DDR removed an old elevated deck and put in it's place a beautiful new deck and lovely enclosed sunroom. All their work was professionaly done and in a timely manner. Kevin, the design manager, and Kyle, the project manager, handled the job with great efficiency and answered any and all questions. Even with a wintery start and possible material delays the work was completed amazingly fast and I was kept informed as to each part of the building process. I would recommend Distinctive Design Remodeling for any project you might desire.

The work was wonderful and the guys were absolutely professional every step of the way. We dealt with Jordan to start with, then Kyle for the remainder of the remodel, and we have nothing but praises to sing for the company and their work performance. Our new family room and daughter's room and glam closet turned out so much better than even we imagined, and we now have beautiful bright rooms where once we had a dark drab basement. We are very pleased with our new deck and porch that DDR installed. They said they could start construction in seven weeks and in six weeks three days the lumber was delivered and in seven weeks a crew showed up and began work. The entire project took three weeks so we were very happy with that. Our project manager Eain Moseley was great to work with. He was very responsive whenever we had a question and kept us informed on the status of our project. Overall it was a great experience and we are very pleased with the entire experience. Would highly recommend DDR.

My wife and I decided to use DDR for our sunroom addition because our neighbors had used them a couple years ago. We were very impressed with the build quality and building process of their room addition. We had DDR give us a free quote and decided that the price was fair. The process began and ended within 5 weeks with very good communication throughout. We are now looking at a finished product that looks like it has always been a part of our home. From start to finish during our screened-in porch project, the folks at Distinctive Design Remodeling made sure we were informed about options and fully understood each stage of the project. From the first time we met with Jesse, he made sure the plans for the project were exactly what we wanted, while project manager Kyle made sure everything was progressing as it should. My wife and I both commented about how responsive and efficient the DDR team was throughout the project. Hiccups are part of any type of construction, but it's how a company responds that makes the difference. These guys are good! Being new to Central Kentucky, my family moved into a home with a large unfinished basement and we knew we wanted to finish it right away. I interviewed and had quotes from 5 construction companies. Not only did DDR provide the most competitive price, but they were also able to start the soonest. Within just a few weeks, they were on site and work began. Our project coordinator Kyle was great, keeping me in the loop at each step of the construction process. Crews showed when they said, did quality work and completed the job when they said they would. Any concern I had was addressed and explained. The owner Jon was gracious when we did have an issue come up and made it right. Overall, very happy with the whole process - the sales process, providing a great solution to a layout issue we faced, friendliness of the staff and contractors and the quality of work. My husband and I talked about adding a sunroom and a deck to our house on several occasions but we would put it off. Our neighbors recently added a sunroom to their home and they sang the praises of Chris and Distinctive Design Remodeling. We were able to see first hand the progress and the professionalism and dependability of the work crews as well as the good review from our neighbors. With this being said, we decided to go forward with our room addition and deck so we took down the phone number from the sign in their front yard and called DDR for a consultation. We met with Kevin Kelly and discussed our plans for the addition. We agreed on the terms, placed our deposit. Plans were drawn up and finalized. Chris Thomas, Senior Project Mgr contacted us and explained all the details and answered all our questions. Materials were ordered and delivered. The work crews, inspectors, electricians, roofers, framers, etc. were all very professional, and courteous. We love the new addition and plan to enjoy it for a long time. We chose Distinctive Design Remodeling to build our sunroom and deck this summer based on the enthusiastic reviews of friends who had screened in their deck. We are delighted we chose DDR to work for us. We were impressed by the number and quality of skilled professionals and the coordination among them. I can see how DDR manages to complete so many projects! Once the construction started, they were able to finish the project in a month as they had estimated, in spite of many days of rain. The crew members showed up whenever they said, put in long hours, and were professional in all their dealings with us. It was clear how the crew members took pride in their work and how attentive they were to the details. Their coordination of work from delivery of materials, laying the foundation, framing the room, building the deck, and clean up was all we could have hoped for. They were flexible in working with us on the design and even went beyond what we agreed on in the original plans. Our new and beautiful room and deck actually exceed our expectations in the quality and soundness of construction and design. We are thrilled with the final product and would not hesitate to use DDR for future projects.

We heard of Distinctive Design Remodeling (DDR) through a commercial on YouTube and the radio. We contacted them through their website inquiring about getting our basement finished. We actually received a call back within 24 hours and someone was at our house within the next seven days. The Senior Design Manager arrived at our home and showed us examples of DDR's finished work and asked us about our design ideas. After we agreed to their service, the ball began rolling within two weeks. It was an intense process. Lots of calls back and forth, contractors in and out, materials being dropped off, all of the normal things dealing with home projects. There was a mix up in our bathroom with the plumber and electrician and where things would be placed; DDR corrected this mistake immediately. There were also some mishaps and ordering delays with our bathroom back splash due to the pandemic that extended the project out longer. DDR responded professionally and with integrity and even still, our basement was finished enough to furnish within two months. My advice to any future customers to make this process even smoother than it will be, is to make sure you know the exact contact person for your project once it begins. We had some hiccups the first two weeks with contacting the wrong person trying to get information. But, once we knew who to contact, the communication couldn't have been better. Overall, if I had to recommend a company to my closest friends and family for remodel, it would be Distinctive Design Remodeling.

We are extremely pleased with our basement renovation that DDR did for us. Our basement was completely unfinished and had a bathroom layout that was not ideal for us when we purchased the home. From the very first meeting, we felt that DDR listened to our needs, gave us input that would help us keep the project cost lower (i.e. it would be best not to break all the concrete to move the bathroom from one end of the basement to another, but instead rotate the bathroom to take up fewer window spaces) and came up with a plan that made us very happy. Our project manager Kyle ran the project smoothly. The level of experience, communication, and coordination he brought to the project was par to none. Any hiccup we had he worked around it. Any item that needed fixing was done within the week, and to be honest the items to be fixed were minor (leveling concrete before flooring gets put in, patching holes, applying extra caulking). The hiccups were mostly items on our end, where the shower pieces we ordered came broken twice. Instead of stopping the project until we had the shower pieces redelivered, Kyle worked the schedule to have his crew work on something else in the meantime. All crew members, the plumbers, and the electricians were pleasant to work with and respected our home. DDR seems to take the time to vet the people they hire and contract out for projects, which we can all appreciate. The crew went above and beyond on the work and clean-up. Even going as far as patching holes my husband and I made in the staircase while we moved an old fridge down. I wish they did kitchen remodels; I would hire them for that project in a heartbeat. We have recommended Kyle to our neighbors who are interested in finishing their basement as well, and I know they were impressed with what they saw. We absolutely love the space that DDR created for us.

Instead of replacing our 15 year old deck, we decided to add a sunroom. Found DDR through the "Lexington" SubReddit and couldn't be happier with the result. Here's the quick breakdown of the process we went through (as far as I can tell, this is the typical flow of things): QUOTE/CONSULT: Submitted request for a quote on their website, was contacted next day by their office and scheduled a quote later that week. They took some measurements, and we discussed the details (size, design elements) of we were looking for. It was really helpful to look at all the pictures of other DDR projects that he had with him. DESIGNS AND PAPERWORK: One huge advantage of working with DDR was that they dealt directly with our HOA and the city inspectors. The DDR staff navigated those treacherous waters so we didn't have to deal with that kind of headache. COMMUNICATION: We had Kyle as our PM and he was awesome! Before the project began, he called me up and we chatted for an hour about how the project would flow, expectations/timelines, etc... Given that everyone in the construction/remodeling business was dealing with material shortages, it was great to discuss the possible challenges of this project up front. In the end we were fortunate to have very little delay (had to wait on windows but wasn't more than a few days). CLEARING OLD DECK: The tear down crew was very efficient and had the deck torn down and removed in a day and a half. CONSTRUCTION OF SUNROOM: Start to finish was in the predicted range of 8-10 weeks. Was the crew at our house every day? No, but each day I got an email from Kyle at 7am saying "Hey, we will/will not be at your place today", which was a nice heads up. OVERALL IMPRESSION: this was our first home addition, and we couldn't be happier with the final product. We just had some family visiting from out of town and they spent almost the entire weekend in the sunroom because it is so nice. Final product was a 12x18 sunroom with side deck, landing, and stairs.

When I submitted my sunroom addition project on HomeAdvisor, I received a list of potential contractors in the Louisville area. After reviewing them on their own websites, ComplaintsBoard.com, and Angie's List, I narrowed the list to three to bid on the project. Of these, Distinctive Design Remodeling (DDR) stood out for a couple of reasons. First, their representative Kevin Kelley was quick to point out a big flaw in my amateur design, and he suggested a major improvement to the roof structure. This change was not only more structurally sound, but it also eliminated the need for steps down into the room and allowed for smoother access from the main part of the house. The other candidates were willing to work with my design as drawn, even after acknowledging that a roof of that size would be a problem. Second, Kevin gave me a firm price on the spot. Another builder got back to me ten days later with an estimate, not a definite price, which he wanted me to sign. The third wanted each subcontractor to come into my home and submit their individual estimates, and he also required that I pay about $500 upfront for a design drawing before he would submit a bid, whether I went with that company or not. DDR won my confidence and my contract. DDR is the only remodeler in the local industry that does not use subcontractors. This meant that once my project was on their schedule, the work flowed smoothly with little downtime. The 514-square foot addition was completed in five weeks, even counting at least a week for rain delays. There was no lost time due to a craft having to complete a different project before they could get to mine. The tradespeople were professional, courteous, and efficient. As each group finished their part, they cleaned up after themselves. On the last day the cleanup crew removed all debris and even used a metal detector in my yard to make sure no nails were left in the grass. I have no complaints about the quality of the work. The few minor issues that arose were fixed quickly. The quality of workmanship is excellent, and I am now the proud owner of a lovely new sunroom, which blends in beautifully with the original structure. I would recommend DDR to anyone who is interested in adding on to their home.
