Acquisition International Influential Businesswoman Awards Scam
Acquisition International emailed me weeks ago to ask if I wanted to participate in their Influential Businesswoman Awards, where a panel of judges would review my work and merits, blah blah blah. It seemed sketchy, as it's a UK company, and I'm in the US, but unfortunately I did reply. I submitted no additional documentation they requested. I'm new to the area, and it seemed unlikely I would "win" as hardly anyone here knows me yet. I received a reply today that claims I have won the contest for most influential businesswoman in my area. Unlikely. And as the next steps request money from me for various award and PR "packages", this screams scam now louder than ever. Should have known from the beginning. Frustrating that if you Google this company, there are several websites about it and it appears legit, until you really start digging. Then I found this complaint page, and was fueled to share my story to hopefully prevent others from falling for this scam.
Desired outcome: Throw them in jail...or post my complaint to help other steer clear of their scam.
Hope you are well, I can understand some of your hesitations, though we are not a scam and we are a legitimate business with a large number of clients who continue to work with us.
All our awards are based off merit for the previous 12 months the business has operated, this ignores potential new locations and focuses purely on the business’ accomplishments. This we find allows us to award the most deserving of businesses who have excelled over that period.
As you also mentioned we do have an inhouse research team, they investigate each nomination received and award those we believe are most deserving. Each of our nominees have a case file created which includes the research from our team. This includes a variety of publicly available sources, supporting evidence and more. We do offer paid marketing packages to our winners, though these are all completely optional and we pride ourselves that our awards are completely free to enter and win. All our winners automatically receive the complementary packages which includes access to the award press release, and creation of a bespoke SEO optimised winners listing hosted on our website which the client can edit.

Paid for Package and no response after
I paid for the 625GBP package and no response to any of my emails after. I wrote many times about my logo that is inaccurate but no reply.
Before the payment was made, there were many emails regarding payment and also to upload my logo image. No response after payment made. I would appreciate a refund for the package. I am only a very small business and that was really hard earned money.
This complaint has been resolved automatically due to user's inactivity.
Unfortunately, without some further information I am struggling to find your booking and subsequent items.

illegitimate awards
They announced my award and offered me a 'free of charge' Winner's package. When I asked for it they didn't send it to me. I then enquired as to their advertising programs and was sent confusing lists of several option packages that I said I would consider once I had had a look at my winners package. To cut a long story short they are advertising mercenaries and Emma Keen was the head on this scheme that targeted me and then her assistant, Hannah Stevenson, was left to haplessly fend off my challenging questions. Bad form, no integrity and should be boycotted .
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.

This company is a fraud and no one should buy into their so-called awards. They exploit small businesses and have them pay money to be named under the award. Then give you a PDF mock-up with your logo on it that my 6th grader cold make through Canva!
