. SO I SAID TO GO AHEAD AND CANCEL THE PURCHASE. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT I WAS MISTAKEN OR MIS INFORMED. THE PENALTY FEE WAS IN FACT $1000.00. THE VEHICLE THAT I PURCHASED WAS PRICED $850.00 SO WHY WOULD I EVER CANCEL THE BUY IF I KNEW THE PENALTY FEE WAS GREATER THAN THE PURCHASE PRICE? I SPENT MOST OF THE *** ON NOVEMBER 14 ON HOLD AND LEAVING MESSAGES WITH THE COMPANY ASKING THEM TO HELP ME RESOLVE THIS MISTAKE. I ALSO NOTICED THIS VEHICLE WAS STILL AVAILABLE TO BE PURCHASED FOR $850.00 ON THE WEBSITE SO I ASKED IF I COULD JUST GO AHEAD WITH THE PURCHASE INSTEAD OF PAYING THE PENALTY. EVERY PERSON I SPOKE WITH WERE COMPLETELY INCONSIDERATE AND WOULD NOT HELP ME REVERSE THIS MISTAKE. THEY INFORMED ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP ME. I TOLD THEM THIS WAS MY FIRST PURCHASE AND I AM A SMALL BUSINESS THAT CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY A PENALTY LIKE THIS AND NOT RECEIVE A VEHICLE. ALL I WAS ASKING WAS TO MAKE IT RIGHT WITH ME SINCE IT WAS A MISTAKE/MISUNDERSTANDING.

IAA Purchased vehicle with undisclosed major mechanical damage, seeking refund

I purchased a vehicle on May 19, which was listed as having normal wear and tear, running and driving, and even had a video of the car running. The total cost was $2218. Later, I discovered the vehicle had major mechanical damage, including a faulty water pump and timing chain, repairs exceeding the vehicle's value. IAA typically marks such vehicles distinctly, but this was not done. Upon complaint, IAA refused a refund, only offering to re-auction the car. I returned the car in better condition than received, fully detailed. However, IAA then listed it as non-running with mechanical damage, without a running engine video. I demanded a refund, as the listing was now inconsistent with its condition upon return. I spoke with a representative named Estefany, who promised to escalate the issue but never followed up. Despite multiple calls and having the car pulled from auction, I have not received a callback or refund as of June 13th, 2022.

I own a dealership in a local town, I bid on cars regularly at the IAA auction locations. I never had an issue until I started paying more for delivery using their IAA transport services which took three weeks to deliver. I bid on a car, and online it was indicated that the key was included. However, when the delivery was delayed beyond two weeks, my patience ran thin and I decided to retrieve the car myself. Upon arrival, after three employees searched the vehicle, the key was nowhere to be found. It was clearly visible in all the videos and pictures on the website. Their response was indifferent; they suggested it was stolen and dismissed it as not their responsibility. They refused to refund me for the car, emphasizing their lack of accountability despite the misleading information about the car on their website. I demand a refund for the car due to their unprofessionalism. Should they decline, I expect them to produce a new key, which costs approximately $500, and deliver it to my location at no additional charge. Their actions have led to weeks of waiting for a car that was inaccurately represented on their site.

We have purchased a 2014 Freightliner with the stock number previously indicated at a price of $22,099.00. Unfortunately, the truck has a transmission problem that was not disclosed in the advertisement. When we completed the paperwork for resale, the same truck, now with the transmission issue disclosed, was advertised with the same stock number. It sold for $8,955.00, which is only half of what we initially paid. We questioned the seller about why the transmission problem was not advertised initially, as we would not have agreed to pay $22,099.00 if we had known. We would have expected to pay something closer to $8,955.00. We demand a refund due to this false advertisement. This issue has been taken up with IAAI's special division, directed to the attention of the individual named Mune.

IAA I work as the inventory specialist at a car auction company in the US

I work as the inventory specialist at a car auction company in the US. We have purchased cars through IAA for years without issues until this year, now facing constant problems. Previously, vehicle pictures imported seamlessly into our system using the vehicle ID. Since mid-year, pictures fail to import, although standard vehicle information still does. Suspecting our system, we upgraded it, to no avail. I've been calling IAA since July, opening multiple cases with no resolution. IAA received a contact verification form on December 8th and an email about our issues, yet they haven't updated our information or responded to emails since July 15. I've called on multiple occasions, only to be advised to email a contact that never replies, or I get hung up on. In one instance, while verifying a vehicle's VIN, an IAA representative incorrectly claimed we sold the car to them, which is impossible since we're a salvage yard that buys, not sells, to auctions. After 6 months of poor service from IAA, I am considering other auction options.

IAA The name of the business is Greater

The name of the business is Greater. They are located in a nondisclosed area. I dropped off my 2007 Range Rover to be auctioned off. I have literally paid for a new paint job along with tinted windows and a car detail before dropping it off; this car is in great condition, looks and runs great! On August 8 of this year, after not even getting one bid for two weeks, I proceeded to pick up my car two Fridays after I dropped it off. When picking up my vehicle, I just hopped in my car, drove it home, parked it in the garage, and walked away. After a couple of days passed, I opened the garage to go get new brakes and I saw that they had crashed my car on the passenger back side! I immediately called and asked them to review the cameras and to hold the employee accountable who did this and get this fixed. They told me the manager was not in, so I put on all my clothes and headed up there to wait for him to arrive. Once I arrived, to my surprise, he was there and the first thing he said is they are not responsible for your car being crashed. I asked him to review the cameras first before telling me that he is not responsible; he told me he is not reviewing anything. Treated with nothing but disrespect, he refused to do anything and then I said OK and walked out of his establishment. He called me later and said that he apologizes and that he would get the light fixed that was broken in the crash, and pull out the dents that were also caused in the crash when it was in their possession. It has been a month and I have called every couple of days and they just keep giving me the runaround. There's no telling how many other customer cars do not sell for the highest price or don't sell at all because they caused damage and not tell anyone and not being held accountable in any way. Please help, this is all I have left and now I can't even sell it for the most that I could get. I don't have enough money to fix it, so this is it for me, please help. In any way, please.

IAA Advertised a running vehicle and no accidents

Advertised a running vehicle and no accidents. I wire transferred 2 payments within one day of each other for the total amount. Upon verification from Ridesafetly via Iaai auto auction, I was told I was clear to go pick up my vehicle and sent all documentation. I asked while on the phone with company, is there anything else I need to do Im booking a flight for my friend today to go retrieve the car and DRIVE it back. I asked this several times including email. I was told I was clear and yes car could be driven from location. So I booked a one way flight , paid for Uber 33 minutes, upon arriving at the *** location my friend was laughed at and told she wasnt driving the car anywhere. So stuck in a town in middle of nowhere, no luggage , no vehicle, no place to stay, I had to call back Uber to take her to near by *** her down, but needed supplies, wait until am to figure out why.. missed my 2 nd day of work, went to dmv, went *** as to why this was happening. They stated they did receive 2nd wire which it clearly stated on their website and banks it takes few day but they had already accepted both payments with confirmation numbers and knew it was processing. Still refused to hand over car and now stated she couldnt drive it but had to tow it. So another day another plane ticket back another Uber charge, and then to be threatened by the auction yard as to a limited time frame or else. So another day of work missed figuring out the issue and by this time the wire had cleared as stated time frame. Reminder, vehicle stayed on the lot. It states also on website that you have 4 days courtesy storage then 40$ a day charges begin. That was Wednesday vehicle was paid for on September 28,2022 so storage would start Monday October 2, 2022. During the weekend I talked to 100 different auto transport companies which was a whole other nightmare. Finally landing on a company Sunday , it was another $680 to bring vehicle to my home. IAA In November , I successfully bid on a 2018 GMC Acadia at an auction.

In November , I successfully bid on a 2018 GMC Acadia at an auction. The vehicle was advertised as operational with primary damage to the front end. The listing included images of the interior, front, sides, back, engine, and dashboard. My winning bid was $16,000. On November 26th, I delivered a check to the IAA branch, totaling $18,534.56, covering fees and taxes. Payment was required to access the vehicle. After completing the payment, I received the title and key fob and was directed to the vehicle's location. Contrary to the description, the car was inoperable, and the roof was severely damaged. The sunroofs were shattered, exposing the interior to the elements, leaving ice in the cup holders. This discovery was heartbreaking. My husband and I returned to the office and spoke with the staff, who were sympathetic but unable to refund my check since the title transfer was complete. They offered to auction the car again without storage or additional fees to help me recover my funds. Over the next few weeks, I communicated with the staff and quickly received the title back. I sent it to the office, expecting them to reuse the original listing images. However, they decided against it, fearing the same issue with a new buyer. I was frustrated, understanding that including images of the damaged roof in the new listing would likely reduce my chances of recovering the full amount. I was informed that it was their policy not to photograph the roofs, a detail that would have deterred my initial bid had I been aware of the extent of the damage.

IAA On December 21st my Iaai account was hacked

On December 21st my Iaai account was hacked. There were approximately 12 cars purchased "buy now" all at the same time. I started receiving text messages on my phone and was like what is that. I look and it is all of these messages saying cars had been added to my account. I was in shock and had no idea what was going on, then I was thinking maybe it was a mistake. Before Iaai has put car on my account in error then remove it. I immediately changed my username and password and contacted buyer services. The customer service I received was so horrible with the first representative. 1. We are talking $117K in cars - my heart was racing because of this. I tell the agent my information and she asked who I had given my information to. I replied indicating I hadn't given it to anyone and she said to me"I doubt that, I don't believe it." I said excuse me. She went on to say there was no way someone hacked into my account and that we gave the information to someone. At that point my wife just asked to speak to a supervisor. We were on hold about 25 mins. 2. The "supervisor" at buyers services came on and he said he would deactivate the account, and reach out to the branch managers involved and that he could see they were all purchased at the same time. Told us to reach out too. 3. I have filed a police report and contacted every branch. Sent e-mails and called. Newburg is the only branch who removed everything no problem. Englishtown was suppose to call back, they never did, they removed cars but gave me fees. Bridgeport the guy was very nice said he was contacting regional on how they are supposed to handle but have not heard back. Then *** and *** nothing.4. I just want to get the cars removed and the fees taken off and my account turned back on. I provided a police report and contacted buyers services immediately. Not sure why the communication is so bad and this was $117,000 this is a lot of money. I can't get any response from them at this point

IAA March 29, 2022, stock number Stock#:[protected], I purchased a 2007 Honda Accord blue with an undisclosed odometer reading.

On March 29, 2022, under stock number Stock#:[protected], I purchased a 2007 Honda Accord in blue, with the odometer reading not specified. The mileage was listed as actual on the website for seven business days before the auction on March 29, 2022. I paid $2,012 and picked up the car on March 31, 2022, receiving it on April 6, 2022. I paid $800 for a transporter to bring the car from Long Island. Upon arrival, the Accord had extensive damage on the passenger right side. The headlight, fender (which also had rust), and the lower crossboard were damaged. I called a representative on April 6, 2022, at noon and sent pictures of the damage. I followed up with emails to the representative and the general manager. The general manager acknowledged the damage occurred at their location and offered $200 compensation, which I refused as it was insufficient. I requested a full refund instead. However, he stated I would have to cover the return shipping costs. Additionally, the car was listed with actual miles on the website, but reports indicated odometer tampering. The last recorded miles were on September 22, from an auction. On May 20, 2022, I emailed at 5:22 PM for an update on the refund due to the damage and mileage misrepresentation.

IAA On October 31st, Insurance Auto Actions (IAA) was hacked

On October 31st, Insurance Auto Actions (IAA) was hacked. My account, my information, Auto dealer permit number, Paypal account and identity was compromised along with the information of other buyers. On my case, the hacker, *** from ***, accessed my account, and was able to purchase and pick up 2 vehicles and titles from Insurance Auto Auctions in *** between 5:00 in the morning and 7:00 in the morning. All my information was compromised, he was able to tell dispatchers to have the vehicles and titles ready within a 2 hour window. IAA did not call, text or emailed me any questions in regards as to who *** was or to confirm why I was purchasing from *** at 5:00 in the morning when I reside in ***. If you ask me, in my humble opinion, this was an inside job. I have been buying vehicles from auctions for over 10 years, it is impossible to buy, pay and pick up a vehicle within a 2 hour window. Let alone access all type of information on my account without even asking to confirm the purchases. I have emailed IAA and was told by *** to "file a theft report with local police" when the breach of security happened in *** and on IAA website. It is their responsibility to chase criminal that can access so easily their clients account. I have tried to talk on the phone with IAA but I have been put on holds of over 40 min at a time and then hanged up on. IAA is expecting me to chase a hacker and report a vehicle that I never bought as stolen. My account was inactivated by *** who is demanding I pay for those units, not allowing me to communicate via chat with a representative. Their security failed, my account along many others was hacked, they know this as in one of the emails *** writes "we were notified that unauthorized vehicles were purchased on your account" yet she is refusing to reverse the payment to paypal, and is asking me to report the vehicles as stolen. WTH?!
