Lifestation / No refund

I purchased and paid up front for a year of service from this company. After we received the box, my mother changed her mind . I called the company and was assured I would receive a complete refund after I returned the box. I called today and was informed I was not granted a refund, because I had paid for a year. This is unacceptable!! I never used the system. Never even set it up. I would have agreed to a month of service because I actually had the box for a month. But to lose the entire year is unacceptable. I am out over 300 dollars!!
