The Co-Operative Bank Refund

Iad made a wire transfer on November 3, 2011 to a person who had a account with the Co-Operative Bank I paid $68 00.00 US currency to obtain access to Roy Hooks account 977654 and his pin was 54368. It was shown to be a valid account after my money had been sent I was given a code to gain access into the account but I still could not get into the account it said I need anotherr code. When I contacted Chris Clemett who had represent himself as a Accountant with The Co-Operative Bank told me that I had to pay the taxes due on the money. I did not have the fourteen thousand dollars. My money was suppose to be just sitting there. I was told I had breeched the agreement I was not given complete information. When I learned that the man Roy Hooks had been scamming me I immedately contacted his suppose banker and demanded my money back. I was told that I would have to pay a additional amount of $625 which my mother lent me. Then I received a email telling me that I would have to pay the courier charges. I kept sending the emails to the bank starting last Wednesday asking for help. I had been insistant that someone help me, I suffered a mental breakdown and tried to [censored] from depression because I have been financially ruined. All I asked is that this bank would give me my money back. Today I was told that Chris Clemett was not an employee of the bank mentioned. Why wasn't I told this last week because this man has been calling me wanting more money and still representing himself as a employee of this bank. Their account holder Roy Hooks scammed me out of $25, 000.00 United States dollars I am in risk of losing my car and health insurance and no one had bothered to call even today. My home phone number is [protected] I need some help because I am becoming increasingly depressed and stressed because no one seems to care what happens to the little person. Roy Hooks had over $740, 000.00 in his account and this bank never questioned where this money was coming from. In the states IRS is notified when you withdraw or deposit over $10, 000.00. There doesn't seems to be any kind of oversight and just maybe it could have saved me from being penniless and mentally unstable today.

We really want them to be good because of their ethical policy, but nothing can hide the fact that they are a complete shambles at times. I have experienced incorrect charges, mail sent to the wrong address, repeatedly, duplicated transactions on statements, and regular failure of the online banking system. What's more, it doesn't matter how many times I write a letter of complaint, they never 'seem' to receive it.

The Co-Operative Bank Incorrect credit data wrecks my life

I accidentally discovered on a simple customer services call that there was a 'credit problem' reported to the Bank via Experian. I knew this had to be a mistake and the Bank refused to supply any information regarding the problem to me. After paying to check my records myself I was able to call the bank back, later that day, 2nd April 2009, and advise them that my credit report was clean and the error must be in their data. I also advised that the information they had supplied regarding a personal loan I had with them was wrong and that my debt had been exaggerated by around 40%. I was treated like ### by the first two individuals I spoke withm, they lied about tthe FSA regulations and Banking code. I work in banking and so know what they said was untrue, the average person would not know this. I also told them that I was searching for my next contract as I was due to finish at Easter, and that I had to ensure that this had been fixed before I could look in earnest as I have to have credit checks done before, if my credit report came back with a problem because of their error I could kill my career prospects stone dead.

I waited 4 days for a call back and then called again to find out what was happening, I was told that I was correct there was absolutely no problem on my credit report and they would be working to resolve it, it could take a week or so as they were understaffed. I then wrote to them to formalize my complain. I heard nothing and so wrote agin on 15th April and on 5th May 2009.

Today 13th may I finally get a holding letter from them stating that they will respond in 4 weeks...no apology, no rectification and all the while I cannot look fior me next role as I cannot risk this error coming up on background checks.

The bank are ruining my life and it's THEIR ERROR NOT MINE!I cannot change my Bank Accounts until this has been resolved otherwise I will just transport the problem with me.

I have no idea how they can get away with this... and I chose them as they describe themselves as an ethical bank..don't make me laugh!

The Co-Operative Bank Terrible bank

After 20 years as a loyal customer the Co-Op bank closed all my accounts because I complained about their handling of my accounts. As a result of their mishandling of my accounts one of them went over drawn and most direct debits/SO's were stopped. After 18 months I'm still trying to recover from the disruption this has caused.

The net affect of this dispute was that the Co-operative Bank vindictively closed ALL my accounts at short notice. Left me with no means of paying bills or receiving payment and still hold a considerable sum of monies (5 figures) which they have hived off somewhere, which only they know where!

I have tried without success to get the FSA (Supposedly independant but Financed by the banks!) interested and the best thing I can say about the FSA is Bloody useless! I have a more appropriate achronim using "FSA" which I doubt would get past the site moderators. F****** S*** Authority.

In my opinion this money has been stolen by the Co-Op Bank. Yet the police are not interested, because it involves a bank stealing my hard earned money. Recently our illustrious government decided only the banks can report fraud to the police. Excluding ALL customer complaints.

Has any one else had similar difficulties with banks? In particular the Co-Op.

bloody here, here, i thought the co-op was a respectable organisation, now i learn the staff are rude and the co-ops name is mud in my eyes, time they also, reviewed there staff and come up to work standards, there is no excuse for bad management and they ought to empower themselves with workers, workers who love there work and workers who are traine to a respectable and much higher standard.

The Co-Operative Bank Bad experience

It's free banking... so I guess you get what you pay for. The Business Internet Banking service is awful. It's often not available. The default statement display only shows todays transactions and the widget to set an earlier date is very slow if it works at all. When reconciling my bank statements I found a cheque I had sent with 2 other cheques on the same paying in slip had been omitted from the credit. When I queried it, the money was paid but with no apology or explanation.
