Yes, be wary of them. I bought an apartment in Aykon City Tower B and got completely ripped off. I signed thinking I was buying an apartment that I could rent out (as guaranteed by Damac's salespeople), but once the apartment was finished and delivered, they told me that I couldn't rent out my apartment and that I had to go through Damac for rental and management. At first I thought, why not, but then I realized it was a scam because the rental price is below market value, Damac takes a large percentage, and worse still, they charge exorbitant service fees (“service charges”). In the end, there's almost nothing left!

Today, the apartment I paid 1.5 million AED for is worth nothing to me! It is stuck with Damac, who are making a fortune off my back. If I want to sell it, I won't get a good price given the bad reputation of Aykon City Tower B! It's a real nightmare. Apparently, there are other people in court with Damac over this issue, according to several people I have spoken to. I don't want to go to court because I'm abroad and I don't want to lose any more money in this case.
