Epcor review: Rip Off

I am wondering who is there to protect against big corporation bullying. I moved and changed my services for my gas and electricity with all my providers except EPCOR. I changed it but a couple weeks late. I called on August 6, 2013 to advise I had moved. they advised that I have to give three days notice so they will charge me till August 9th at my old address which is in there terms and conditions. Okay whatever but they are going to back charge me at my new address to July 15. You cant go back to end my services at my old address but you can go back to back charge me. Only because it benefits them right. Who is there to protect us against these contracts that in no way protect us. The lady on the phone also advised me that I have no choice but to go through EPCOR for my water and sewage. So I am forced to deal with a company... no wonder they can bully me.
