I lived at *** (unit 311) before and me and my wife just left. We made sure the unit was clean and in good shape. We got our final move out bill for $206.26. Everything looks good except for the cleaning fee. We took over 100 pictures of the unit before we left to show that we cleaned it. I asked why we were charged this fee but I didn't get a good answer. We shouldn't have to pay it. When we moved in, we had to clean up animal poop on the floor that was left by the last person who lived there. I think the unit was managed by someone else at that time. We left the unit cleaner than when we got it. We should only have to pay $129.53. That's the move out charges minus the $75.00 cleaning fee and the $1.73 cleaning fee tax. I asked the apartment about this but they keep saying that's all I have to pay. They act like I'm getting a good deal but I shouldn't have to pay the cleaning fee/tax. Please take off the $75.00 cleaning fee and $1.73 cleaning fee tax and send me a new final move out bill.

I used to live at Driftwood Apartments, which is owned by Goodman Real Estate. I stayed there from Feb 1, 2020, to Jan 31, 2021. I wanna complain about some stuff that happened there. They charged me for things that I don't think were right, and they didn't give me credits that I was owed. I think the manager, Stephanie, had a problem with me personally. When I moved out, they charged me $190 for cleaning fees that weren't on my lease. They said it was normal, but I don't think it's right to add fees like that without telling people. I left the place cleaner than when I moved in, but they still charged me. Also, I told Stephanie that I was moving out on Jan 31, but she didn't tell me that I had to give her the keys that day. She waited until later to tell me, so she could charge me for another day's rent and utilities. She put all the charges for Feb 1 on my last bill, so it was hard to see what I was paying for. She also didn't take off a fee for renter's insurance, even though I showed her proof that I had it. She never answered my email about it. There were also some mistakes on my bill, like the wrong amount for water and a wrong payment amount. Finally, Stephanie had a Halloween contest where the winner was supposed to get a $100 Amazon gift card. But when I won, she changed the rules and gave me a $25 Bed Bath & Beyond gift card instead. I have proof of all of this stuff. I've rented a lot of places, and I've never had someone treat me like this. It's not right to charge people for things they don't owe just because you don't like them. I hope the ComplaintsBoard.com can help stop this from happening to other people who can't fight back.
