The day after Christmas I received an automated phone call from my bank about suspicious activity. I looked at the pending charges on my account and I saw "CHKCARDLAWRENCE CRANE SHERMANKS CAUS" for $291.95. A few searches turned up with this company by the name of Release Techniques which seems to be some sort of self help company.
I canceled my credit card and then found the contact information for Release Techniques, inquired with their customer service about an unauthorized charge to my credit card, they then looked up the order which just happened to be under my name and address. I asked if there was any other order information, their response was that it was a web order and they gave me an email address that the person registered with. This email address was one that I have never heard of.
They said they would cancel the order (Was some sort of Workbook/tapes) since it hasn't shipped and contact my bank. I sent my name into the FTC and put a fraud alert out just in case this is some sort of ID theft. I have the card in my possession so the only thing I can think of is that someone copied the numbers at one of the 3 places I shopped at for some last minute Christmas shopping...
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

First for identity i've decided not to name myself. I have been a serious releaser now since 2005. Have attended 1 7 day retreat, 1 weekend course, and on the 90 day programme. Like yourself i tried to find financial freedom and released seriously all the time. I have experienced incredible peace and serenity and yes it has helped me drop fear and other emotions. Am i financially free, no i'm not. I would say that in combination with the ICAP i really have let go of figuring it out, but i still haven't received money. Larry is quite in flexible when it comes to helping you go to the live courses, e.g. I wanted to sign up to one of the special releasing packages, to help as Larry says with 'momentum'. Considering i don't earn much, i asked Larry if he would give a discount, but he didn't. It seems he's very keen to take money of you, but try asking for a free CD package to be thrown in when you've spent $2995 on a 90 day programme. Nothing. It hurts me very much to write this, considering I am very loyal to RT. I've got all the advanced courses, and to be fair they do help, don't get me wrong, yes the results are incredible. As much i I hate to write this, maybe Larry could help redeem himself. If you truly care for people then why don't you, reduce your live class prices, make it more open to low income earners, and stop being so flipping tight with giving out bonuses. I agree Larry does come across as Bulshy and confrontational. Anyway, the ICAP meter is very good. Just one caution though, customer service is terrible, they don't help you at all or support you as they promise, and again what a shame! The technique works, but they don't offer any webchats or newsletters. In fact i haven't received any emails from these guys for over a year. It cost alot of money for this product. I think the desire for money has taken a hold. I do see the point of being drawn in to buy retreat after retreat, in the name of getting lighter. I can't possibly comment. I don't mean to be judgemental or offensive to Larry. Please understand that I love these guys for trying to help the world be a better place. Anyway, make up your own minds and see what your inner self says. This is my first ever comment on a forum, and again i'm not saying this is a cult, but rather they do do a hard sell, and for example on Love youself graduates were asked to buy various numbers of books, for 12 books you got a weekend retreat free. What happended to just releasing it and allowing it to happen. That kind of behaviour detracts from what is in honesty a good solid technique, just don't go into it for just money gains!

Well it is getting even more interesting...
I've got charged by "WEB SERVICE SHERMANKS CAUS" for $64 for services unknown services. I just received my new card and used it one time on line. How this company got my card number I have no idea.
As someone who is in the Direct Response Industry, I see this far to often. Just remember the companies who have unauthorized order placed with them are victims also. They incur cost, in transaction fees, shipping, product and labor.
I don't know why someone would use a stolen credit card to ship products to the owner of the credit card, but they do. The best I can figure, its because they want to taunt the card holder.
the release program seems to prey on people who need emotional stability..whether it be a man or woman..my sister had went into this course with a calm attitude and increasing got more involved more welcomed and began flying out of state to attend more and more classes..different techiques to learn..more and more money to spend..it consumed so much of her time that she found there was no reason to work..she was a part of this now and enjoyed it all...of course she was paying them...even though she was helping them out..at several shows..thousands were spent and she felt great.
over time she was so comsumed by this man and his teaching that she began living ..breathing ..sleeping this cult like way.
leaving us her family in the dark..no reason for us in her life..she was in the light.
well, she is now in a state mental hospital...with paranoid traits and fearful of others energy...THIS IS HOW FAR THIS MAN AND HIS COURSES TOOK HER..
please beware of everything ...if you truely need help with your live see a doctor, a licensed medical person..a therapist etc...this is not a helpful course for the fragile, weak nor obsessive ...AND YET, THEY ARE HOPING YOU ARE.! stay clear.
