West Didnt Know I had a collection

I recently got a credit report..I saw that there was a collection area that had West Asset Management..I didnt know I had anything from the..no letters no calls..and the claim was from July of 2009. I called them and paid it..and all they could say was Sorry for not Notifying ME>>kinda mad me mad..I asked if they could remove it from my credit report(since there was no notification)..they said it will show as paid in 30 days..So now my credit is lower because of this company.

West collection procedures

Even though I have made monthly payments on a medical debt assinged to West Asset Management, they refuse to stop the collection calls unless I provide them with my bank account number, and routing number for automatic withdraws from my account. I refuse to provide my account information to any collection agency for obvious fraud issues. Even though West Asset Management has acknowleged receipt of payments on this accont every month, they continue to call until I provide them with banking information. If payments are being made on the account every month the phone calls should stop. These thieves will not get my bank account information, but i will continiue to pay the debt I owe. This type of collection tactic is unethical. Who in their right mind would ever provide bank account informaiton to a collection agency?

DO NOT SEND A PERSONAL CHECK AS A PAYMENT. THEY CAN GET YOUR ACCOUNT AND ROUTING NUMBER FROM THE CHECK! ALWAYS USE MONEY ORDERS!

Actually that is WRONG! I dont know about other collection agencies but with West Asset Management we are not allowed to put payments thru without authorization! It is FEDERAL LAW. The only reason theyd want your bank account info is so that way they have guaranteed payment, as long as you authorize us to take it out of your account every month for the next 6 months or whatever we will do so. If not they cannot take out of your account as they want. Nice try tho :)

West Over Zealous Attempt to Collect Charges that I do not owe`

I received an automated telephone call from West Asset Management and subsequently got a rude lady with a southern Texas accent and I explained I had no idea what she was talking about. She identified my address and told me I owed a small amount and that my credit was going to be affected. When I again told her I did not owe the bill and asked her to send me a copy, she talked over me continually and told me to write a letter. I told her I was not writing a letter for something I knew nothing about and again asked her to send me a detailed invoice for the amount I owed. She just got louder and talked over me. I told her if "she would shut" and listen she would understand I don't owe anything until I see a bill. She yelled, "don't you tell me to shut up". I hung up. I will not be treated like a criminal. This lady, with a Texas accent, was rude and threatening. Just because someone says you owe money does not automatically mean I owe money. Maybe she owes me money. Maybe I should file something with the credit bureau and threaten her credit. This is crap!

I have also had the same experience with West Asset Management. They told me they were not going to send me a monthly statement. I told them I would not pay anything further on the account until they did. I ultimately had to speak to a supervisor. She was also rude so I asked to speak to her supervisor. She hung up on me, but ultimately I ended up with a supervisor's name and number. Her name is Rebecca Russell and her phone number is [protected]. She was very helpful and told me I did have the right to request a monthly statement. So every month I request a statement. When they call on the phone I don't answer or I answer and just hang up without saying anything. After several calls they give up. Now when I call they immiedately transfer me to one of the "team leaders". That's another thing. You have to make sure you are actually talking to supervisor. They way to tell for sure is to ask them their job title. Then you find out whether they are a supervisor or not. Nine times out of ten you are talking to team leader. The real problem is the laws that allow hospitals to sell your debt and release info about you. That should be illegal.

We must have had the same vile, rude woman from Texas --I also had an incoming call from this company telling me I owed a bill for my son and they told me I had to pay it or it was going onto my credit report. They also told me I had recieved an EOB-from my insurance company and they proceeded to tell me they will collect the bill. I have never got anything regarding the matter. I told them I never got an EOB because insurance was run through X's as subscriber--so I never got any correspondence regarding the matter. I also told them I have "Court Orders" that proof's this truth. They then proceeded to tell me they do not care about a Court Order I have. I after 45 minutes of being subjected to over bearing, degrading responses asked them if they were aware of FEDERAL LAWS regarding PROPER NOTICE to me. I continiously asked them how can you tell me I owe it-and what I have recv'd when I had never even had PROPER NOTICE from them. She was so RUDE and DEGRADING--even telling me why my child was seen at an ER and what insurance was PAID! Privacy? WHO IS SHE? Than also told me to write a letter to there company for the info or she was reporting as derogatory on my Credit Report. Everytime I tried to speak --she would raise her voice over me--so I had to tolerate because I was afraid she would illegally report this bill---causing more of a mess. I fianlly said--"Look, I just answered my phone this afternoon--I request sense you are a third party collector and this amount is disputed and you know nothing of our family''s insurance and certainly shouldn't have any knowledge of my minor child health issue I request you either send to the correct address provided at the hospiptal or send it back to the hospital so they can proceed to correctly and legal handle this account. I told her you are not interested in "court orders" regarding medical coverage and payments or proper notification to me and apparently you are only interest in continous threat of placeing on my credit report--I told her I think the fact I have been on the phone over an hour with you proofs I am extremely interested in finding out exactly what is going on--She then just started asking me if I were on my home# or Cell#--I said I am not answering anything else because of your unnactable tone and your lack of "Proper Notification" and your degrading approach to even the validation of a supposedly remaining amount due for my child. She sasid she has it at her company and that was enough and I better pay or it is going on to my Credit Report. I said -well, than I better request your legal departments contact info because I will be calling the Attorney General's office filling a complain and the Federal Tele -Cummications and the Consumer Affairs on you because I do have a right to "Discovery and Validation of any bill" ----She said she was in Texas and I this bill was originated in Florida --and I didn't know what I was talking about and better just pay her because once it is on my Credit Report iot is too late. As this time my blood is absolutely boiling---I asked her what is is her Company's or Corporation Federal ID--Informing her if she is calling me ----representing herself with a company she should have it ----She said ---"You DO NOT NEED THAT YOU NEED TO PAY" she than proceeded to tell me how I have waisted over an HOUR of HER TIME! It was on my cell--so I have proof of this incoming call and she really has BROKEN FEDERAL COLLECTION LAWS! I am appalled that there are even people whom can be so VILE, RUDE and DEGRADING and she actually thought I would deal with a complete stranger over the phone --without any verification of a bill! If she puts an invalid debt on my CREDIT REPORT --on top of everyhting else she said and demanded from me--they will only have to remove it later and her company WEST MANAGEMENT can be FINED Big Dollars and hopefully this cruel woman will get FIRED! If West ASSET Management employees some-one like her than they are obviously bottom feeders and not a professional company. If anyone has had any experiences like this--please take the time to post so investigators can read about what is happening --the more people speak-up about company' reps. making contact like this than the sooner they can be forced to recognize Federal and STATE laws that clearly are established to PREVENT what I just experienced. They are trying to collect bills illegally----Please post your experience if you have also been harassed by the call center out of Texas or West Managemnt Group. I already have started the process in calling the Attorney Generals Office. ---They must prey upon us thinking we won't take the time to stand up for what is legal! Remember I had never even heard of the outstanding bill until I answered my phone---After all that --and when-- I finally asked for there Federal ID--and remember she told me I didn't need it ---I repeatedly asked for it ---SHE HUNG UP ON ME! Imagine that? So-was she for real or a scam or is there really a bill out there--She hung-up on me when I asked her for proper identification! The law says they have to identify who they are and suggest everyone remember to ask for a companys Federal TAX --ID number! I still have no info regarding the bill!

West BEING HARRASSED FOR DEBT THAT'S NOT MINE

For about a year now they have called sent bills for a debt that I never had. I've asked them to just show me something that shows it is a legit debt of mine and I will pay it. They say because it's in collection they have no way of giving me anything to show me it's mine.

To jaimiej02010...What makes you so sure the debt in question is legit? I recently had 3 - count them 1, 2, 3! - different companies trying to collect on the same debt...one that had been settled over two years ago. I called, I wrote, I recorded...I did everything Texas law allows me to do, and still got calls from these people. I was only successful by giving them an attorney's phone number and telling them (during a recorded call) that any further contact was to be through the attorney. Sure, it cost a few bucks to have a lawyer friend talk with them, but there have been no more calls. And, by the way, jaimiej02010, have you recently acquainted yourself with the concepts of slander and libel? You might want to do so if you intend to call names and trash the public image of people you don't know. Here in Texas we kinda lean toward being friendly unless there is a real good reason not to. Just as a suggesstion, jaimie02010, you could lay off ragging on other people all together and take care of your own (apparently small) life. Best to you. I hope you mature soon.

you people just need to pay your bills and quit complaining seriously! The top part above where maggie said they have 30 days to send you verification of the debt is correct. And they do. If you ran up a bill or didn't pay back something you SIGNED THE CONTRACT stating that you would pay it back...then do so! Trying to get them in trouble by interuppting them while their trying to state the mini miranda or varify you correctly is amusing to me...if you record that and the judge can clearly see you're doing it intentionally their going to dismiss it. Just pay your bills and quit being a burdon to society! LOW LIFE!

Good comments by maggie. if you can record the next call, start in a very polite manner, try to get them to break fair debt, interrupt them so they cant state the mini-miranda statement as required on every communication. get them not verifying you correctly, anything, before dropping the bomb on them .

then they are busted!

West Employer

If one wants to work for a company that thrives on "double speak"--this company is for you!

This company hires so many applicants and then "cleans house" to make room for the new applicants only to be hurting their call time. Rules are constantly changing or made up as they go along. No one can seem to agree what the proper protocols are when dealing with customer complaints in terms of what the solutions are. When one complains about missing hours on one's paycheck--they are given the "run around" as well as "lip-service" on why they have not receive their pay. Always double check what you are getting paid an hour as the company is known to "switch-n-bait" what your pay rate is.

They claim they care when in actuality, they care about their own bottom line. They claim they want to see employees succeed when in fact they can't even provide employees the proper tools to succeed in the telemarketing business.

When one sees their hiring event--walk...no run the other direction! This company is not worth it unless you like "double speak" and "mind games".

I worked there in spokane for two years and saw people promoted who "knew" other people> it is a popularity contest at best. Everything everyone has said is true. The discipline structure is only positive in the way that I am afraid to not be on the clock and am an excellent employee now but also live in fear, even a year after I left.

I am working for a West Call centre in Jamaica and it is the worst call centre ever. We are treated so badly, I wish our government would do something about it, west takes our day offs and schedule us to work and threaten to fire iust and pin us if dont show up.We are paid $185 Jamaican dollars per hour.Which is below all the call centre in jamaica pay grade, west requiresus to log out and pc punch out when we go bathroom, break, eat lunch or anything. So we dont get pay for that time. Whats worst is that sometimes we are forced to eat lunch and talk to cutsomers on the phone. I work for the avis and budget customers and they demand that we make all calls at least 3 mins and that involves making car reservations, extending rentals and cancelling rentals and connecting callers to the correct department and we should also do soft sales on those calls...
WHATS WORST IS THAT THEY HAVE AN INCENTIV SCALE HOWEVER THE BAR IS SOOOOOOO HIGH...TO GET THE EXTRA CASH YOU HAVE TO HAVE AHT ( AVERAGE TALK TIME- THAT SHOULD BE BELOW 180 SECONDS) THEN YOU NEED TO HAVE A HIGH RESERVATION CONVERSION RATE ( MAKE A LOT A RESERVATION ON MOST A YOUR CALLS) THEN YOU NEED A QUALITY OVER 90% WHEN THE MONTH ENDS AND YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABSENT OR ELSE YOU WONT GET THE INCENTIVE. I TAUGHT WEST JAMAICA WAS THE ONLY LOCATION THAT HANDLES THEIR EMPLOYEES THAT HORRIBLE, APARRENTLY NOT.WEST IS PURE EVIL. XEROX, ACCENT MARKETING, SUTHERLAND GLOBAL SERVICES DOESNT TREA THIER CALL CENTRE REPS LIKE THIS . AND THERE IS A LOT MORE THAT I CANT EVEN SAY. LIKE HOW THEY FLOOOOD YOUR LINES WITH HUNDREDS OF CALLS PER DAY AND WHEN YOUR TIRED AND NEED A BREAK THEY DOCUMENT U OR SAY YOU WERE MISSING, EVEN WHEN UR ON THE COMPOND... ITS REALLY BADDDD GUYS. CANT ANYONE IN THE U.S.A HELPS US...THEY DONT EVEN WANT TO APPROVE OUR VACATIONS.

I work for ATT as a tech agent and have to say that things are different now. Things got so bad that they fired the director of the site and the new one is changing things. They are giving us more information now and if you feel you are being treated wrong, you can go to the director for help and he will listen! Even the managers are better now and you see them on the floor more and talking to agents more. its still not perfect, but i like going to work now and have fun. they even do things just becasue like food days, or bbq's.

I worked at West in October to January 2012, as a att tech agent. I actually really liked the job I had. The managers and trainers for the most part did their jobs exceptionally well in training me and my fellow employees. So we werent thrown out without a paddle so to speak. Naturally Im an introvert, I like to keep work and my personal life separate. There were occasions in which certain individuals didnt hold the standard, and what upset me was the overall feeling of the workplace off and on was very much like high school. Not everyone, but certain people. I had people asking me to confirm rumors, about friends I knew. I had one s.m.e misguide me on one really important question on some rare issue I wasnt informed of what to do prior in the class. In my first week on the floor during training, he gave me a very dilerate slow bs response taking up my time. i asked some one else who actually care about his job. I told tht manager what I had been told, the previous guy was supposed to be reprimanded but, got promoted instead.. Overall very much like a popularity contest. For 3 consecutive weeks I was the top tech agent on the call floor, not in sales but in following the guidelines to resolve issues. My friend told me I was on the board, I was supposed to recieve a giftcard for every week. I repetively asked nicely, I asked at convient times at the end of shift, during break only when these people were not busy. I was shrugged off, not taken seriously. Understand that Im not venting, I could care less about prizes, but the simple fact that Im a little shy (and dont tolerate drama from people, I live in Spokane) Instead of being recognized for my hard work, I was overlooked for not being outspoken. There are many examples I could mention, I have an example of a friend who basically lost his temper (when a customer was screaming at him for calling him "sir", my friends from Lousiana, naturally has good manners. He was calling him "sir" nicely out of respect cause the guy refused to give his name.) and walked off the call floor for several hours came back and He still kept his job. I made a mistake when a manager kept briefly distracting me during a call, the customer was angry, yelling at his son. There was noting I could do to help him. I believed I had the phone on mute. I made a poor comment. The customer didnt even hear me, I told my supervisor immediately after shift. Because I had a good professional relationship with her. I was told not to worry about it. I was fired two days later by her boss for what I did, exited out of the building by two security guards like a criminal, not even allowed to go back to my desk to get my things. My point is, from my perspective, and everyone has different experiences. I think West, honestly is an awesome place to work. Id love to go back there and work. There is professionalism in the location that resides in my city. But I also think there is a big difference between work ethic, and personality. Some people talk a big game but just shouldnt be promoted period and its unfortunate. Because it makes the standards of the business seem lower than what they are. I had some absolutely amazing managers and trainers and I had some that just did not care besides their paycheck. Not just West, but any business should focus more on the character of potential managers before promoting them. We're human so the system isnt perfect. Thank you

i worked for west for over a year, when i started i worked for the sears card activation and the home depot, as of october a year into this job, i watched home depot dissapear in an hour of starting a shift, and then us sears people being sent home early everyday due to lack of call flow, long story short i received a call from west asking me if i wanted to switch over to a seasonal job that they where trying to make permanit, and that i would get a 50 cent raise, but also at the end of the program if it didnt stay we would be put back onto sears, anyhow this new toys r us job was great but we only got a week of training on a job we should of been trained on for at the least three weeks due to multiple programs we had to use, and they even told us we where the ginny pigs, and boy was we lol, after a week of training we where threw on the call floor, and it was tough, we constantly had our hands raised for things we didnt know how to do, and some team leads where very helpful, but alot of them where not so nice, mind u they took some of the team leads off the call floor to be team leads because they new the program better and they where the ones who where nasty anytime they had to get up off their butts...ok so the story is a lil longer, after being in the program for a couple weeks taking calls that where to do with rewards and orders and registries, we then received a letter on our desk stating that we are now customer management and we would be handling complaints, returns and all sorts of things we where not trained for, so yea another good time with ur hand in the air wondering what to do while ur guest is on hold, and they yell at u for ur hold time, but our goal was to not have to transfer, yet we had no idea what to do lol...after about three months on toys r us, we received another letter telling us that our job was done on january 18 2013, we had three options, we could apply for att, go on a 30 administrated leave and if they found a spot in that 30 days we would be contacted if not we would have to reapple if theirs an opening and start all over, and then their was the option to just quit, well i wasnt quitting cause then id lose unemployment duh, however i applied for att, i didnt qualify because i didnt own a smart touch screen phone, was really sad...the 18th came we was all done, come to find out by another employee who had been their for awhile, west actually kept them and their was about 7 outta prolly 150 people who got to stay, plus the 6 people who refused to transfer but had only been their a few months, lets just say we all got screwed and now their advertising that they are hiring for the position all of us employees should have been called and put back into, this is a very sad company to work for, they fire good workers so they dont have to pay them when their year marks come up, they fire u for doing a great job, just so they can hire new people and pay less...

This company is privately owned by the "West" family. They don't give a rat's ### about employees. Somehow they've got major corporations like AT&T hiring them.
They are ###, pure ###. Couldn't care less about their employees, rules change day to day, QA is alwas spying on you. You could take 100 perfect calls a day and they ding you for the one that had a slight error.
When they do fire you, which will happen, they always make it look like it's your fault so no chance at any unemployment benefits.
They have a revolving door regarding hiring, in with the new people who don't know any better and out with the old (before they might actually have to provide benefits to you).
Stay far, far away from them.

I worked for West in Omaha. Must be some sort of tax write-off scam they have going with the gov or some hiring incentive money they receive so they hire and fire regularly. I am 64 yrs old so they must have seen me as money in the bank as I was hired with no experience and my friend who is 40 and had 4 yrs experience in customer service wasn't hired. Training was nonexistant as we smoked cigarettes with the trainer most of the time for 6 weeks -- half the class got bored and quit. I made it to the floor only find that they were still using versions of XP server that was so slow it would take 10 minutes to boot up and full of glitches itself! Then they had versions of SAP software that was at least 15 years old and always crashing. It must be theonly software made by Germans that really sucks to use -- not user friendly at all! Then it would crash just as you were going to make a sale or change someones number as we were working for ATT contract! ATT is really getting ripped off by West Corp as I bet they are fast losing their huge customer base due to the poor value that West Corp is giving them!

I was hired by West and put through a week-and-a-half training course. On the first day, they told us that 100% attendance was mandatory to complete the class. I called in sick the last two days of class, but still got a certificate of completion. The next step was to get a score of 80% or better on three calls, which qualified you and make you a full employee.
When I was on the floor answering calls, I did dismally. My classmates seemed to be doing OK, and I assume they made the 80% certification. I, however, was having problems--leaving out parts of the script, giving incorrect information, and inadequately noting the file at the end of the call.
I can't remember if it was three or four days, but they took me off of active calls and coached me in how the system worked, how to take calls, how to find information, and how to properly note the file. At no time during this coaching did anybody criticize the work I was doing. Instead, they constantly asked me what I thought my biggest problems were and helped me work on those problems. At all times, they were gentle, supportive, and helpful. They even addressed my emotional state, helping me become less anxious about getting the calls right.
Despite the trainers' best efforts, the best I got on the certification was 78%, and I had no reason to dispute that score. They acted very serious and unhappy when they told me they had to terminate, but I responded rather cheerfully about how much I appreciated the help they gave me and how I regretted that they had to expend salary and payroll taxes on a guy who didn't work out.
I worked at West at the Holley Mason Building in Spokane, WA, doing short sell calls for Bank of America. If anybody is looking for a $10.00/hour job and is able to keep lots of thing in mind at once, I couldn't recommend a better opportunity.

Wherever to begin? First off make sure that when applying for West you realize that this will be a temporary job and not a career. West specializes in a practice that I like to refer to as revolving door employment. It has absolutely no intention of retaining any of its employees ever ( over the course of 6 years i bore witness to several thousands of exits, namely west is career suicide). The only logical reasoning I can make of this would be that the so called joke of a training is a tax write off ( how else could the company justify running multiple training classes at the same time, whilst not putting in any effort whatsoever to retain current employees when the so called training is allegedly not client funded). This way the company saves itself from having to pay raises or paid time off, so its pinching pennies. Sort of seems like an illegitimate business huh? Furthermore if you do happen to win the termination lottery, you will be given a certain new york address which when cross referenced belongs to wells fargo! I could go over the ins and outs of the complete insanity of the upper management and obvious harassment that happens on a daily basis, but why would i dare torment myself to repeat that nightmare? No business this shady is going to ever be run in a way which involves logic or order.

I have settled an account w/West Asset Management [protected] & [protected] for 50¢ on the $1 on April 2005 and now I am being sued by Palisades Acquisitions XVI llc for the other 50%. I'm ready to go to court w/my attorney to force this company to pay my attorney's court fees after I win the case. West Asset refused to listen to me when I called to verify that this case was closed but it will have to do it for Palisades. When I called headquarters at Marietta, the general manager failed to come to the phone and then the receptionists constantly put me on hold. I dare the current general manager neglect inquiries from Palisades who will need to gather the information from my account

When a debt is "settled, " no one else can collect the remainder. As long as you have something that says "Settled in Full" and a letter from the collector backing that up, you should be OK. Or if you paid by check and wrote on it, "Settled in Full, " that would work as well.

Tell Palisades you've settled, and if you have proof in writing, send them a copy. Tell them not to contact you anymore, and by law they will have to stop under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

West Employee abuse

Someone really should do an intense investigation of this company. I have never seen a company that does everything within it's power to make life as miserable as they can for their employees. I know that no company or organization is perfect but West corporation is down right demoralizing. They play mind games with their employees when they have overextended themselves with too many applicants; and lets face it right now with the economy being in the sad state its in, they are bombarded with unsuspecting applicants on a daily basis. This company is a 3rd party call center for various commercial organizations like at&t, Comcast, Direct TV and other companies that choose to outsource some of their customer service. It would be an ideal job if they company wasn't run like a prison. The management is extremely unprofessional and they pick and choose who is going to be treated fairly. They constantly make up rules as they go along, and this isn't just done to the employees its also done to the customers as well. I have heard some appauling things in my day but when you are told to make something up if a customer asked too hard of a question like " why can't I get a refund" something is very wrong with this approach to "customer service". On top of that there is more unethical pratices than this box could even hold. I would suggest someone from the federal government to come in under cover and observe for themselves the sweatshop like environment they have people working in. They are squeezed together like sardines in a stinking can. They cannot even have their own headsets, they are forced to put on a headset that someone else just had on talked into with salivia flying into the mics and all. They do not even periodically shampoo the carpet in that place, it feels like a seispool inside the building, you always feel as though something is crawling on your skin when your inside there. I do not recommend anyone work there; shoveling manure would be an improvement outside of working for West corporation and consumers would definitely be better off if they did not exist.

Poor Treatment at Call Center
, US
Mar 15, 2016 9:29 am EDT

I worked for a company called Westmed Partners for about two weeks. That was all I could take. The first 8 days of training were all right but the next 2 days on the call center floor were hell. I had 2 phone reps that were supposed to be trainers sit with me. They were both very rude and critical. They found something wrong with everything I did when I took calls. I had been a customer service phone rep for over 25 years. The girls stated I spoke too slow, I sounded like I was reading a script, I moved too slow on the computer, my phone notes were too long and I said ok too much. They would loudly criticize me while I was trying to speak to the caller and listen to what he was saying. They went on to say maybe this work was not for me since I was not doing well. The following Monday I realized I could not stay there due to the poor treatment I received. I turned in my badge and advised the Human Resourced representative I was leaving. She had the Director of Human Resources call me. The Director asked me what happened on the call center floor. I explained how I was treated by the trainers and that was why I left. She was going to investigate this and possibly find me a job in another department. She never called me back. I called her twice and she never returned my calls. I am now unemployed due to extreme rude treatment which I would call harassment. No one should be treated like that.!

I am sorry that you worked in a call center like that. I suppose that the health department needs to get in the call center regulation business, let alone the building codes and fire department. If you wanted to, you could provide an anonymous tip of the atrocious conditions. Personally, I would not work in a call center for less than $25 an hour.
In life, a lot of what you get out is based on what you choose to focus on. You could spend $5, 000 and get a couple of certifications in about 3 months that would put you in the earnings ball park and I assure that you will get treated a lot better.

Think about it.

I agree, however there are more companies like this... and i had a bitter experience working at care call center pvt ltd. Same thing happened with us also, the policy used to change every week, and it always do the negative for employees. They have a special policy where you are not allowed to take any paid leaves in entire year, instead of this they will give you 1 months salary if you completes your 1 year, and than you see the real face of the blood suckers. The HR will make a policy that the payment for the paid leave salary will be made after another 6 moths which they call as a cycle of payments, [censor]... Also it claims that it is an international call center, such a joke... the poor infrastructure, stealing employees wealth and salary, abusing employees with bad HR policies, harassing employees, making policies against the employees favor, salary transfer on 11th or after 11th of every month... we have suffered so much that the words are less to explain the vcare call center policy towards employees and benefits. The best analogy I can think of is a slaughterhouse.

They bring you in and fatten you up at $11.50/hr. for a few months and then kill you with ridiculous "Quality Assurance" requirements so they can bring in more 90 day - $9.00/hr "trainees". I can only assume it is part of their business plan. Sad and unfair to customers.

I'm writing an article about their practices. Please feel free to e-mail your experiences to: getwested@gmail.com.

Tell anyone else you know to send me their experiences also. Good luck and consider yourself fortunate to be out of there.

West Terrible company

This company is going down and do not want to admit it so they are firing all of their seasoned collectors. They are trash and you should not work for them. This company has a very hostile environment, they train with lies, they intimidate the employees, threaten them to fire them if they don't do what they want you to do and before they fire you they tell you not to worry about filing unemployment because Larry TY(the director of collections) is going to fight it and win.

The following is merely an opinion, and as such is not intended to indemnify or otherwise evaluate the named company on any basis:

It is true what you are saying about firing all of the seasoned collectors. At my location, I figured it out after about 3 mos. of employment. They used the unspoken threat to intimidate me into a cutthroat battle for promotion. I refused to dig up material against the other employee. When other employees were found evaluating the accounts of their coworkers they were fired for improper disclosure. But, one-by-one the people who had worked there for over 6 mos. were being shown the door.

I am not surprised at this unethical practice, because it serves the company to protect their unlawful policies and training. Once the employee has served their purpose as a scapegoat, they fire them to cover their own wrongdoings.

Consistent with your claim about unemployment, my case was found in favor of the employee due to a body of lies which is the primary objective of their human resources department. Why should they worry about recruiting long-term employees when their objective is to frame the company's individual complaints upon them.

This scapegoating practice not only serves to take the heat off them from unlawful collection practices, but helps them avoid responsibility to their client companies when such companies are dissatisfied with any given customer interaction.

West dishonest employee layoffs

My husband who worked for West Asset Man. was laid off because of trying to help a disabled individual who was being wrongly set up to be fired on the basis of his work ability, so the paper work said, but the mouths in secret meetings said otherwise. My husband sat in on some of these mettings, and when he said he would not be party to that kind of lay off just because these people did not know how to deal with this individuals disability, he was fired. Now they are trying to set him up, doctoring paperwork to make it look like he embezzeled money from their company. They want him to sign a paper saying if he admits to taking the money and doesn't testify on behalf the this disabled person, and pays them half of what they are saying he took from them, they won't have him arrested. This company needs to be out of business completly.

West Asset Management treats their employees as badly as the do debtor. I have been being harrassed by the management team at West Asset Mangement in Warsaw, NY. I have been singled out for monitoring. I was on the PPA team and I was the only one that they would check productivity on, phone calls made, money collected, talk time, and over all my daily work. They had tried many times to fire me but had no grounds to do so. The harrassment was evident to many of the other employees at the company. One women sd I need to get the target off my back. Others asked what I did to make them mad. I was asked why are they on a withch hunt for me. My answer was because I stood up for myself. Didn't let them bully me and each time they did I was prove them wrong. They had watch dogs in the office and would run to HR if they thought I was doing something wrong. Finally I did mess up and the watch dogs ran to HR and got m fired. I am not going to stand still for it. I am going through leagel channels to get this stopped.

West They keep calling even though I tell them i am not the person they are asking for

This is a collection agency and they keep calling me even though I have told them that I am not the person they are looking for. I have told them now 4 times and I am going to turn them into the BBB. I have told them to take me off the list and they still continue to call me. I am going to report them for calling my number when I told them I am not this person.

West Shoddy business

This collection agency keeps making harassing phone calls to my home phone. They are trying to get a hold of my FORMER roommate. This company has contacted me on MULTIPLE dates, and they won't stop calling. When my children and I tell them to stop calling because he no longer lives with us, they just persist. They call my house almost every day at different times. One caller told me he just wanted to verify some information on Mr. *****, and when I told him I didn't have any information for him, he then asked me if I was his ex-girlfriend or ex-wife!

This debt has absolutely nothing to do with me, but I may have to change my phone number because these idiots won't stop harassing me!

West Scam and cheating!

WAM, sent me the following letter as initial communication. The debt was 'sold' by the hospital. WAM has all 'rights' to the debt. The settlement offer overshadows the validation process as well as circumventing or by-passing medical privacy rights. FDCPA violation § 809 Validation of debts. The letter is clear that they are acting as a 'mediator' between myself and the hospital. False and misleading, I don't have any outstanding claims with any hospital. It was written off as a bad debt and WAM owns it and has no color of authority to release me from any claims hypothetical or otherwise in the first place. Violation of FDCPA § 807 False or misleading representations; also violates Florida Consumer Collection Practices act (FCCPA) ss 559.72 as well as the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade and Practices Act (FDUTPA) ss 501.201

Lastly, it addresses my spouse. Normally this is allowable under HIPPA but not by Florida State law. This is a clear violation of F.S 456.057(12) in part; The third party to whom information is disclosed is prohibited from further disclosing any information in the medical record without the expressed written consent of the patient or the patient's legal representative. The operative words being 'any' and 'expressed written' a very very long arm statute that trumps anything WAM tries to use as safe harbor. See HIPPAs CFR 45 § 160.202 definition of 'more stringent'. Also, see Pogue v. Diabetes Treatment Centers of America Civil # 99-3298.

Don't let this company deceive you as it relates to medical collection or the hospital.

I have already sent my ITS to Mr. Mussman the vice president of West Corp. in Nebraska (their parent org) Anyone here from WAM have a name to send my summons to in Marietta, GA? C'mon don't be shy, evasive and reluctant like you are on the phone over 10 times.

It's not really a complaint but a query. I received a check from these people, but have no knowledge of the company. So I checked online and found the word scam over and over again. According to the date posted I did send a 50 dollar check for a medical bill I owe. So my question to you is it o.k. to cash the check or is it some kind of scam to automatically debit my account. I have been caught before like this so I'm quite apprehensive about cashing unknown checks. Thank for any help you can give me.

check spelling - good idea ...they said (not sold) NO, and told me to sell my home and live where? The street? If you don't agree to their amount, they will say fine, then you refuse to pay. NO, that's not what I was saying. And the people they were collecting for say on their website regarding payment plans - "reasonable and affordable to you" - meaning me!

You have some poorly paid person down South just trying to keep their job and earn an income anyway possible, I get that. But tactics like this are just plain wrong.

West Asset Management uses terror tactics to collect debts and refuse to work with you on a payment plan. You either the amount they decide on, or they go straight for garnishment. I offered a little bit smaller amount and they sold no, and told me to sell my house.

I am a member of Experian's Triple Alert(SM) Credit Monitoring service and have just received a "Potentially Negative Information" alert from them on July 29, 2010 posted to my Experian Credit report. That was six days ago and that new info listed West Asset Management as the business name who filed a $307 collections notice against me. I never heard of this business so I Googled them and was able to submit my complaint to them directly online that same day. Today is Aug. 4, 2010 and I received another alert 'hit' from my credit monitoring service which shows a NEW account being posted, again, by WAM for $307 now on my Transunion credit report! I've contacted Experian's Fraud Resolution group and was given a case number to refer to when a member of their team contacts me. As of today, WAM has still not contacted me regarding my original direct complaint to them before they posted this second disturbing notice which I know nothing about.

WAM hounded my wife for 3 months about an emergency room visit that occurred 3 years ago. They said we owed $450.00 and would not tell us why, just that the medical center asked them to collect the money. So I contacted the hospital and inquired about the debt. The hospital showed a zero balance. The hospital accountant audited the records and found that no debt was ever recorded for my wife.

The hospital had no record of ever calling WAM. Also, the WAM agents would never give the name of an idividual or a certain department. The hospital accountant finally called WAM and informed them that we were debt free. I called WAM the next day and was informed that our account had been closed and marked as paid in full.

I kept telling them that we never received a bill for that amount and that there was a mistake. But of course, they never checked it out. They were going to make me pay the full amount. And seeing that the hospital wasn't trying to collect it, and there is no record of a hospital employee contacting them..., who do you think the money was going to go to? Beware of this company.

Recently I've got a call from West Asset Management company. The caller was asking me about my debts and other related things; but was silent about himself. I was bit confused because without knowing a person I can't give my personal credit information to anybody. Then I disconnected the phone and searched about the number on web. West Poor service!

On September 19, 2006, I applied for my Oklahoma Concealed Weapons License (CWL), after considerable time and expense going through the required training, classroom instruction, and extensive practice. The CWL was issued December 15, 2006. What the issuing of the CWL means to the public is that I went through a background check through the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, The Oklahoma State Department of Mental Health, Tulsa County Sheriff's Department, F.B.I. and who knows, maybe Homeland Security.

Having spent endless hours reading and researching the Federal and State Laws, including the Oklahoma Firearms Act, the Oklahoma Self Defense Act, and the United States Code concerning the carrying and transport of a firearm, I felt that I knew far more than the average CWL holder and complied with those laws.

While at work on May 02, 2007, I was terminated from West Corporation here in Tulsa. The reason: Violating West’s policy of having a firearm on their premises (in the trunk of my car, locked up), which I freely admitted, because according to the above-mentioned laws on the books, I was completely legal in having the firearm in my car trunk and even produced my CWL to West personnel. I had planned to go to Tulsa Firearms Academy to practice that evening with friends.

West has a policy of hiring anyone, no drug or background checks.

I was in complete compliance with all known State and Federal laws, having a firearm in my vehicle. Yet, West Corporation terminated me.
