Don't trust this company. They will try to sell you a membership with a ton of "free services" as a bonus. That's what happened to us. We had just moved into a new house and we didn't know the last time a bunch of maintenance things had happened. So, we got the membership because we needed those "free services" anyway. Well, of those free services they only did 1! The heating system check. Everything else they either couldn't do for one reason or another or they ADVISED against doing it. We spent $280 on a membership for absolutely nothing! On top of that, they broke things and left jobs incomplete. Yeah, you would think a plumber would remember to properly reassemble the pipes for the kitchen sink BEFORE leaving. Nope. The guy left and not 5 mins later I had to call them again and they sent an entirely new guy out to fix the first guy's mistake. Took more than an hour for them to get there. Additionally, his fix didn't last but 2 days and the pipes literally fell apart. Mind you that the pipes falling apart was NOT an issue before they got their hands on them. I finally called my father and he graciously came and fixed ECO's blunder. I was finally over their mistakes and told a manager there that we would never do business with them again. He even acknowledged my statement, but fast-forward roughly 6 months and they charged my credit card for another annual membership. When I called I had to wait until the next day for a manager to call me back (FYI - their follow through on those escalation calls is horrendous). When someone finally got back to me he said that I didn't say the right thing to the manager previously. Unless they hear the specific request to close the account and the specific request to remove billing information, they will continue to bill. Like saying I don't trust their company any longer and will never do business with them again isn't clear enough? Not even enough that the manager might ask a clarifying question like, "Does that mean we should cancel you account and billing?" The escalation manager conveniently failed to even address that question, instead dancing around it with statements of we have to hear this or what if you cooled down and wanted out help again? He actually tried to make it seem like having to give them my address and card number again was more inconvenient than having to request this $280 refund. Really?
So, in short, this is not a company you can trust.
Recommendation: Find another company.
I have used Eco a couple of times, and unfortunately my experience has been very disappointing.
The first time I scheduled an appointment, I was contacted near the appointment window and told it needed to be rescheduled due to an emergency. I understood and was accommodating. When it happened a second time, they provided a $50 credit, which I appreciated, but I was still inconvenienced.
However, when it happened a third time, it became difficult to believe that every cancellation was due to an emergency. What was most frustrating was that a technician called about an hour before the scheduled appointment to confirm he would arrive at 6:00 p.m. Then, approximately 30 minutes later, I received a call from the office stating that he had been assigned to a three-hour job and would not be available.
The inconsistency in the explanations left me feeling that I was not being given an honest account of what was happening. Reliability and communication are important to me, and this experience did not meet those expectations.
To make matters worse, a friend I referred to Eco experienced similar scheduling issues. Based on my experience, I would have serious concerns about their scheduling practices and customer communication.
Not good business in my book. I can handle delays and rescheduling when they are communicated honestly, but I do not appreciate feeling misled.
