Top Spot Marketing Charged credit card for nothing

Said they were working for Google arranging advertising. Very pushy and kept repeating they were working on behalf of Google. Took credit card details and said advertising would be organised and someone from Google would telephone me later that day or the next morning to arrange the advert. By Friday afternoon nothing had happened I spoke to Google myself. By Monday they had charged my card on the Thursday for more than it was supposed to have cost although they said I could cancel after 30 days if I wanted to they had charged for 60 days before doing anything at all. Now trying to get money back and being threatened in phone calls from Top Spot Marketing that they will get a CCJ. Where are trading standards in all of this & why doesn't Google stop them saying that they are them?

Google, Yell.com or Trading Standards really need to do something about them or they will keep on going which is obviously what they already do. Funny thing is that even in the middle of a row with them about the unauthorised taking of a payment they still telephoned us three times trying to say they were Yell.com & Google until I pointed out who they really were and stated we are in the middle of a legal battle with them!

I just hope they are shut down quickly as they are causing people who are not in a position to fight back serious problems as noted in other comments made by other people.

I can only assume you work for this company.
They charge for something not provided at all (fraud) this is being checked into by the Police.
They do tell everyone they are from Google (see other complaints about this company).
Try contacting them when they have taken money and do not provide anything and see how reputable they are - see other comments regarding them.
Google know about this company but do not seem to do anything about them. As you say maybe they are happy to let them carry on at which point I would wonder about Google's ethics in all of this.
When someone takes more money they they should, provide no service and are not authorised to take any money at all I do not think they are reputable,
They bluntly tell you they will not refund the money and will not provide a service either.
Since our Directors are Solicitors & Barristers the court part will at least shut them down thankfully

Yes, and they have a fancy web site which makes them look oh so plausible.
Little do viewers realise it is a scam.

I agree cardiff13. The fact is, top spot marketing's scam is to take your money, give you nothing in return, then, when you ask for your money back, take more! Nice business if you can get it!
It is obvious 'thescaminvestigator' is or works for top spot marketing scam judging by their poor use of grammar and spelling.
The more we highlight this, the higher this scam we go up the Google page!

If it were a scam they WOULD have been shut down by google by now sinse according to the business registers they have been trading sinse 2008, GET A GRIP, yes there are lots of scammers out there but you cant just go around calling companies scam artists. Trust me if they were a scam company posing as a reputable company they would not be trading, google would have shut them down quicker then you could say scam. Looking at the site http://www.topspotmarketing.co.uk they are just an advertising company providing google first page adverts and facebook adverts. Yes you could do it your self but do you know anything about google, if not you could end up spending a fortune on a useless campaign. Checked with google and they are indeed a google accredited company so face it your WRONG. This company would never tell you their from google, this would completely risk their google adwords account which is the only source of income for them. FACE IT, you gave them your money to advertise, it didnt work, now your angry. If you advertised in a local newspaper and paid for the advert and didnt get any response from the advert at all, would you plaster the internet and call them a scam because they didnt give you your money back for somthing you agreed to, i doubt it, im suprised they havent found out who you all are and sued you all for slander yet. As for the CCJ, tough - you should have bit your tongue and paid your bill for the advertising they probably provided you with.

Top Spot Marketing promised me and my computer repair company a "GUARANTEED" number 1 listing on Google. I was promised 5 "LUCRATIVE" key searches on a 30 day contract, at a cost of around £100+VAT. After 20 or so days...no phone calls...no jobs, I contacted TOP SPOT MARKETING to see what phrases I had been allocated, one of my phrases was " computer repair...

Top Spot Marketing SCAM

Top spot marketing contacted me offering guaranteed first page listings on my 5 best key phrases.
The total cost for my 30 days marketing was around £100, the rep on the phone was a liverpudlian and very difficult to understand.
Pushy aint in it!
I recieved no calls let alone jobs, when I asked what major phrases I had been assigned, one was..."computer repairs in greater manchester"... I wonder why that didn't work!
I cancelled after 25 of my 30 days, top spot marketing took a further 3 payments from my card!
Stay well clear... Scam scam scam!

I agree, these jokers take advantage of people with no search engine knowledge.
They take unauthorised payments, sometimes running into £1000's.
Find a reputable company...NOT TOP SPOT MARKETING !

They contacted me about advertising at a local gym (banner/towels). They took my money and I approved an ad. I checked with the gym and no such advertising took place. That was 6 months ago. I contacted them, no response. $325.00 scammed from me.
