All States Home Improvement On October 28, 2022, I had a header and sliding glass door installed on the second floor of my house by All States Home Improvement

On October 28, 2022, I had a header and sliding glass door installed on the second floor of my house by All States Home Improvement. I had already paid for the installation. However, before the work began, I had a disagreement with the manager regarding the quoted price. The manager became very upset and even made a threat to break into my house through my dog door and steal the door.

During the installation, I noticed that there was a 2" gap all around the door, which the installers simply filled with foam. They also refused to obtain a permit for the work, claiming that it was my responsibility. Throughout the process, the installers harassed me and even mentioned putting a recording device in my wall. I felt so uncomfortable that I asked one of them to leave, but he refused and even dismissed the idea of involving the police, saying they wouldn't help me.

The lead installer also informed me that I couldn't file a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com (ComplaintsBoard.com) because they would gain access to my banking and student loan information. This made me feel even more uneasy and unsafe around them. I am now deeply concerned about the structural integrity of my house, fearing that it may collapse.

When I went to pay, I requested to speak directly to the owner, but the receptionist refused to arrange a meeting. I am adamant about only speaking to the owner directly, without involving any managers or employees.

All States Home Improvement I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, the delay in receiving the products, the lengthy completion time, and the poor

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, the delay in receiving the products, the lengthy completion time, and the poor quality of the drywall work in our project. We signed the contract with Jamie *** on July 30, for the installation of 12 new windows (black exterior and white interior), a patio door, and drywall. Our scheduled start time was mid-October. However, when October came, I had to reach out to Shanda *** on October 23, to inquire about the progress. She informed me that our patio door was ready, but none of our windows had arrived. I called again on November 8th, and our job was finally scheduled to start on November 14th. The installers, Mitch and Ryan, began the installation, but we immediately noticed issues with the paint on the windows. The first window had chipped black paint on the exterior and black overspray on the interior. Unfortunately, this issue persisted with every window they installed. Jamie, Shanda, and Mitch assured us that the manufacturer would send someone to repaint and clean up the windows because All States was not willing to cover the labor costs, claiming it was the manufacturer's fault. On November 25th, Mitch installed the patio door in our dining room, but it was installed backwards and opened in the wrong direction. Mitch had to reinstall the door, causing further delays in addressing the paint issues. Finally, on November 20th, Mitch installed one of the two new windows in our living room along the front wall. However, instead of replacing our original single window and large floor-to-ceiling window, they installed two smaller windows, requiring new headers and drywall.

I contacted Shanda on December 2nd as I had not heard from the drywall crew, led by Fernando. Fernando's crew arrived on December 11th, but I was extremely disappointed with their lack of professionalism. They failed to cover anything up, leaving their equipment lying on my floor, a heat gun plugged in my kitchen, and a cord strung through the dining room and lying on the table. As a result, my rooms were covered in drywall dust, including my air conditioning vents. Additionally, they did not turn off the furnace or even bother to vacuum. I had to clean up after them and called Fernando to express my dissatisfaction. They were supposed to come back the next day to finish, but their lack of cleanliness continued. They even asked to borrow our shop vac, which we provided, but still did not clean up properly. The interior trim had been installed in all areas except for the dining room and living room, as we were waiting for the drywall to be completed. This meant we couldn't hang curtains and had to resort to stapling sheets to our living room windows. With Christmas just 12 days away, we only had a small tree covered in drywall dust and no ornaments, as the work was still not complete, and we had a wall that needed to be painted and primed. We decided to prime on January 1, but immediately noticed that the seams started to pull away from the joints, revealing that no tape had been used. Furthermore, we discovered that two of the joints were placed at the bottom corners of our new windows, which was a clear mistake. I sent pictures to Shanda on January 2nd and January 9th, but we still had not heard from Fernando. I reached out to Shanda again, and finally, on January 10th, Fernando sent his crew to address the issues. We primed again on January 19th, but the seams looked even worse, with huge humps forming at the same joints. Frustrated and upset, I emailed Shanda on January 19th, expressing my dissatisfaction. To make matters worse, we still did not have the correct patio door by this point. Shanda and Jamie called me on January 21st, informing me that my door had arrived and that Larry *** would come to inspect the drywall on January 30th. Larry agreed that the job was a complete tear-out and stated that the drywall used was not the correct thickness. He also confirmed that no tape had been used and emphasized that corner joints should never be placed under a window. Essentially, Larry had to start over, removing the majority of the front wall on February 7th. It took him five days to complete both rooms, and he even worked on a Saturday. He took the necessary precautions by taping off the living room and covering our belongings, but unfortunately, he created a significant amount of dust while sanding the walls. As a result, dust was now everywhere. Larry also mentioned that we needed new screens and requested the crew to come back and repaint for us. The painters arrived during the first week of March and completed the priming and painting in less than two hours. However, we noticed a few spots on the wall that required more mud, but we chose not to call for further repairs as we couldn't bear any more dust. Mitch finally installed the trim on March 12th, which allowed us to hang curtains. However, he claimed to know nothing about the screens and did not address that issue. On March 25th, I inquired about the screens, and Larry was supposed to come back when the manufacturer was available, but unfortunately, travel restrictions due to Covid-19 prevented this from happening. Larry eventually returned on June 7th to change our screens and clean the interior windows. The exterior window cleaning was completed on June 8th. However, we still need two window stops to be installed.
