This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

We purchased carpeting for 4 bedrooms, a hall, and stairway at Menards and were told it would take 7-10 days to arrive. Three weeks later it finally came in. The rooms have been emptied of furniture and the old carpeting is gone. I have taken a day off from work. The installer starts to lay down the carpeting and discovers that each roll has been cut too short. He calls Menards and they say they will rush more carpeting. So guess what? Now we are sleeping on the floor, etc. We wait for the new carpeting and we wait and we wait. Meanwhile, Menards wants to know when we are going to bring back the wrong rolls! To make a long story short, we filled out a customer complaint form and finally heard from them a month later... we were told that we should have unrolled every roll and measured it ourselves to make sure that Menards had correctly cut the carpeting and yes, it was Menards that cut it and marked it but apparently, we were supposed to pay for the carpeting and check their work! Not even an apology from them. The Menards card (used for 9 years) has been cut up and Home Depot just gained a new customer!

I purchased a refrigerator from Menards on June 23 for $1000.00 exactly 3 months later it quit working. This was a brand new refrigerator which came with a warranty. I called the Menards store were I bought it and they told me they couldn't help me that I would have to deal with the manufacuter when I called them they said I would have to have a repairman come to my house order the parts and then I would have to call them back when the parts came to me. I asked the manager at maenards why he couldn't just replace my refrigerator and they deal with the manaufacture since they were their customer not me they became very rude told me in no certain terms that they were not going to help me and that if I couldn't get the manufacture to help me they didn't care. I explained that the manufacuture told me it could take 2 or 3 weeks before they could fix the refregerator and at least a week before they could send out a tech. I couldn't wait that long for a frig because I would loose so much food. The manager said I told you I don't care and hung up on me. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE they will not stand by their products and will not help you when orders are wrong. They only care about making the sale and then forget about you once it goes out the door. WORST Customer service I haave ever found.

what!? iron381 obviously doesn't work at menards, so quit saying you do. how could you cut open and measure each and every roll of special order carpet? there is not enough time or man power for things like that. besides, why wouldn't you order a few extra inches to make sure it fits. there are very few houses that are perfectly straight. there is a degree of error in the machines that cut carpet at the vendors anyway. i think most carpet depts. cut it long when you buy stock carpet, but they can't stock every color and pile. the only error is the salesman not suggesting you buy a little extra for error. the special order took longer than expected? they really try to get the orders there and get them out asap. menards want to move products as much as you want to get them to your house. you have to figure one day to get the order to the vendor, and up to three days to get the card in the mail. give menards your email and they will automatically update on your order's progression, then you can plan with your installer more effectively. as far as sleeping on the floor?...really? it takes like 10 minutes to set up a bed. appology? yeah probably. but, that is rarely what people really want. you should cut up that damn card the card companies are making money off of you. btw, if you think it won't happen at depot, you are in for a rude awakening.

i see your point. I currently work at the cambridge, mn menards and that was handled very incorrectly on the stores end. What whould have been done is they should have had the carpet brought to them and fixed the order ASAP by making phone calls to the company they purchase from. We don't cut the carpet on special orders. Any shipping fee should have been waived and the emloyees should take a little time to make sure the order was correct. We get paid by the hour so why not spend time getting return customers? That is just my oppinion.
