On the company's website the had several Kia Soul advertised for $17, 660 (MSRP including options). One of the options was a mirror with compass listed at $180. I had spoken with the salesman the previous day and he had told me that they would need my trade in to give me a trade in price. I went with the trade in vehicle the following day (with a copy of the just printed internet ad). But from the time I printed the ad to the time I got to the dealership (about 15 minutes) the price of the optional mirror went from $180 to $275, and the price of the car went up to over $20, 000. I was told that this discrepency was due to an "addendum" included in all their cars. The "addendum" consists of a $2, 420.00 surcharge for insurance coverage of: "Repair chips or small cracks in windshield. Paintless small dent. Repair of cuts, rips, tears and burns to carpet, interior, upholstery and leather." I told the sales manager, Jason Williams, that I did not want this "addendum". He insisted that he could not sell the car without it. He also informed me he would not sell the car for the advertised price because the car was selling very well and because the internet ad was not theirs. The http is "kiaoflongview.com" and there is no other Kia dealer in Longview. It lists their address and phone number. I do not know of other Kia dealers, but this one I would surely stay away from.

For what it's worth, Jason Williams is now general manager of Crown Kia, and I can attest that these same highly deceptive "bait and switch" sales transactions are still taking place at Crown Kia of Longview TX as of January 21, 2014.

Having bought, sold, and traded several vehicles over the years, I can attest absolutely that my 75-year-old pre-alzheimer's mother's "deal" with Crown Kia is the very worst example of screwage I have ever seen. Elder abuse should extend to predatory car salesmen like Jason Williams, GM of Crown Kia. Yes, my elderly mother is to blame for the screwage. That, and the fact that I must work and cannot monitor her actions 24/7. HOWEVER, GM Jason Williams of Crown Kia chose to take her for many thousands of dollars when a couple of thousand extra would have satisfied most any other dealer in East Texas.

Jason, there's a term for predatory weasels like yourself. It's: PREDATORY WEASEL.
