Called me several months ago, promised me a $500.00 gift card good anywhere INCLUDING Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Target and others. Now it's nearly three(3) months later and no magazines yet they've taken my money. They sent me some card to some GARBAGE SCOW site where you have to pay shipping to get the "FREE" merchandise. Well this "FREE" merchandise are all items I wouldn't waist the gas to take to the Salvation Army as they would only throw them away! A little digging turns up items almost identical to each for almost the EXACT price of shipping & handling...Geee -- Go Figure That...
I have launched a formal criminal complaint of Fraud against them with my bank who are acting as my surrogate to the Better Business Bureau, Washington State Attorneys General and the FTC...I STRONGLY suggest all others proceed in a manner pursuant as is allowed by your states laws and be as aggressive as possible toward these people so we can shut them down PERMANENTLY -- NOT just force them into another State or Business name!

Midwest Home Office Crystal was charging my debit card for past 5 months resulting in a total of $300 loss. I completely overlooked the charges because I wasn’t able to check statements at that moment. Nevertheless I’ve got their contacts in bank but so far I wasn’t able to get in contact.

this posting is legally slanderous as the report has nothing to do with midwest publishers and is hurtful and could result in a deformation law suit as it is damaging personally and is not applicable to the companies business policies. and investigation to "theTruthHurts22" has begun and an external investigation through our attorney. we have requested the posting to be removed from the original poster and have received no response.
all further inquiries should be directed to www.midwestpublishershomeoffice.com

These people are a fraud. They said they would be sending magazines and also a $500.00 gift card for ordering the magazines. The gift card is a joke. They lied and you never get the magazines and they take your money. I had to close my account to get them to stop taking the $14.95 out of it.

You've been hit by the Sharma-Hanssen family that runs at least three companies that uses the same methods by offering a 500-1000$ shopping spree if you buy their magazines that you don't receive (just google them):
Midwest Home Office
Great American Readers, LLC
Midwest Publishers, INC
---
Monica (Sharma-)Hanssen, age 44, Owner at National Value club Inc, Owner /President at MWPublishers Inc
Peter Hanssen, Manager at Great American Readers, LLC
Tim(othy) Hanssen, VP of Operations, Midwest Publishers, INC. Sale Promotions, National Value Club

Alternate business names for Great American Readers (according to bbb.org):
Blue Whale Publications (Previous Company Name), Midwest Publishers Home Office Inc

Alternate business names for Midwest Home Office (according to bbb.org):
Midwest Publishers Home Office

Should be enough information to take some sort of legal action against them.

I worked for them in 1998. I was 15 years old. My first job. They operated out of an office space on Lake Street in Uptown, Minneapolis. I went into the hospital in January of 1999, when I came home and went to report to shift, I was given a check by Monica and told they were taking a break. I found out from a coworker that Tim had been arrested for fraudulent activity and that's why we were out of jobs. I was crushed. I felt like I had helped steal from people because I called and talked convincingly enough to these people that they gave their credit card information to these people. It was sickening. When I heard about a magazine scam it reminded me of them and when I saw Tim and Monica's names, I knew it was them and my heart sank. I guess some people just don't learn.
