One word: SCAM.
Do not join their online-courses service. It’s crap.
I enrolled for one of their courses; my first impression was to find the course itself full of mistakes (spelling, missing words…). Well, I already paid for my course, so I just let go and finished the tests with a high score.
Second, I thought it was a US accreditation and that the website is ran by Americans… In the Privacy Policies section, you can read that you can contact them through their New York address…
Shocked to receive a cheap and poorly printed so-called certificate from INDIA (!) a month later… The paper is just cheap quality, with text poorly printed.
What is more suspicious is that, well, since I finished my course, I didn’t try to log in to my student page… but it appears I’m somehow banned… I cannot log in anymore! I tried and tried, and even asked to retrieve my password, but they say none is registered with my email, which is just impossible, because it is one and only email I have and the only one I enrolled with for that stupid course!
I do not think at all that they are ISO 9001:2000 certified company. Even their certificate seal looks fake. It can easily be falsified. It is not a seal, it’s just a printed circle, and trust me if I say it’s ugly.
I cannot show this certificate to any employer! I bet they would first suspect me creating it. It is just far from being a real certificate.
I guess online training and certification schools are popping up all over our Internet! They look great, claim to be the most recognized and accredited certifications, and offer affordable online courses…
I lost $29.99 for a piece of ###. But thank God I didn’t enroll for another course with this company before receiving this certificate-joke.
So, anyone reading this warning… don’t do the same mistake!

Pictures of what I received from ExpertRating are attached as proofs.

It's too bad you had that experience. I've taken a course online and it was fine and my certificate they mailed was very professional as my other certs from other major organizations. Yes, it's not the most popular professional and accredited but it is recognized by several major companies. I know of and have heard of several major companies that hire persons with certificates from this company. I went to sign on after not signing on for 2 years and my sign on still worked and all my info was still there and I had full access to everything, previous course, transcript, certificate, tests. Yes the material is easy and not as challenging as some other expensive avenues. I say if you already know somewhat about the subject and know what you are doing, and if this is accepted by your perspective employer...then why waste money and time with other intensed expensive courses. I'm in fitness and have taken completed the top certification companies ACE and AFAA. It was very taxing and intense sifting thru hours of studying, videos and sitting for 2-3 hrs exam with 200-300 questions, only to find out that one of the potential employers takes the Expert Ratings Cert. So really you just have to know your purpose for getting the cert and what you want to do with it. So, if you need a cert and low on funds and if this is accepted, I'd do this until you can afford the funds and time to complete more accredited program which is what I decided to do with my Personal Training Cert until I can afford the time and funds to take a more accredited program, and it just so happens what for I'm using if for it will satisfy the criteria for now. Sometimes you just have to get your foot in the door and later pry it open. So for some this is a great start on your way to other more acceptable programs. Give it a try.

I posted about a year and a half ago about how well my daughter is doing as a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist after getting certified by ExpertRating. Because of her efforts and her certifications, she is RAPIDLY on her way to a six-figure income in less than two years. A certification was necessary for her to start this career with the sports organization, and she was able to provide it. Her ExpertRating certificates have done nothing less than enhance her new career. You don't have to go to a well-known, overpriced school for your certification to boost your career. My daughter is living proof of that. ExpertRating is making it easy for people to learn at their own pace and receive certification in so many different fields. I say don't judge the value of a certificate by the cost and the school name. There are highly successful graduates from Howard University and unemployed graduates from Harvard. Likewise, I know some folks who paid a high-cost for Personal Training certifications to alleged "top-notched" organizations such as NASM, ACE, W.I.T.S., and they aren't doing a fraction as well as my daughter in the same field. I highly recommend ExpertRating.

I will take my business elsewhere...the SEO rich essays here that support ExpertRating are alarming. I’ve seen that behavior in other companies trying to devalue honest complaints by saturating Google verse with disingenuous praise...au revoir!

I don't know what all the negative hoopla is about. My daughter recently received certifications from ExpertRating for Personal Trainer, Weight Loss Instructor and Sports Nutrition. She approached the Director of Training & Development at a well-known gym (with excellent ratings) in our area asking how one goes about getting on the map immediately after becoming a Certified Personal Trainer. He asked where she got her certification from, interviewed her, and hired her. Even before her original certificates arrived in the mail, she got a job at a great Gym where she is already making good money putting all three of her certificates to good use.

The manager of the club has embraced her knowledge and enthusiasm, and is sending clients her way. The Director is pretty well known in this area because of his experience, reputation as a fitness director, and the passion he has about fitness, yet he had no problem with ExpertRating certification. He simply told her to get insurance and she could start immediately. And before it's said or implied, there is absolutely no shortage of trainers at that gym, so he wasn't desperate for trainers. In fact, he is very particular about who he lets in his camp. So ExpertRating, thus far, has done her very well - and so far, her clients LOVE what she is teaching them, how she's working them out, and her passion for what she does. She’s doing extremely well in her newfound career and growing fast. THANK YOU, ExpertRating!

Well I'm reading everyone comments and wondering why I'm locked out of my account right now! I've finally got to the point of being ready to take my exam and now I cannot get back in. I've tried different internet sites like google chrome, fire fox and each one said's that the website is no longer there. I even went back to my emails to try to email them and it said the email address is no longer found. Now I have purchased a combo package and have paid damn near $200.00. So I'm looking for answers right away or I'm filing a complaint! I knew this was to good to be true!

I agree
Experating is legit. Unfortunately the BBB grade is a F due to several complaints. The companies advertised on their website would have sued by now for false advertisements if they were scamming. My card info has yet to be compromised, so scam no inexpensive yes. It's so easy for people to post negative comments but at the end of the day it's certifications not degrees :/

I have two certificates from Expert Rating. None of my course material contained spelling errors, but you know what, every day when I read the news online I found dozens of spelling errors, so what is your point anyway. Both of the courses I took provided me with the information that I was looking for, allowing me to enhance my job skills. I have had no problems with the website, logging on or how my certificates looks. I also have no issue with the company being based in India or any other country other than the United States.

No Scam !
Inspite of the protean scam parties in internet, expertrating are clean and not robbers.
I had frequent experiences with them and I can give them 75% score or reliability.
Moreover, it is a matter of pride that India enters competition market face to face with westerners.
I can strongly advise expertrating to make more and more certificates in medical subspecialities ( like dermatology - cardiology - paediatrics... ).
I am sorry to say that westerners'imperialism is among the reasons for attacking expertrating.
master black belt in 6 sigma is simply written by expertrating in about 150 pages, while others offer it in a more complicated files. That gives employees chance to work and study simutanously. Moreover, expertrating do not necessiate stepping ( white belt followed by yellow belt followed by green belt followed by black belt ) like westerners do.They tell you : if you achieve the passing score, you will take the certificate. On the other hand, american universities take $2000 versus $200 of expertrating and if you object the stepping they will joke at you by saying: did you know biostatistics ? !
The only black side of expertrating is their intimate relation with paypal.Paypal is their third party.Paypal, inspite of it's enormous capital, are clever and problem makers. They want to dominate expertrating.Step by step, they want to enforce you to pay through them. That makes one or two dollar gain to paypal per checkout, which, in my opinion is a frank steal. Moreover, paypal many times ignore your emails and suspend your complains. Also, their password and username sometimes do not work.
The bottom line is : expertrating is a good company.By comparing my TESOL certificate from canada to master black belt from india, india is much better. And when comparing TESOL diploma from canada to TOEFL certificate from america, canada is much better.
The reason is : ethnicity imperialism and monopoly greed !

I have taken once course through Expertrating. I found the course to be complete and well formatted. I had only one login issue. I found a contact e-mail on the website and contacted them regarding my login issues and it was immediately resolved. I studied the course material several times. I took the test and passed. A short time afterwards I received my certificate. I requested that it be laminated which cost just a little under $2. I found the certificate perfectly fine. I am not sure what people expect, however, it was a nice looking certificate and people that have seen it also thinks it looks nice. I signed up for my course over a year ago as of the time of this post (August 31, 2017) and I have had not fraud on my credit card.
I am based in the USA and do not have an issue with the company being in a different country. If that were problematic to me then I would also be limited on my choice of cars since many of them are made overseas. The same goes for numerous other products we use.
That is my experience, therefore I have to disagree with the complaint.

For me, the knowledge is important. not misspelled words. Also, I don't know how the information about Yoga can be outdated?! That is impossible.

Misspelled words are not a problem, if you understand what they want to say. Also, the quality of certificate is not important to someone whom is knowledge on the first place.

This company is a total scam! guard your card... I wish I would have read this first. there were soo many misspelled words it was pathetic! the information in the courses is totally outdated, and irrelevant. I bought two courses MISTAKE! courses are very remedial and put together by people that obviously use English as a second language. The certificate looks like it was put together by a 7 year old, cheap and very thin...
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!
You will not learn anything new and no future employer will accept the certificate, looks fake!

Thank you to those who posted useful comments based on experience and not just random opinions (or ridiculously long crap!) I have been an ASQ CSSBB for 10 years. I decided last week to up my certification to MBB. After looking at numerous on-line training sites, I decided to chose Expert Rating, for no other logical reason than the course list appeared complete and it was dirt cheap compared to others. So far, it has taken me 3 days to get through 1/2 of the course, and that is just looking at it now and then. It isn't very in depth or thought provoking... more like anything you could read on LinkedIn. I'm not bothered though... if it gets me to the MBB... it was only $195. Luckily, I already have a BB position and do not need the certificate to show an employer... but I can surely see if that is your goal, you are better off spending the money on BMGI or Villanova University has a nice program that is not too crazy priced. Good luck!

I see that there’s some guy who had some issues with ExpertRating because (1) he somehow got locked out of his course and (2) because his certifications were mailed from India. And I'd be curious what type of certification he was even trying to get for $30--maybe typing (which, judging from his grammar, he could probably use). It certainly wasn't Six Sigma related, nor even software-related (which ExpertRating also has several good training courses for, I believe, though haven't used the site for that myself).

According to ExpertRating's website, over 270, 000 people in 160 countries have received certifications through its site, but it may be well over that, as I suspect not all the web-pages have been updated. It mentions, specifically, that several companies such as Ikea, UPS, Fox News, Convergys, etc. use ExpertRating (not just people who work there) for training. It mentions that a few thousand companies continue to use ExpertRating. It also says that 55% of the customers are located in the US; 15%, Canada; 7%, UK; and the rest, elsewhere.

I'm not sure where the site is hosted. I know that many US companies now go off-shore for web-based needs due to cost-savings, and I suspect that's the way it is with ExpertRating and also why they also list the NY address. And I also suspect that's why I didn't have to pay $1, 000 going through them for training and certification, because it should cost a whole lot more for a website to be hosted on a US-based server and programmed by US-programmers. (The only certification there that I saw that was really expensive was their Medical Coding cert, which they sell for about $2, 300. And I don't have a clue - nor care - what that's about, much like some of ASQ's other non Six Sigma certs.)

If I spend more money, do I really get better training? Or do I just spend more money? For example, if I wanted to go through the MIT Slo[a]n program and spend $100K (not to mention room, board, travel, etc.), would I get that much better of an education than going to Ohio University's MEM program (which is a good school in the top 2%, with a good program, but MIT might be in the top 10)? I like certifications, but I also like my money.

Unlike project management where there's the Project Management Institute that is almost universally recognized, there really is no universal board for "Six Sigma" (which is actually a trademark of Motorola, much like "Kaizen" is a trademark of Masaaki Imai). And I suspect that there's no universal board for Six Sigma because it was developed in-house by Motorola.

In any case, Scam Adviser gives ExpertRating a 100% safe rating.

Codango gives ExpertRating a 4.5 rating out of 5.0. They have people giving reviews back to 2008.

Top Ten Reviews gives ExpertRating a 7/10. (One of the things it complains about is that it feels ExpertRating could be more affordable. Really?) That's not great. But it's not terrible.

So there's some guy who had a bad time and wants to whine about it, and there are 269, 999 people who don't have complaints and who have picked up multiple certificates, with 2, 159+ people on Facebook who like ExpertRating. And the guy who complained really should have been treated better if he was dealt with unfairly. But usually log-ins are pretty much automated processes, as well as resetting problems. You don't have an online company without ensuring that your customers can get in. Or you lose your customers.

And I don't understand how he was able to get in, take his course, take his test, receive his certificate, and then complain that he can't get into the site. But that's another matter. And I'm sorry to hear that he was upset about his certificate being mailed from India, as if it's some great big crime that he has some different-looking postage stamps.

Speaking for myself, I had no problems with ExpertRating. My certificates were also mailed from India, but I suspect that's related to cost-savings (just as I try to buy my English text-books for college in India because I can save over a hundred dollars and get the exact same thing). They probably do have programmers, mailing, and other matters handled from there. Does that make it worthless if people in North America provide the information.

And I had no issue with logging in or out, and can still access my account. I believe the company has the ISO 9001: 2008 rating as stated, which puts its credibility above many other online institutions. I didn't see all the reported typos and misspellings that the complainer mentioned in his course material.

Looking at the Master Black Belt course curriculum, it was accredited to Dr. Mary Adams of Canada:

"Mary Adams holds an MBA from McGill University and a PhD... She has been a business researcher and writer for the past 10 years. Mary has held leadership positions in private and public organizations across a number of industries such as Health Canada. In addition to teaching business statistics and evaluative science, Mary has consulted as a Business Analyst and Management Consultant."

I was able to find reference to her at one of Canada's universities. And she may be no Jack Welsh, obviously. But she is very knowledgeable from what I've read and has some good experience under her belt.

In any case, here's the curriculum of the certificate courses I took through ExpertRating, followed by links to some of the information referenced above. I think it would make a nice complement to any company’s existing program, certainly not in replace of it but in addition to it, especially by having an outside body provide the certification.

ExpertRating training offers ISO [protected] certified online training and testing services. They offer many training topics including instructor led classes. Beyond the online web design tutorial services, they provide exams that offer certifications. Companies can use the website to test potential applicants on their skills in specific areas. Each training session is offered with exams and certificates. Instructors are available in each course to answer questions or to offer feedback.

Standout Features:

Instructor interaction
Certificates in subject areas
Exams to demonstrate content mastery
A good range of courses
A discussion board for help
Industry certified service

Unlike training services online, Expert Training offers instructor led courseware and certificates of completion after one passes a mastery exam. This makes the company’s service unique. Each subject area is offered for a separate fee of $99. The costs can add up if one wishes to utilize multiple training sessions and there is not a multiple course discount offered.

The ability to obtain a credible certificate after completing a mastery exam is very appealing. The interaction of instructor led courseware can be extremely helpful in learning about web development topics which often require a great deal of practice for mastery. Unlike other training services, the training sessions are offered monthly and are not completely self paced. Free online tutorials are also offered with exercises to aid in recall. Some courses require the purchase of certain applications or hardware, depending on the topic.

The one problem is the costs. At $99 per training session, one’s bill can add up fast if multiple sessions are needed. Unfortunately, web development or design requires more than one training session and often requires multiple subject areas to be covered. If one is starting from scratch then the costs may be very prohibitive. Another problem is the high average technical language might be a turnoff for beginners.

Courses are offered on many computer, web design, and programming topics. For web development, they offer courses on Dreamweaver, HTML, XHTML, FrontPage, web design, SEO topics, Flash, and other areas.
Tutorial Interaction
Compare
10/10

The quality of instructor led courses is very good and the additional exercises for working on many difficult subjects is a major plus. Web design and development is a complex set of practice, interaction, and learning that can best be enhanced with instructor communications. The subject content is presented with professional language, revealing a high quality of instruction overall.

The video instructors are well qualified experts in their fields and each course presents the instructor’s biographical background. The use of discussion boards and interaction with the instructor is a major plus for the training sessions. The company is one of the few online training centers offering ISO [protected] certified courses. This means that one can be assured the training is of high quality and that each certificate of completion will be respected by many companies.
Ease of Use
Compare
7.5/10

The ExpertRating website is fairly average in its usability. It might appear confusing to beginner learners. The language used is fairly above average for each topic which also might make the different content areas more difficult to learn. The site uses large chunks of links to navigate throughout the site, which can also appear a little complex for some users. For average to expert level computer users, the site might be easier to navigate and more acceptable in content.

The unique nature of the instructor led coursework is a major aid in learning about web development topics. At $99 per session, the costs may be a little high for some learners. On the other hand, one can obtain certificates of completion after finishing a mastery exam. The fact that ExpertRating is ISO [protected] certified lends a great deal of credibility and respect for the certificates offered. This is a service not found on other online training websites.

The information you're posting about big companies that supposedly have used ExpertRating is FALSE. Like many other scammers, they list logos and claim giant corporations as customers because they're assuming no one will be able to verify whether it's try. But try a Google search using any of the famous company names listed above and "ExpertRating" and you won't find a single instance of anyone from that company ever mentioning ExpertRating. Any links you'll find will be from ExpertRating themselves and dodgy small sites run by people like whoever posted this comment claiming the company has worked with ExpertRating. You'll never find a company like HarperCollins, for example, mentioning on THEIR OWN WEBSITE that they have any connection whatsoever with ExpertRating. Don't you think an employee of a corporation that had actually taken an Expert Rating course might mention it on that employee's LinkedIn profile if they considered the course legitimate? It doesn't happen because (1) they've never taken courses from ExpertRating and (2) nobody in a legit company would give any credibility to an ExpertRating course. Scammers!

BEWARE: THEY MAY STEAL YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!

Yes, I agree, they are a total scam...I took a test online for German/
English translations (which used to be my job, many years ago). the text sounded like something out of the 50's and even though they gave me a grade of 90, I felt that the test was scored wrong, because I certainly did not make the mistakes they claimed I did. I took the test 2 more times, basically obtained the same score but "deficiencies" were in different areas. I finally gave up, because it made no sense. Never received my "certificate" and guess what? The PayPal card I used to pay them was compromised a couple of weeks later.

Expertrating is a JOKE, a scam in every sense of the word. What company does not have even a toll free number and a person to answer calls in the US? Obviously a shading group or a couple of people masquerading as "Online Training centers". These guys are based out of some place in India, like the zillions of recruiters who call from India - The recruiters atleast have a New Jersey address (Which again makes no sense because you can clearly know from the English they speak that they are calling from Bangalore, Hyderabad or some remote place in South India.

Coming to Expertrating - they are simply a fraud, that is nothing but a money making scam. Just don't fall prey to it.

As with anything in life, you get out what you put in. I did over a year of research into on-campus and online certification programs before I decided on ExpertRating. I have attended both in the past and applying those experiences into my approach to finding the most suitable, affordable, viable solution for myself was taken well into account with my decision. Firstly, I left an International Business and Management program after 5 semesters at an accredited university after I was grossly overcharged for learning absolutely NOTHING about business and secondly, ExpertRating against any other certifying body is as up to date and proficient in their curriculum and deliverables as any other program offering the EXACT same certifications at dramatically inflated fees. I cross-compared and examined lessons, formats, styles and course material with several companies that advertised the same programs and found that the ONLY true scam is these other companies are charging you from $399 upwards to $10, 000 USD for, again, THE EXACT SAME, if not less involved certificate programs that ExpertRating charges very modestly for. In case you have not yet discovered in all of your vast education and wisdom, a very large degree of American companies, do NOT have a physical entity here in the U.S. and are based overseas. In the words of any great educator whom has ever delivered anything of value to someone else, ... DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

I've done a few online tests regarding IT on a website that uses Expert Rating. The tests are obviously cobbled together by non-computer literate people using books that nobody has ever read. I find it quite annoying when I know the correct answer yet it gets marked wrong. Oh well, atleast i'm not the only person to think they're [censored]e.
