FloatMe BEWARE- stay away

Update 2/26: I have added all of the necessary verbiage to my emailed requests “tessaz3633 billing review” multiple times the most recent being today. After their original response I immediately messaged with tessaz3633 billing review as the subject. I was again charged another monthly membership fee.

Update: they told me to email them about my request, nearly a month later and I have still NOT gotten a response. DO not use this service.

Original Review:
I used this one time and was aware of the member ship fee. After I repaid my first float I cancelled my membership and was immediately locked out of my account. Now they have charged me ANOTHER membership fee and it has been plenty of time for them to cancel my account. This is fraudulent and I will be reporting it to ComplaintsBoard.com, my bank and any other review center I can find. I have emailed support and will update my review when they correct my issue. Do not sign up for this it is not worth the $20 float.

FloatMe They delete negative reviews

This will soon be deleted; but I contacted the ComplaintsBoard.com on their shady practices. As previous reviewed: As I stated to the agent, (12/16) there is no proof or information (email or mail) that stated I ever fully signed up for an account. According to my email I received an code on Nov 2020, to use to sign up. The email stated that I was NOT completely signed up until I used this link. I did not receive any emails from FloatMe confirming I was signed up let alone any emails until this past November when I actually signed up. After connecting my account approximately 22 dollars was withdrawn from my account. Without any proof of an unsuccessful billing that occurred for what I believe is 10 months due the amount of times I was charged ( for a membership i never signed up for), I should be refunded the amount. This seems to be a reoccurring theme within your reviews from multiple forums, therefore I will be forwarding the conversations and proof from my end to the ComplaintsBoard.com and Consumer FTC.

FloatMe WARNING

The last Float I received was on 9/10 for $20. There has been a total of $92 taken out of my account since then. $20 on 9/24 and $24 on 10/6. $24 on 10/12 and $24 on 10/18. After the 2nd payment reached out to them to see I If they could correct this overpayment and they replied as if I had requested cash from them twice which I had not. So I replied back to let them know and even provided screenshots of my bank statement. I never heard back from them after that. Now there have been two additional payments taken from my account. I sent a support request and asked for a number to their corporate office go which I received no reply and now I’ve sent a third message because at this point I’m about to take legal action. Please do not do business with this company. They are stealing your hard earned money directly from your bank account. UPDATE: After reporting to the ComplaintsBoard.com and stating plans for legal action they sent me back all 3 additional payments. It still doesn’t change my mind about them at this point. I’ve cancelled my membership and will not use them ever again.

FloatMe Literally took money from me

I downloaded this when I was short handed one week. It was nice because the approval process was simple, and I got $10 sent to me for gas, and then $20 later when I needed it again. HOWEVER, I have tried over and over again without fail for WEEKS to login to my account and it claims that “Plaid”, whom they use to link your bank account, will not allow me to re-link my account. I have changed my bank password and logged into my bank, via their website, no problem at all, but every time I try to login to this app, it will not allow me. You cannot find contact information for them anywhere online. I did finally discover a place I could email them and I emailed them well wishing the 30 day “trial period” that I dislike the app function and wish to cancel my account. Never heard a flipping word back from the whatsoever and now they’ve charged me the $1.99 monthly fee, which is unethical, as I specifically requested to cancel the account before the trial period ever ended. And, as an added surprise, that also makes zero sense, I opened the account in November 10-11, which means the charge should’ve come somewhere around December 10th, yet it charged on the 29th of December, giving me the impression for the past couple of weeks that it was successfully cancelled, despite their failure to respond to my request, then BAM, charged my account. Can an admin please respond to this and refund the $1.99 charge as well as CANCEL THE ACCOUNT. Very unprofessional this unresponsive nature. Seems a lot of people have similar issues.

FloatMe DO NOT USE THIS OR EVEN SIGN UP TO TRY THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY

I’ve been getting charged $1.99 for almost a year maybe more from them all the time! It’s more frequent than just once a month that’s how I caught onto it lately and now my account is overdrawn from them too! I tried A LOOOONG TIME AGO to get a payday loan that was either only $10 or I didn’t get one at all. After I downloaded it and realized they were trash cuz they never offered anything helpful and they had taken their money back then I seen they were still charging me even after they received their pay back money I quickly canceled it. I repeat.. I CANCELED MY ACCOUNT AND SUBSCRIPTION but apparently that only stopped them from taking my money for a little while because they STARTED TAKING IT AGAIN! I KNOW FOR AN ABSOLUTE FACT THAT I CLOSED/CANCELED MY SUBSCRIPTION OR ACCOUNT WITH THEM. I went to the website to try to get my money back and tried to log in with what should have been my p/w and email (since my phone still had it saved) and it said password was wrong. So I hit forgot my password and according to their website if you have an account with them you will get an email. I GOT NO EMAIL. I checked all my folders too including spam. And this is the only email I have. I want my money back and need my money back but I doubt these scammers will give it to me DO NOT USE THIS APP ITS NOT WORTH IT AND THEY PRET UPON PEOPLE WHO NEED HELP THEY MAKE YOUR FINANCIAL SITUATION SO MUCH WORSE. I’m going to have to close my entire bank account I guess. There’s so many other payday advance apps that that won’t steal your money get one of them NOT FLOAT ME

FloatMe TOOK MY MONEY! Don’t use!

Downloaded this app in September and never was “FLOATED” money from these guys yet they’ve taken at least $100 of MY money! Noticed it today because my checking account is in the negative from them taking $40 I NEVER BORROWED For your response…. This has nothing to do with my with my bank! You guys take $1.99 for a membership fee, ok! But since September you guys have taken $100 from my account. $20, 5 different times! So I’m confused STILL because my membership fee to this date should have only been $4.98! DO NOT USE THIS APP THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND BLAME IT ON YOUR BANK! They think people are stupid! Yea I was, for downloading this app!

So update 10/28/22

I canceled my account through the app.
By the way, on the app there’s no way to unlink your bank account. There’s no way to update any important information like your job or anything on this app anywhere so everything stays the same so after I canceled my account with them they just now after us as I’ve been a member since August 2022 just finally took the dollar 99 membership fee out of my account a few days ago for the first time but before this had taken out five $20 payments but has never floated me $20 and the responses only towards the first review of me complaining that now my account is negative they said that was due to my bank now that’s due to there was no money in there and you guys were again trying to take money out that wasn’t owed to you Do not use this app. It’s a huge fraud. There’s no contact number all you get is a contact address in an email address you cannot call anyone. And all your stuff stays linked so they’re just gonna keep taking money from my account for the rest of my life now I don’t think so.

FloatMe Overall happy enough to give 5 stars

I will express some frustration… However it’s not a reasonable enough of an issue to cause a lowering of a star… but maybe good information for somebody…. There is a fee for using this service that is monthly. Very small and very fair if you use the service… it’s extremely small… The only issue… is that you are not able to pause it if you don’t need the service without fully and completely cancelling… so I used this for a few months a year or 2 ago and it was very helpful and like I said extremely cheap… but then I didn’t use this at all… for pretty much a year [(maybe even longer, could be a tiny bit shorter) but for sure right around a year]… But… was charged the monthly fee nonetheless… It is n out a big deal… because I paid more for other services like this in a couple months than I paid for this in a couple years! So it’s still worth considering keeping this even when you are not using it.. because in todays economic instability anything could happen. And I assume that if you’re looking into a service like this… you aren’t a part of small percentage of very wealthy individuals… And 99% of the population are never to far away from potential financial uncertainty… anyways… I recommend this because it is super cheap… and helpful… just remember that it still charges you when you stop using it so make sure not to have a $0 or negative balance in your bank account to avoid overdraft and/or insufficient funds fees… That happened to me at least twice.. but is completely my fault again.. so it wouldn’t be fair to take off a star for that either. But maybe you guys could please delay a payment a couple days if the money isn’t on the account you’re trying to charge it to… To keep your loyal/long term customer case from having detrimental consequences due to this. Yes it is their responsibility.. but it would be super awesome! Not many, but a couple other similar companies (that charge 4-10 times as much) offer this courtesy service. However- it is understandable for you not to. Thank You!

FloatMe Real/RVW- limited payday advancement app

Hi I test apps and leave reviews for consumers for free cause the world is the world, this review is honest and mentions all personal experiences of using this app nothing is fabricated nor over exaggerated. Im not affiliated with any company.

Key Experience: this app will overdraft your account it doesn't pay its self back properly, days will pass before float attempts to take back borrowed funds this app is not practical

Summary of app/ experience

This app will allow you to withdraw money within your pay period for 1.99 a month. IMMEDIATE withdrawal comes with a $4 fee, FREE withdrawal takes 2-3 business days to reach your account. “Only” $10 or $20 are allowed to be withdrawn for a single period. you will be given an option to increase but that option will remain unavailable at the discretion of the developers. They tell you how your able to increase the balance but after tinkering with the different ways to increase I didn't receive one. After contacting the developers and asking for an increase in my balance I was ignored which seems to be the story of many here in the comments “ want more money, TO BAD pay me! There are requirements to withdraw funds early, such as having a balance above $0.00 and a positive payment history with float, they also require at least 3 consecutive deposits of no less than $200.00 and you cant have any large atm withdrawals after or prior to your payday. So if your in need for immediate financial help please go to recommendations or keep looking.

Wrap- up / recommendations

These requirements seem normal for a company looking to lend money to strangers ;however, this app doesn't seem to fully fulfill its end of the deal. If your in need of an advancement in your paycheck with minimum hurdles my recommendation would be Earnin they
have a large burrow amount with little to no hassle in getting the funds they have similar requirements and they will charge you on the due date, no need to worry about random unforeseen overdrafts. Float just seems to operate completely autonomously with little human interactions in my opinion. developers are not fast with responding and the interface seems is to simple for a paycheck advancement app. Since installing the app theres been one updated but nothing but the app logo changed. I also get a sketchy vibe because the app states its a financial app but the resources they provide are mediocre everyday articles and opinions from unreliable sources, not to mention they don’t automatically pull what you borrow like they state and blame you for the mis hap . Float may just be a developer piggy banks

FloatMe Never gives above $20

UPDATE*** so they suspended my account due to their own errors and said they would fix it. That was last week! Do not use this app! They mess up all the time.

*** Still no response or money in my account. Since they have been responding to other people, If I don’t get the money and it is taken out of my bank account, I will turn it in to the bank as fraud. Update:: Even worse now. They show on the app that I have a payback but they still have not given me the money. Requested it last week for a standard payment. Just gets worse and worse! Contacted customer service yesterday and still no response. *** Doesn’t matter how many times I use it and pay it back or what my bank account shows, I never get over $20. It does come in handy but it shouldn’t say they increase it as they get to know you. That’s a lie

And there’s absolutely no way to update or change anything to your FloatMe account! once you’ve made it you cannot make changes you can’t update it nothing!
I just spent hours reading answers to questions on how I can my update my information or manually put in my direct deposits.

I give up at this point am done.,, It makes absolutely no sense to have an application thatblenes you money that you were unable to update or add anything to l!@you why do you make your profile unprofessional and annoying.

I most likely will be disconnecting my a when I do pay back.
